CRN Lady Trudy

Lady Trudy The real American journey.

When the well-known elegance of Italian design encounters the intimate grandeur of the American colonial style, the result is refined and seductive, an exclusively comfortable megayacht: the Lady Trudy.

Elegance

on the open sea. The elegant pearl grey of the Lady Trudy hull makes for a prestigious profile on the blue sea. Spacious environments and large areas characterise the exteriors, designed to allow Owners and their guests to enjoy more direct contact with the sea. The Navetta 43 Lady Trudy, a 43 metre full displacement megayacht built in GRP composite material, stretches out over four decks.

Produced at the CRN Shipyard in Ancona, the megayacht can accommodate 10 guests in five guest cabins, as well as 9 crew members. She was designed by CRN technical office in association with Studio Zuccon International Project, which dealt with the external lines and subdivision of the interiors. The latter were uniquely designed by Centro Stile CRN according to the Owner’s taste.

Lady Trudy was designed to recreate the intimacy of a real home, but on the open sea. The interiors have been elegantly interpreted, bringing to life once again the American colonial atmosphere of the Hamptons in all its glory. In the classically romantic style of the East Coast, the mahogany wood warms the salons and common areas, whilst the paleness of the white ash lights up the Owner’s suite and guest cabins. The large external areas on the Lady Trudy feature marine-themed decorations and play with colour variation: red and white on the main deck, blue and white on the upper deck, beige and red on the sun deck. The unmistakable American mark on the Lady Trudy has been intensified by the quality and refinement of Italian design and production, a blend of styles that has resulted in a truly unique megayacht.

Main deck,

American way of living. From the stern, Lady Trudy welcomes her guests in the cockpit of the main deck, where the external lounge areas are furnished with four wooden armchairs with backs in coffee-coloured wicker set out around a low dark mahogany table. Astern, cushions embroidered with a marine theme from Mastro RaphaÍl’s colonial collection look exquisite on the large white structural couch.

A warm heart in a pure frame: this is the first impact one has going through the electric glass French windows and seeing the main salon. The dark brown shades of the wooden flooring and two mahogany coffee tables contrast with the light colours of the natural wicker armchairs with white linen cushioning produced by American company McGuire, and the purity of the customised sofas in white linen, again in colonial style, as well as the walls and ceiling. In the bulkhead of the salon towards bow, aqua green shades stand out, providing the background for the two large sets of Hampton style bookshelves in white ash, in the middle of which the electric sliding door opens. The shuttered door, which leads into the dining room, has been produced in the same wood.

On the left, the structural, custom made unit which houses the 46 slideaway TV screen. On the right, the dining room in which the table stands out: a glass top resting on two column-like bases at the top of which there is a hollow filled with sand and shells. McGuire chairs and striking black and white photos of Fifties America complete the furnishings.

Lady Trudy has a large professional galley produced by well-known French company La Cornue and inspired by the Old England American ones.

Advancing along the corridor towards bow, immediately after a guest head set starboard, there is the studio, the antechamber of the Owner’s bathroom. This well-lit area continues the contrast between light and dark in the salon. On one side, there are the bookshelves and a divan-bench built into the bulkhead; both in white ash, the divan-bench has cream and beige coloured fabric cushioning. On the other side, under the large windows, the capacious mahogany desk features a brown leather writing surface set alongside a bookshelf with a built-in monitor.

The simple elegance which distinguishes Lady Trudy can also be found in the Owner’s apartment. The room is characterised by the creamy colours of the fitted carpet and bedspread and the browns of the furniture and headboard covered in coffee-coloured calfskin.

The magnificent dark mahogany four-poster bed stands out in the centre, leading feature in a suite with white ash walls, which offers the exclusive pleasure of a large sea view window with venetian blinds.

An unfailing privilege on-board a CRN is the balcony of the Owner’s suite, on which there are four armchairs and a coffee table, making it possible to comfortably enjoy the view even while cruising.

Class and distinction can also be found in the two Owner’s bathrooms, featuring a tub for her and a shower for him, both clad in white ash and slatted teak. The San Gaudenzio stone washbasins have been embellished with antiqueeffect bronze coloured taps and fittings with a hammered effect, as have the other accessories in the bathrooms.

Lower deck, a peaceful port.

A tribute to the United States is the main theme that runs through all the different areas of the megayacht, just as the Owner wanted. The guest cabins, located on the lower deck, are all dedicated to American resorts along the north Atlantic coast, each characterised by a different colour: yellow for the Newport VIP cabin, green for the Cape Cod VIP cabin, blue for the Nantucket VIP cabin and red for the Mystic cabin, the latter of which features two single beds set side by side and a pullman bed. Moreover, the name of the cabins is taken up again in the embroidery on the large cushions that decorate each bed.

