Does your home have a backflow prevention device? Water is normally maintained at a significant pressure to enable water to flow in your household from the tap, shower, etc. However, if that changes, a backflow prevention device will protect your water system from contamination. You can also install a backflow prevention device for your sewer. In the event of a sewer backup, this device will allow water and other materials to escape from the cleanout rather than flow into your home. This simple device can prevent both damage to your home and the subsequent property cleanup. For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 660.627.1291.

A flower arrangement is often used to remember those we’ve lost.

Flowers in Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery Spring is here, and we want to remind you of the Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery Flower Policy. All artificial flowers, wreaths on a stand, and headstone sprays that have been placed throughout the winter must be removed by April 1, 2021. You are welcome to place new headstone sprays, fresh cut flowers, and artificial flowers contained in a permanent vase, attached to the marker, as they are permitted year-round. However, they are subject to removal by City staff when they become soiled, weathered, or displaced by a storm. Holiday flowers placed on a grave for Memorial Day or Independence Day are encouraged, but must be removed two weeks after each holiday, or they will be removed by City staff. Prohibited decorations include, but are not limited to, solar lights, shepherd hooks of any size, statues, figurines, vases, pottery, ceramics, wind chimes, decorative rocks, wood chips, landscape timbers, furniture, Christmas trees, ornaments, trinkets, adornments, borders, flag poles, and banners. For more information, contact the City Clerk at 660.627.1225.
