Lieutenant Governor’s Greeting hey Division 11! how have your summers been so far? so far this summer, I’ve been stressing about college applications and enjoying the summer before my senior year (yikes)! let me know what grade you’re going into!

members: even though it’s the summertime, that doesn’t mean the Key Club grind stops! continue to volunteer and stay connected with your fellow Key Clubbers! club officers: other than the required paperwork that you have to complete, being a club officer is a great leadership opportunity for you. remember to stay connected with your club members and communicate with your fellow board members! fall rally: the Lieutenant Governors and I are currently planning this year’s. Fall Rally! stay tuned for more information!

Governor’s Project: New York Chapter of the Special Olympics It is an organization where athletes with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to challenge themselves in fair and even competition. The Special Olympics’ mission is “to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.” For more information, see https://staging.specialolympics.org/. District Fundraising Goal: $15,000


District Endorsed Projects Our District Endorsed Projects are the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center, Kamp Kiwanis and the Kiwanis Lyme Disease Foundation. Read more about these projects here or at nydkc.org. For each District Endorsed Project, we hope to raise $3,500! For the Governor’s Project and District Project, we hope to raise $15,000 for each!

Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center It is a Kiwanis-Hospital association that was created in order to provide the funds and staff necessary to create a trauma center with extensive medical assistance and safety.


Kamp Kiwanis A summer camp that services kids from ages 8 to 14, as well as adults with special needs, and is aimed to providing fun, physical exercise and adventure. It strives to afford opportunities to participate in a creative outdoor group experience in a democratic setting and develop characteristics of leadership and fair play.

The Pediatric Lyme Disease Foundation Lyme Disease is a bacteria transmitted disease that affects many people. This bacteria is found in animals such as mice and deer. The Pediatric Lyme Disease Foundation was founded in 2000-2001 and it raises money for treatment for children with this disease. For more information, see https://www.kiwanis-ny.org/lyme/.


District Project: Project Semicolon It is an organization dedicated to the prevention of suicide. Their work is based on the foundation and belief that suicide is preventable and everyone has a role to play in preventing suicide. Through raising public awareness, educating communities, and equipping every person with the right tools, they know we can save lives. For more information, see https://projectsemicolon.com/.


International Preferred Charity: Children’s Miracle Network An organization that raises funds and awareness for more than 170 pediatric hospitals. 100% of the funds raised stay local to support local kids. Learn more at https://childrensmiraclenetworkho spitals.org/.
