Time to Get Your Shovels Out! We would like to remind you that when winter weather comes, please be prepared to shovel your public sidewalks! City ordinance requires either the tenant or owner of a property remove snow and ice from public sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of a snow event. If you are a tenant, you should have an understanding with your landlord about who is responsible. We see more and more people using public sidewalks for exercise, recreation, and walking to work or school. Please be considerate of your neighbors and ensure your sidewalks are clear! Preparation is key: be sure to have a good snow shovel and some ice melt handy. We thank you for your cooperation, and we’re sure your neighbors will thank you as well! For more information, contact the Codes Department at 660.627.1272.
