ATTENDEE GUIDELINES

Attendee Guideline This year’s theme ‘Enabling alignment and collaboration’ seeks to drive the message that the role of the modern day, transformative CIO is rapidly evolving at the same time, becoming the “CEO of Technology,” with organizations shifting from costcenters to service providers and revenue enablers. As part of this evolved role, the CIO needs to lead the charge that articulates the value of technology with the “why” metrics instead of being overly enamored with the technical “how.” CIOs need to be able to clearly articulate to the CEO and Board how their strategic initiatives are aligned and empowering the business as well as instill confidence in their C-suite peers, so they are viewed as a “trusted advisor” on many fronts.

AFRISECURE CYBER SECURITY TRACK

2019 will again feature the AfriSecure Cyber Security Track to address the mounting pressure and concern in the industry as cyber-attacks become more common and the amount of data stored online increases (not only in volume but also in sensitivity) most industries are naturally growing concerned at the exponential growth of cybercrime. This dedicated track aims to identify the challenges involved with keeping businesses and data secure from threats.

Financial IT also reflects the changing environment in business and operations when appropriate. It has been difficult for the media to reflect accurately the real values of technology, whether old or new, against the backdrop of aggressive development and marketing.
