LAND USE & ZONING

Every five years, King of Prussia District performs a location analysis of the largest commercial centers in the Philadelphia suburbs to measure our total tax burden on businesses of varying sizes and industries relative to competitive jurisdictions. The 2022 report showed that Upper Merion Township ranked third lowest in terms of total tax burden on business. This ranking is the culmination of more than a decade where Upper Merion has not raised real estate taxes thanks, in large part, to its substantial commercial tax base relative to neighboring jurisdictions.

“COMPETING AGAINST LOW COST, LOW AMENITY JURISDICTIONS AND HIGH COST, HIGH AMENITY JURISDICTIONS IN THE REGION, UPPER MERION TOWNSHIP IS WELL POSITIONED AS A LOCATION OF CHOICE BECAUSE IT OFFERS WHAT EMPLOYERS AND EMPLOYEES WANT WHILE SUSTAINING A LOW TAX BURDEN.”