The white ash which predominates over the various environments and the mahogany details and dĂŠcor are the common characteristics of the guest cabins. However, the cabins differ in the Ralph Lauren fabrics with marine motifs which clad the head board side bulkheads and the lines of different colour which liven up the elegant wall-to-wall carpeting in white cotton, giving it romantic dynamism.

The choice of fabrics such as cotton and crushed linen intensify the feeling of warmth and softness which welcome guests to these cabins.

The white ash planking on the floor, the natural teak clad shower and the anthracite grey, natural, porous San Gaudenzio stone top give the guest bathrooms a feeling of comfort and elegance.

The stern of the lower deck is the area devoted to relaxation and fitness. Here, with a view right on the surface of the water and adjacent to the stern swim platform, a classical CRN feature, is the fitness area with a gym featuring Technogym速 equipment and natural teak head.

The choice of fabrics such as cotton and crushed linen intensify the feeling of warmth and softness which welcome guests to these cabins.

Upper deck, room for pleasure.

The covered cockpit of the upper deck is the ideal place for alfresco lunching. The white polished lacquered wood elliptically-shaped table can seat twelve. A long buffet unit with panels and drawers in the same style has been fitted, useful for keeping drinks cool and heating food. Set portside of the cockpit, the unit has been finished with a teak and glass top. Towards the stern, the cockpit has been furnished with a large structural sofa. The central area has an elongated sunbed upholstered in a fabric with sky blue and white vertical stripes with navy blue fabric side sections. Lastly, patterned decorations and tone on tone white and blue have been chosen for the cushioning.

The large pleasant panoramic salon of the upper deck has been devised for socialising with friends and family and relaxing in complete comfort. The central coffee table is almost ‘embraced’ by the large custom-made white linen L-shaped couch, alongside which there is a square gaming table.

A 55’’ LED TV has been fitted on the bulkhead opposite the couch with an overhanging mobile mechanism. Thanks to this mechanism, it is possible to adjust the slant of the TV depending on where the viewer is watching from, such as the comfortable peninsulashaped table in dark mahogany like the rest of the furniture in the salon. Technological pleasure and comfort are also privileges offered by myOlos hi-tech integrated entertainment, information and home automation system available on-board the Lady Trudy. Fruit of the partnership between CRN, Videoworks and Intel, it features user-friendly technology for managing the entertainment and air-conditioning, and controlling on-board lighting, awnings and video-surveillance thanks to a simple iPod available in each different area.

Going beyond the lobby leading to the lower decks, at bow of the upper deck, there is the large full beam wheelhouse area flanked to the left by the radio room. It is also adjacent to the comfortable captain’s cabin, furnished just like the guest cabins.

Sun deck,

relaxing at the skyline. Guests can gaze at the horizon from the large central area of the sundeck fitted out as a living area. Here, they can lay comfortably on the large couch with a beautifully finished low square teak table and an American bar, which is an integral part of the hard top flybridge. Starboard, at this height, a well-equipped kitchen unit is available for preparing any kind of cuisine for guests. At bow, the jacuzzi tub is enclosed between two large sunbed cushions and semi-circular sofas, each of which has its own circular table which can be raised or lowered. The beige of the fabric used for the seating provides the backdrop for the bright alternation of red and white stripes of the backrest with sailor knots.

Choosing a CRN means having all the advantages one wishes for, with style and elegance. Thanks to important structural alterations, CRN engineers have made it possible to build a larger sun deck, which is more elongated astern. In this way, the area normally furnished with sunbeds and coffee tables can become a touch-and-go helicopter landing pad when needed.

Natural teak is used for all free-standing items on the sun deck, on which there is also a couple of jet-skis.

Excellence

behind the scenes.

Safety and reliability are absolutely essential at sea. For this reason, Lady Trudy has been fitted with twin Caterpillar C32-C engines which guarantee a cruise speed of 13 knots and make it possible to reach a maximum speed of 15.5 knots. On the lower deck, adjacent to the engine room, in the stern area to starboard, there is the garage with electrohydraulic opening which houses a 5.8m long, custom-built Naumatec tender.

The style and elegance of Lady Trudy can be found everywhere on the ship. Indeed, the white ash which characterises the interiors was also used for the dinette and crew cabins on the lower deck, and the special on-board galley on the main deck.
