It’s the holiday season! Last year was my first time completing Ali Edward’s December Daily album holiday tradition. Ali’s idea is to document the daily festivities in the lead up to Christmas Day. I’m a big believer in documenting the everyday and recording daily happenings -- hence why I designed Jot Magazine in the first place -- so I’m incredibly drawn to the whole concept of December Daily. Last year I was pretty slow off the blocks. I was so indecisive and totally over thinking and complicating something that didn’t need to be complicated. I dithered and agonised over every. single. decision. What album to use? Will I print my photos or have them processed? What size album? Will I do a digital or hybrid version? Pocket pages or mini book? Eventually, I made the decisions and got moving! But by then it was mid December. I was mighty proud of myself though as I actually FINISHED the album!

This year I am armed with more experience PLUS a kit from Studio Calico which I’m banking on to make things easier. This issue we welcome Jodie York who shares with us her 2012 December Daily album process. Jodie had a difficult Christmas period where her children were away from her for parts of December for the very first time ever and she found that doing December Daily was an excellent way for her to get through a tough few weeks. I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Jodie’s album. It’s a truly beautiful keepsake and we take a peek at Jodie’s album in her article here on page 50>> We also meet blogger Lory Bucaria and Kellie Stamps designer, Kellie Winnell plus we have projects galore, layout galleries overflowing with inspiration and plenty of ideas for this festive season. ADVENT BAGS

<<using vellum Use vellum to create a see-through pocket and fill with confetti and your date number. Stitch around all sides to seal, enclosing your confetti inside.

First things first... Once you have gathered all your supplies together, it’s time to create a tag for each day you would like to have an Advent bag. For this project, I created 25 tags, one for each of the days leading up to Christmas. Your tags can be made from all sorts of supplies and are a great way to use up any off cuts you may have in your paper crafting stash. I’ve used a mix of shipping tags, cardstock, vellum pockets and random pieces of patterned paper plus cardstock. Have fun mixing and matching supplies.

decorating your tags Small wooden pegs are great for holding bits and pieces together on your tag.

Pages of sheet music paper, paper doilies and mini playing cards are fun elements to use on your tags.

Stamp on your tags and add the date to the centre of the stamp.

Machine stitching is a fun and easy way to attach embellishments to your tags.

And now your tags are all finished - one for each day of December leading up to Christmas Day. These tags will look beautiful pegged to your Advent bags, but they also double as awesome gift tags or daily additions for your December Daily albums. I always grab the tags as soon as my children rip open the bags - besides, they are much more interested in the goodies inside!

With your tags finished, gather supplies for the Advent bags. You will need 25 paper bags, Christmas goodies, candy, small toys and Advent activities.

My kids love trying to guess what will be in each bag! I like to include some of our small Christmas toys, small cookie cutters and candy.

Home Made Wrapping Paper Kim Stewart - The Jot Team

One thing I love to do is piece together several patterned papers to form my own sheet of wrapping paper. It’s a personal and very simple project and the results are always different. I think I spend the most time cutting different sized squares and piecing them in the right spots. TIP | Instead of using up your patterned papers you can make copies on thin copy paper to use for this project. Thin paper is easier to tape together and wrap around a box or other package. When you’re done just add your own homemade bow or gift tag!

Create your own wrapping paper using Christmas stamps! To get this look I used a VersaMark ink pad and randomly stamped this cute reindeer all over the paper. So quick and easy! The Versa Mark ink pad gives a subtle watermark image on the kraft paper but you could use any coloured ink you like. Then finish off your gift with a pretty fabric bow, add a gift tag then tie on some jingle bells and your gift will sound festive too! Glassine Gift Bag

I love the see through nature of the glassine bag so just a sneak of a gift can be seen inside. I trimmed some Heidi Swapp patterned paper into a large banner then layered over some cardstock and more patterned paper. Using a stapler I attached the feathers to the top of the bag and added foam dots to the banner. I then simply clipped this cluster to the top of the bag with the peg. Easy. Super Simple Gift Bags

I like simple. I like easy. I found a pack of Kraft Paper bags at KMart and knew they would be handy for some simple Christmas wrapping. Loading the bag into my typewriter I added in the text. I used some dictionary paper to stamp on my Christmas tree. Once all glued together, I added in a button and sealed the bag with a bulldog clip and the job was done. Every Christmas I like to think of a different way to wrap our Christmas gifts. This year, for our two nephews, I decided to go with a stamped look on the gift wrapping. I like the bright and funky appearance of this design! jotmagazine.com 28

SUPPLIES | brown paper, white paper (I used the roll of white craft paper from IKEA), stamps (I used a GlitzDesign roller stamp for one gift and a triangle acrylic stamp from Cocoa Daisy on the other), red and green inkpads, twine.

