Jot SPECIAL ISSUE

Welcome to our #jotandheidi mini mag.

A VERY SPECIAL BONUS MINI MAGAZINE FOR JOT READERS. COMPANY FEATURED: HEIDI SWAPP

editor/art director Kim Archer

WELL THIS IS NOVEL ISN’T IT? An issue of Jot in between issues! Jot is published quarterly, but this is a special mini edition of the magazine. Recently we had the pleasure of receiving some pretty generous parcels of product from Heidi Swapp. She’s one of our favourites here in Jot land and Heidi and her family have had a rough time lately which has impacted us here at Jot. This is a very special edition of Jot. It’s a mini mag featuring Heidi projects from the Jot Girls and it’s our way of saying thank you to Heidi for her support and constant generosity and also to showcase the awesome projects the Jot Girls have created. And as it was a big gallery, it was too much to include in issue 11. So I thought.. why not a bonus supplement! So here it is.. our BONUS mini mag #jotandheidi supplement.

Jamie Pate - The Jot Team It is so easy to create with any Heidi Swapp Collection. Wanderlust is one of my new favorites. I love the soft florals and gold foil touches.

Quick + fun project

ADVENTURE SEEKER

Sharmaine Kruijver - The Jot Team Sometimes I like to pretend I know how to take photographs. Sometimes I even surprise myself with a photo that hits my heart. This was one of those times and even though it’s focus is all wrong, I love it. Using some of Heidi’s gorgeous products I kept the page simple so the photo could have pride of place.

HAPPY

Lauren Hender - The Jot Team This is a quick 6x8 layout using the beautiful Heidi Swapp range. For the last ten years I have watched this little family grow. They are the children of one of my best friends and their beautiful personalities reflect that of their mother’s personality.

Supplies | Heidi Swapp, Flutterby Designs and Manor House.

TODAY

TOGETHER

Raquel Bowman - The Jot Team This photo was snapped on Mother’s Day in 2014. I had always wanted to scrapbook it and when I had the Wanderlust collection in front of me I just knew it would be a perfect match! I used my Heidi Swapp screen print and gold texture paste for the first time. Wow -- this paste applies so beautifully and the image is so detailed and beautiful. I have found a new scrappy love!

MEMORY DEX CARDS

Natalie Elphinstone - The Jot Team Heidi’s handwritten words create the perfect focal point for these Project Life cards. I made sure to use them in different ways each time to keep each card unique whilst maintaining a common thread throughout. These are going to work really well in a spread about my daughters.

TRANSPARENT GIFT CARDS Kim Archer - The Jot Team

The Heidi Swapp transparent Project Life cards make great overlays in your pocket pages but they also make cool mini gift cards! Here I have folded the 4x6 transparency card in half and decorated the lower front part of the card with a Heidi Project Life card and some simple embellishments including glitter washi tape and a chipboard heart.

ADVENTURE

Jodie York - The Jot Team This is what awesome looks like! So proud of my daughter Scarlett for getting in there and trying new things.

BLISS. TIME FLIES

Lauren Hender - The Jot Team This is a gift for a beautiful friend. I love how your photos come alive when you scrapbook them. They are featured, highlighted, and treasured. Beautiful memories captured forever. Heidi’s products never cease to amaze. Beautiful colours, tones, embellishments and papers allow you to be creative and reflect on special memories.

SUPPLIES | Heidi Swapp, Bazzill, Stampin’ Up Pens.

MEMORY DEX

Anna Allan - The Jot Team When I first saw Heidi Swapp’s Memory Dex line, I thought it was such a cute idea! Admittedly, I was a tad hesitant to start creating memory dex cards as I am not used to working in such a small format! BUT.... once I got going, I absolutely loved it. I decided to get two Memory Dex files going - one for each of my girls. And fill them with different photos and memories of their childhood - it’s also a good way of using some photos that haven’t made it onto layouts or other projects. It feels good to get the memories recorded for us all to remember and enjoy. I’ve only just started with this project but I’m looking forward to adding to it regularly.

