Meet Your City Council Candidates

The City’s Spring Brush and Limb Pick-Up is scheduled for April 6 through 10, 2020!

You will have a chance to meet your candidates for City Council at the annual Candidates’ Forum, hosted by the Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce, on Thursday, March 19, 2020! This year's event will be held in room 151 of the Inter-Professional Education (IPE) building (more commonly known as the Dental School) on the campus of A.T. Still University. Candidates will be available to speak with the public at 5:30 pm, and the forum will begin at 6:00 pm.

City crews will begin picking up tree limbs and large brush on Monday, April 6, 2020.

Then, on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, citizens registered to vote will have the opportunity to select two individuals for the City Council. The candidates for City Council, in the order they will appear on the ballot, are: Rick Steele, Kevin A. Alm, Chuck Long, and Dana (Danny) McDowell .

Help beautify our community and get your lawn ready for spring and summer! For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 660.627.1291.

Although the work is expected to take the entire week, to guarantee pick-up, your brush must be placed curbside by 7:00 am, Monday, April 6, 2020.

If you’re not able to attend the Candidates’ Forum, you can watch the event online via Facebook Live! Simply visit facebook.com/cityofkirksville at the time of the event, or any time after that!

Daylight Savings Time is almost here! On Sunday, March 8, 2020, at 2:00 am, be sure to move your clock forward one hour to 3:00 am. When you do, be sure to also change the batteries in your smoke alarms!

@kirksvillecity

We would like to remind you that a smoke alarm with a dead or missing battery is the same as having no smoke alarm at all! Here are some tips to help ensure your smoke alarm protects you, your family, and your home:

@kirksvilleparks

Test your smoke alarm every month.

@kirksvillePD

Change the smoke alarm battery when you change your clocks.