Both gifts were wrapped in brown paper. I stamped onto two strips of white paper using different stamps for each and alternating between red and green inks. I then wrapped the stamped white strip of paper around each gift and tied it up with coloured twine and the gifts were done! <<PAINT CHIP TAGS | I attached the buttons to a circular punched piece of patterned Christmas paper. I sewed on a vellum pocket to the paint swatch, filled it with Christmas coloured sequins, then sewed all the way around the pocket to seal. To finish, I attached the button circle to the centre of the vellum pocket with foam adhesive tape.

How I organised myself and started to enjoy the process of Project Life instead of feeling overwhelmed and frustrated.

Sitting at my desk with an hour or two up my sleeve and all my supplies spread out in front of me, I was ready to dive into what I knew could be an amazing and easy way to share my photos and tell the story of our family. I was starting Project Life - memory keeping. Pocket style. I had the divided page protectors, the gorgeous journaling cards, a rainbow of journaling pens and a whole bookcase of scrapbooking supplies. This was going to be easy.

It took just five minutes to realise my photos were all wrong as my photo orientation didn’t suit my pocket page protectors. My journaling cards were lovely but so plain and it just felt foreign to be memory keeping in this new pocket style way. The process wasn’t coming together easily and if it wasn’t feeling simple and easy now then how on earth was I going to be able to do this every single week. Frustrated, I put my supplies aside, my hopes of diving into Project Life and the pocket style of scrapbooking were dashed! It took me a few weeks to work out a plan. A plan that didn’t include the pressure of a weekly entry. A simple plan that allowed me to add pages in my own time frame and a plan that included traditional scrapbook pages as well as Project Life pocket style ones. Once I worked out my “plan” it’s been easy ever since. Here’s what helped me get over the overwhelm stage and into documenting my family’s life, pocket style. jotmagazine.com 34

photography Photography was the first area I needed to tweak. I needed to let go of the idea that every photo would be a stellar shot from my DSLR and realise that it didn’t matter if most of my photos were going to come from my phone’s camera. Working in this way I realised I can capture so many more images of my day to day, the little details that really make Project Life special. My problem of photo orientation was solved by limiting my choice to just two styles of page protectors and creating photo collages which allowed me to place multiple images into one photo space.

Printing | I found that

the best way to have the photos I needed exactly when I needed them was to print my photos at home. It did work out to be a little more expensive compared to having my photos processed at a chain store but it is just so convenient. I found I was wasting time trying to plan the photos I wanted to have processed so I didn’t feel I was wasting my trip to the photo lab. My portable Epson Picture Mate has certainly been a life saver.

Weekly? Monthly? Working with a time line. If you struggle with chronological memory keeping, a Project Life album can stop you in your tracks. And that was another hurdle I needed to face. Documenting life with a time line involves organisation and planning and this felt limiting so I decided to take a more casual approach that included a mixture of the everyday and feature special days like birthdays but still keep my album in chronological order without being a weekly chore.

Simplify the supplies

Keeping my supplies super simple helps to keep the look of my album cohesive without the overwhelm of too much product.

I chose a few favourite products plus a Project Life core kit or two, some washi tape, a few flat embellishments like wood veneer and flair buttons and my journaling pen. A small and lovely grouping of supplies also makes it easy to also take my project to another room in the house or to a scrapbooking retreat with friends.

don’t get stuck on the one page. Being a traditional scrapbooker, I needed to rethink how a page worked. Project Life albums are an evolving collection of memories with just three elements - photos, words and design that combine to make a finished page, not a group of static pages.

Each of these elements can be worked on separately. I find that I spend some time editing photos for a few pages and pop them in my album. Another day I may go back and add in my journaling cards and then add in a few decorative elements. I’ve found this method allows me to keep working on my album without being caught up in worrying about keeping up to date.

mix and match I still adore making traditional scrapbooking pages but was puzzled how to incorporate Project Life pocket pages with my layouts.

It adds interest to my album and allows me to still indulge that love for traditional scrapbooking.

I didn’t really want to have several albums on the go at once so I decided to keep a mix of layouts and pocket pages in the one album. This way, I am still continuing with my usual scrapbooking of layouts but mixing those pages in with my pocket pages.

