We need to collect 40 empty jam jars with lids over the next 3 weeks so if everyone could save there's and pass it on to Abi that would be great. With the visibility and adverts that went out at the fun day being a success we really need your help. There is a sign up rota in the notice board up to volunteer for Thirst. It's really easy, jobs may include helping set up and pack away, talking to youth about there weeks, Helping with crafts, playing Xbox or table tennis or pool with them and making sure they are in a safe environment. I'll be there all the time so if your ever unsure I can help. Please commit to a date, we're desperate. Thanks Abi Fincham Youth Worker

‘Kathleen Rutland Home for the Blind monthly service.‘ A reminder for those taking part, or who would like to join the group, that the next service will take part on Sunday 12th October from 5.30pm ‘til 6pm. There are fewer folks going along to take part in these regular services, please take time to consider if you could spare half an hour to join them. It is a really vital time for the residents, who do enjoy the singing, and especially the brief chat with us afterwards. Thank you for your support. Gillian Wisdish - coordinator October’s Service is a Tradition Harvest Thanksgiving service led by the Armson Avenue House Group. If you like singing Harvest songs please come and join us, I am sure the residents will appreciate your presence.

Walking the Building

ReCreation Room What to pray for? There are so many possible things. Wise decisions: choices have to be made in the planning of the building, the decoration and equipping of the room, and in the building process. Pray for Bob K and the rest of the planning team, that we spend the money wisely and produce a resource that is a blessing for many years to come. A clear vision – we need to know what God is asking us to do in here. There have been dozens of good ideas, but we will have to start somewhere, and it’s important that we listen to God’s prompting. Pray for insights from the Spirit that we might identify the right ‘first steps’ when it comes to ministering in this room. Outstanding support. Whatever we do will need the committed efforts of teams of helpers. Pray for the vision to be caught – that this room can be a bridge into our community – and for the people to be willing.

God – grant us wisdom to make the right contacts with people in the community to make use of the facilities of the room we are creating. The touch of the Master’s hand. For this to be a place where the peace of God is felt, where the love of God is displayed, where the presence of God is revealed. For all of this to happen takes so much more than our effort or resources – it takes the touch of the Master’s hand. Lord God – let your glory fall in this place. Let this be a room where you are present. Do astonishing things here, we ask. May hearts be changed here, lives be transformed here, and broken people made whole here. Jesus – be welcomed here.

Church Caretaker. The Deacons are pleased to announce that Richard Jurenko has been appointed church caretaker, and will take up the post from 29th September. Thanks, Paul.
