Sales Tax Holiday: Shop Kirksville for all your back-to-school needs!
For Back-To-School, Shop Kirksville and Save! It might be hard to believe, but it’s time to start shopping for back-to-school! Take advantage of the City’s Sales Tax Holiday and save on all your back-to-school needs! During the Sales Tax Holiday, you will pay no sales tax on qualifying back-to-school purchases in Kirksville! Qualifying items include: school supplies (not to exceed $50 per purchase); clothing (any article having a value of less than $100); software (taxable value of $350 or less); personal computers or computer peripherals (not to exceed $1,500); and graphing calculators (not to exceed $150). The Sales Tax Holiday runs from 12:01 am, Friday, August 3, 2018, through Sunday, August 5, 2018.
Tune in the first Friday of each month, to facebook.com/cityofkirksville, at 4:00 pm, for “What’s Up This Month?”! This new program, via Facebook Live, features various City officials discussing a variety of topics, all to let you, the citizen, know what is going on with your local government!

Aquatic Center Update!
We want to thank the hundreds of citizens who took the time to complete the Aquatics and Community Center Survey over the course of nearly two months! During that time, over 650 surveys were completed, and that information has been crunched, compiled, and given to the City Council as part of their decision-making process! You are invited to attend the second Community Open House for the new aquatic center and proposed programming space on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Economic Development Alliance Building at 315 S. Franklin St.! Come provide your input on the proposed site plan as well as what amenities YOU would like to see at your new aquatic center, from slides and swim lanes, to lockers and parking!

On the next page, click “Submit a Service Request” and follow the on-screen prompts to report a problem! This process ensures the issue is brought to the attention of the appropriate City department and that the issue is addressed. You can even ask to be sent status updates regarding your issue via email, text message, or telephone call!

Recycling Is Easy! Recycling is easy in Kirksville! It reduces waste in our creeks and waterways, protecting our environment, and ultimately, our drinking water! Isn’t it important to protect the water we drink? For cans, paper, and plastic, Advanced Disposal picks them up curbside every two weeks along with your trash. Be sure to call Advanced Disposal at 800.778.7652 to signup! For glass recycling, simply visit City Hall at 201 S.