It also means that while I keep my Project Life pages very simple, I can explore techniques and other fun things on my traditional layouts which satisfies that creative urge to try techniques and to add more detail to a page.

I rarely, if ever, add computer journaling to my Project Life pages. I want to keep my process as simple as possible and for me that means using my own hand writing. I believe that becoming confident in your own style is the key to really enjoying the process of putting together a yearly album. Keeping it casual, using products that make me happy and recording what is important to our family has really helped me not only tackle this Project Life process but to enjoy it.

Here’s one of my cards for this year and a simple step by step tutorial so you can make your own glittery Christmas card.

1 Die cut several snowflakes out of red glitter paper.

2 Stamp sentiment in red ink onto a piece of cardstock, trimmed at an angle.

3 Layer snowflakes on the top portion of

card base. Use dimensional adhesive for some of your snowflakes to add height. Add a strip of glitter paper to the bottom of your card.

4 Pierce holes in cardstock, thread twine and tie into a bow. Add another snowflake.

5 Adhere stamped panel to card base. Add enamel dots to complete your card.

Kellie Winnell Kellie Stamps

Kellie Winnell lives with her family in the little country Australian town of Seymour. “I have been here since I was about 8.” Kellie says, “I truly love this little town, and I can not see us going anywhere anytime soon. KELLIE STAMPS

Kellie designs and manufactures a range of stamps under the brand name Kellie Stamps.

“Kellie Stamps started late November 2012, but started as Give a Girl a...”. Kellie says, “I wanted the name to somehow tie in with my blog title, Give a Girl a Blog. However, in September this year I decided that name just wasn’t suiting and so my business became Kellie Stamps. I am rather happy with the name and think it just clicks well.” Unsure exactly what inspired her to start her own stamp business, Kellie says one of the main reasons was the lack of stamps available in Australia with our wording and spelling.

“For example,” Kellie explains, “Mum and not mom and the spelling of the word favourite and also my plan was to release stamps according to our own seasons here in Australia.” While Kellie has been in business only a short time she is thrilled with how her stamps have been received and the positive feedback from customers saying how much they enjoy using them and love the high quality of each stamp. “What is also surprising is that I get orders not just within Australia, but worldwide and often the orders are for the heavily based Australian themed sets.” jotmagazine.com 45

Another exciting dream that has come to fruition for Kellie is the recent release of her very first set of wood mounted stamps. “I am so excited to finally be getting rubber wood mounted stamps, designed by me.” Kellie says. “I have many more designs ready for release in January 2014. It’s all very exciting to see one of my main goals happen.”

With new stamps released every month, except December, Kellie aims to bring out at least 2-3 new releases a month and she is currently gearing up for her January releases. Kellie Stamps can be used for Project Life, scrapbooking, card making and more and are designed primarily for Australian stampers but have been embraced world wide.

“My stamps are forever changing as is my style, so I think you get a variety to suit every stamper. I am very dedicated to listening to my customers and what they would like to see in the future, I take everything on board and while I may not produce something in the next month or so, as I aim to be a few months ahead, they will see it.” Kellie says she loves nothing more than designing new stamp sets. “I find that if I am struggling with a design then it’s either a stamp set to save and come back to or a set that needs to be removed completely.”

Where does the inspiration come from when designing stamps? “To be honest I grab my scrapbooking albums and Project Life pages and flick through and look at the photos, the situations, the events and I go from there.” Kellie says, “My favourite stamp sets are those that just flow.” While Kellie has recently celebrated her first year in business, she still battles the nerves with each new release. “Will people like them? Will they sell? What if people don’t like them? This and many other things run through my mind before every release,” she says, “I also love seeing the stamps pop up on blogs, Facebook and Instagram on people’s creations. I love, love seeing how people use the stamp sets I design.”

We freeze time in our captures, tell our stories and create visual diaries for ourselves and for all around us. We’ve all heard the ever so true spiel that “…documenting our lives and the lives of the people around us is a wonderful way to capture those everyday moments that might otherwise go unnoticed or be taken for granted. Capturing these moments helps us to appreciate and love those smaller, everyday events, not just the larger ones…”

I constantly and enthusiastically tell this to one and all who want to find out more about this craft. Memory keeping is part of my life, in one form or another. I am a passionate believer in the art of memory keeping.