SUPPLIES | HEIDI SWAPP PRODUCTS: Memory Dex Cards/envelope, patterned paper, gold foil rub ons, word stickers, chipboard frame, washi tape, Colour Shine, Wanderlust embellishments, Colour Magic alphas, wood veneer word, flair, glitter letters, puffy sticker, metal clip, charm with phrase, paper banners, twine, 2x2” card, lace ribbon; OTHER PRODUCTS: stamps from Typo, cotton, Studio Calico mini alphas,

Anna has made two Memorydex trays - one for each of her girls. She’s filled them with different photos from their childhood.

TURNING 4

Yvette Adams - The Jot Team I love Heidi Swapp products! There are always so many new and interesting bits and pieces. I loved creating this title with Heidi’s foam letters, and I made the number 4 from a foam star shape.

SUPPLIES | Patterned papers: Heidi Swapp, Typo. Alphabet: Heidi Swapp. Embellishments: Heidi Swapp sticker, wood shape, rub-ons, glitter tape, Stampin Up punch. Other: buttons.

SMILE XOXO

Sheree Forcier - The Jot Team I love that Heidi’s Memory Dex cards and Memory Planner products can be used on any project...they’re so versatile and complement each other beautifully!

SUPPLIES | Heidi Swapp patterned papers, die cut flower, photo frames, stickers, stamp, tag, word, vellum envelope, Memory Dex card, chipboard heart, gold Color Shine. Other: American Crafts cardstock, white twine, sewing machine, black ink.

BE YOU TIFUL

Leanne Allinson - The Jot Team My son and his cousin both got really cute bear onesies from their Uncle for Easter this year! I wanted to highlight the soft pink and bring out the bold browns in the photo equally. I was able to achieve this by Using the Heidi Swapp Minc machine and the gorgeous pre-made cards and embellishments in pink and gold foil!

NOTE TO SELF

Kim Jeffress - The Jot Team

I used one of the Heidi Swapp mixed media art screens and art screen ink to embellish the front of this fabric journal cover. I slipped in the Wanderlust pouch on the inside to one side and added the journal to the other side.

SUPPLIES | Heidi Swapp fabric journal cover, raspberry art screen ink, Note to Self Art Screen, journal, pouch, silver charm

HELLO ADVENTURE 2015 Amanda Hall - The Jot Team I decided to alter a Heidi Swapp memory planner and turn it into an album to take overseas and document our trip. I added a lot of the beautiful product that we were given including the Memory Dex cards which will be perfect for jotting down our daily activities. I feel so very grateful to Heidi and Kim for this incredible package full to the brim of amazing product and I loved seeing how all Heidi’s Memory Dex goodies coordinated well with past ranges.

SUPPLIES | Heidi Swapp memory planner, patterned paper, Memory Dex cards – foil alphabet, foil decorative, clear, grid, cutouts, envelopes, Heidi Swapp flag paper clips, Flea Market pouch kit, rub on foil kit, sticker foil kit – alpha and words, wood veneer, ring binder reinforcements, glitter stickers.

JOY

Kim Archer - The Jot Team I LOVE Heidi products! In this mini layout, I have used layer upon layer of Heidi Swapp patterned paper, cards and embellishments make up this mini 6x8 layout for my Project Life album. I also added a ton of messy machine stitching and a few spatters of teal Color Shine to my kraft cardstock background.

Use Heidi’s ColorShine to add colour to lace trim by spritzing the colour onto the lace, mopping up the excess with paper towel and allowing to dry. Coat the back and front of the lace with ink. Once dry, attach to your layout or papery project!

THE GOOD LIFE

Jamie Pate - The Jot Team Heidi Swapp’s Wanderlust range practically makes itself. With all those coordinating pieces, it is easy to make a tag for any occasion.

US

Mardi Winen - The Jot Team A gorgeous selection of Heidi Swapp layers, misting and now and then photos from Jot Girl Mardi.

SIMPLY

Kim Jeffress - The Jot Team I love using the Heidi Swapp Project Life cards on my layouts. On this layout I used my vintage typewriter to type out my journaling then attached it to my layout. I used some Bronzer color shine to add some splashes of colour to my Project Life card and layout.
