In August 2022, Upper Merion Area School District opened the doors to a 300,000 SF, $150M state-of-the-art high school, serving students from 6th through 12th grade. The award-winning building features a three-story academic wing with a STEAM based center and multiple project and team-based spaces. The facility also features an indoor track, indoor pool, fitness center, a 650-seat performing arts complex, and a two-story student commons which is utilized for multiple activities throughout the day. The District is in the process of demolishing the old high school, where they will install new turf fields.

SELECT UMASD 2022/2023 ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Moody's upgraded Upper Merion Area School District’s Credit Rating to Aaa from Aa1. UMASD became one of seven Districts in Pennsylvania and one of 91 Districts in the Country to earn this top tier credit rating. The District saves millions of dollars in interest expense as a result of its strong credit rating.

• All seven UMASD schools implemented Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with fidelity. PBIS is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success and school climate.