This craft is so much more then combining a photo with a story. It involves so much more than the tangible acts of taking photos, compiling a story, and sticking down embellishments and patterned papers. It requires commitment, heart and love. This craft enriches our life. Telling our story gives us a voice. It gives us responsibility. It fills us with another worthwhile and meaningful purpose and it gives us ownership and an amazing creative outlet. I know that for me, telling my story and the story of my family, has helped me get through some pretty tough times in the last little while. It’s been an emotional outlet and it has been proof that time does, in fact, march on. When my life gets a bit challenging around here I look back through my Project Life albums, my daybooks and my scrapbook pages and I am quietly reminded of how far my family and I have come, in particular the last couple of years. I am reminded that there have been so many wonderful moments in my every day and ever changing life. Christmas 2012 was my first time completing a December Daily project and it was also the first Christmas that I spent alone without my children. My four babes were spending time with their dad. The kids and I had never had a Christmas apart. Ever. It was awful. It was lonely. It was heartbreaking. When I did have my babes with me and my family around me I made sure that I captured every moment I had with them. When they were gone and my house was abnormally quiet and lonely I went through all of the photos and started to put my project together, documenting our December. jotmagazine.com 53

I absorbed myself in the process of creating the story of our Christmas. I would create just a few days at a time. Creating, writing, reflecting, and at times, having a good old girly cry keep me going through December.

I didn’t include every single thing that happened during those first 25 days of December. I decided to focus on one story per day. There were just too many stories to tell. The stories that didn’t make it into my December Daily were popped in my Project Life album. I included stories like the going up of the Christmas tree, the kids school Christmas fair, Christmas cooking, Christmas gifts I made, twinkle lights we put up, rehearsals for the Christmas concert, Christmas notes and cards to and from the kids, Christmas shopping, the wrapping of presents and family get togethers.

My December Daily Process I filled a spare 6x8 brown SN@P! binder with a variety of 6x8 SN@P! plastic page protectors to form my pages. I used a mixture of embellishments including flair badges, glitter thickers, vellum and overlays. I loved using stamps and die-cuts. I kept a general theme of colours focusing on gold, red, black and teal. And I used my sewing machine on pretty much every page protector, creating lots of confetti pockets full of sparkly sequins, wood veneers, punch outs and buttons. I hadn’t planned to do December Daily last year. I basically fell into it in order to find a focus when I felt lost without my brood. The process inspired me to be more ready and organised this year. But I’ve taken that inspiration one step further collaborating with Kellie of Kellie Stamps. We have come up with a December Daily kit called Documenting December. Our kit is completely designed around an Australian Christmas.

Whether you work with a kit or use pieces already in your paper crafting stash, why not get involved in this wonderful project. I wanted to document a very special time we shared as a family in the lead up to Christmas 2011. I decided to surprise the kids with a trip to Adelaide to see the Christmas pageant in real life for the first time. I had secretly bought plane tickets, booked accommodation, packed their suitcases and loaded them in the car with them being none the wiser. I woke them up very early and told them that they would not be going to school that day and that they had to get ready as we were catching a plane to see the Christmas pageant. Their shocked and then excited faces were priceless.

“Handmade Christmas” Anna Allan - The Jot Team

A tradition every Christmas season, is to make at least one new decorative item to add to our home or Christmas tree. This layout highlights a few creative projects I completed for our 2012 Christmas. I created some crochet edging to include. It was a rather different but fun experience crocheting into my hole punched cardstock. I also used a transparency sheet to journal on and layered that over my title. I added extra journaling by including some pockets behind each photo section and slipping in some tags.

The Christmas Letter

For the last few years, sixteen years to be exact, I have written an annual Winen Christmas letter. It’s a re-cap of the happenings in our life, any milestones, achievements or memorable occasions and I always include a few of my favourite photos too. I pop the letter into the Christmas cards I write and there are a few dear friends who get a copy via email as well. The most special and unforeseen part of this is that I now have a collection of these letters myself. I have filed them all in a display folder year by year along with any other letters we receive each year. Lisa Rukin Swift, Webster, NY Lisa says, “There were fewer gingerbread houses on exhibit this year, so the George Eastman House atrium was filled with holiday trees of all shapes and sizes. Each one was decorated differently and had its own theme. This was one of my favourites, with all its pretty snowflakes, bead garland, and snowmen. The room seemed magical with all of the decor and sparkling lights.”

Lory Bucaria lives in Naples, in the south of Italy with her husband and she blogs regularly on her Love Scrap Life blog. She loves making mini books, scrapbook layouts and Project Life spreads. “2013 is the first year I make Project Life and I fall in love with it,“ Lory says.

How long does it take to put together a Project Life spread? I usually take a day to make a Project Life spread because I am a very slow scrapbooker. I love details and I really love to write a lot and share what I have lived and the story I’m telling. Are you up to date with Project Life or are you always playing catch up? I had for many years a scrapbooking online shop in Italy with one of my best friends and I have organized an international convention for 4 years here in Italy called the Paper and Co Show Italy that was a super exciting and amazing experience that I’ll never forget. Were you always creative as a child? Yes I always remember that when I was a child I loved to draw fashion models and I was really able. I loved to color and paint but I was really a good child and never painted on a home wall, LOL! What is your favourite colour combination? My favorite colour combo is white with either pastel or bright colours - it depends on my mood and the photo and the story behind it. I really love pink, mint, turquoise, yellow and grey What is the best thing about scrapbooking? The best thing about scrapbooking is to have had the big luck to meet amazing persons all over the world. Scrapbooking has shown me how the world is so little and how we are all the same and how together, we can change things and create a wonderful world. To share our passion for good things like this hobby is, scrapbooking is really one of the best things of my life. I couldn’t imagine my life without it. I am thankful for all the amazing moments lived thanks to this wonderful hobby and how many persons I have met that have helped me during bad moments.

Let’s start misting>> 1 SPLATTER BACKGROUNDS | Inks are

great for adding “splodges” of colour to your layout background. Here I splattered some of my mists directly onto my cardstock by unscrewing my mist bottle and tapping the straw tube part with my finger for a “splattered” effect. I used two mists - Mr Huey’s: Dewey and Maya Road: Bubblegum.

2 TAG TITLES | For my tag title, I used

a shipping tag and attached some old chipboard letters in place. Colour is misted on top and using the splatter technique, I

added a contrasting colour. Once dry, the letters are peeled off to reveal the title.

3 FINISHING OFF YOUR LAYOUT | To

complete my layout, I layered scraps of patterned paper under my photograph and attached my tag title.

4 I added a length of twine to my tag hole and added in a few strips of washi tape.

A few banner type strips tucked over and under my photo along the right hand side and some scattered buttons, sequins and enamel dots complete my layout.

LEFT: Make your own Ombre Paper | Tear out a book page and lightly spray all over with water. Spray most of the mist at the top of the page, and drag the colour down the page with the wet brush. Set aside to dry before adding to your projects. I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on this paper.

RIGHT: In my December Daily album I needed some teal coloured letters but I didn’t have any on hand. However, I did have plain chipboard Thickers so I dipped my paint brush in the open bottle of mist and painted my letters so they coordinated with my project. You can also try this method with foam Thickers letter stickers.

I took a slightly different approach to this challenge and asked my son who just loves to paint and draw to create a background for me with my watercolour paints. Of course he jumped at the chance. I snapped some photos of him while he was painting because I wanted to celebrate this trait of his. Once his painting was dry, I laid it under some thick books to flatten it out over night. Trimming the edges slightly I mounted his art work on a piece of thick patterned paper for stability.

I began my layout by using a Prima mask and applying gesso to the background (which I have proceeded to mainly cover anyway - whoops). I then went around this and highlighted the design with pink watercolours. The main yellow watercolour section is created using Gelatos which I watered down before applying. I also splashed it on and allowed areas to drip. I tried a different ‘watercolour’ technique by applying a Gelato directly to a stamp, spraying it with water and stamping it directly onto my page. “Snapshot”

Kim Stewart - The Jot Team I always love painting and adding splatters with watercolor, but I never like my paper to warp so I used to refrain from using too many different mediums on a layout. For this one I used my watercolors and splattered them on a page and then cut it up into small squares to use for the background. I actually had an accident with the sequins falling on the page and I thought “how pretty” so I machined stitched them under a little tulle on my page.

For this layout, I wanted my watercolors to be the main color of my page. I decided to use a neutral background patterned paper to matte my cardstock and then chose a black and white photo of my daughter. The teal of the watercolour really adds to the contrast of the page. I created this page using watercolour paper which meant two things: 1) It absorbed the way paint should (rather than buckling the paper or soaking right in) and 2) It was A4 size which meant I could run it through my printer! By painting the background first I was able to get an idea of the page design and placement of the elements.

As it was sitting at my desk I looked over and thought that wet paper towel is so pretty with all the colours blending into the fibres. I created a bow and added it to the layout. I had a great time playing around with the watercolour effect on the background of this layout. I used watered down acrylic paint and firstly used brush strokes horizontally and vertically over the page, then added pools of watery paint and used a straw to blow it out towards the edge of the page. For extra sparkle, I sprinkled glitter onto the wet paint.

photo>> not aphoto? When it’s also a card you can adapt to any occasion..

STORY + PHOTOS | Sian Fair

This project began, not with photos or supplies, but with biscuits: heart shaped, bought in Ikea, brought home and photographed by me because they looked so pretty.

And then because I had a new packet of printer paper I began experimenting with printing my photos in different sizes. Approximately thirty two heart shaped biscuits later I discovered fitting four pictures onto a 6x4 inch print worked best: cute, but still easy to see. Then, just as I was wondering what to do with all those copies, the postman delivered my Project Life kit. (Not that I do Project Life. I just can’t resist the smaller embellishments and journaling cards.)

As I admired those cards, I realised they looked like little postcards. Or tags. Instead of slipping them into pocket page protectors, I could tie them to parcels, prettied up with some of those smaller embellishments and, oh, some tiny photos.

shaped cookies from Ikea led Sian to start experimenting with what she could do with her pretty photos. • Printing four of the same image onto 4x6inch photo paper worked best and soon Sian had a stack of photos and a project in mind! • Sian loves Project Life kits because of their smaller embellishments and cards.

The first card I made was a Valentine’s Day card (inspired by the heart shaped biscuits, of course), but we’re heading towards Christmas, so I’ve made a new more Christmasy set of cards.

Tiny photos work best with one or two subjects only: the image has to be crisp because you won’t see it close up, so sharpen carefully and I added a border straight from my printer for more definition.

I used (Citrus Twist) Project Life kit – 3x4 and 6x4 journaling cards, a 6x6 paper pad and matching embellishments. I looked to its colour palette of cream, soft red and blue to choose extras from my stash of doilies, ribbons and thread. The shapes have been cut with the Mistletoe Slice Design Card.

Each tag begins with a journaling card onto which I built up layers. They’re meant to look handmade, so don’t be afraid to have bits peeping over the edges.

The Details | Add texture with machine stitching, tie bows, layer on lace! I wrapped a doily round one card, folded a bigger card in half to make another.

This Makes Me Happy

Working on busy print cardstock can be tricky as you can easily lose a photo in the busy-ness of the print. I love the blended look so I try to find a happy medium. I achieved this by using a crackle medium in the section where my photo was to be placed. This not only crackles, it also is slightly translucent allowing you not to lose the background print entirely. I then used a black felt tip pen to doodle in the corners, added a few rub ons, staples, sequins and my journaling. I created a large vellum pocket to house my sequins. I trimmed the vellum then used my machine to stitch around the edge of three sides before filling it with sequins and letters cut with my Big Shot die cutting tool ( to go with my school theme). I then sewed up the fourth edge to seal.

I used a Project Life 6x4” card, cut out the hearts, sewed on transparent film, added sequins, stitched up the opening and added the card cutout over the top. I then also used the hearts I cut out on the lower part of the layout as well.

I added different sizes and styles of sequins in pastel shades to add some sparkle and bling to the layout but still keep the softer look I was going for.

I love me a lot of sparkle and shine and sequins create that look perfectly. I handmade the flower embellishments using embossed paper and stitching on some thrifted vintage fabric as the flower centres. I have been giving myself pep-talks about being more brave in using my own handwriting on the page and this time I actually incorporated some lettering into my self-drawn border. Don’t know how the heck I came up with that idea but I do so like surprising myself!

Family Time

I used a mini Colourbox inkpad and inked nine circles onto kraft cardstock. For my photos I chose a variety of favourite things I love and used the app Diptic to collage them all on my iPhone. Once arranged, I printed them out as a 6x6� square photo. The small photos within the collage were perfect for a 1 3/8� circle punch-out. It was then a matter of finding embellishments to go with each photo circle. It was pretty much creating mini circular layouts on a page! I had loads of fun! Theres an app called HP Live Photo where you can upload your video onto the app, save, email and print it. Then open the app and hover over the symbol and watch your photo come alive!! I use this with my projects all the time. My last project we went to an amusement park and I recorded a new roller coaster ride and used this app to add to my summer adventures. Pretty awesome.
