Liberty's kindergarteners brought in the "scents" of the season by making their very own gigantic gingerbread cookie. After learning it had escaped from the oven, these kindergarteners followed clues and went on a chase around the school and nally found their gingerbread man. They were the cutest cookies in town!!

A Look Inside Providence Grove High School Last year I was reached out by the county of ce to be a principal for a half day along side their current Principal Dennis Hamilton. I was excited to get to spend a day with the Partriots and see what makes this school so special in the little partof the county they call home at 5555 Mack Linberry Rd in Climax. As I pulled up to the school early that morning I saw some student taking pride in raising the ags for the day. I strolled in and buzzed the front door to be let in and and was greeted warmly by the front of ce staff full of smile and energy. Shortly later Principal Hamilton meet me and we began our day as he would. I was very impressed that he makes a point to visit in every classroom each day. What was more pleasant was the relationship and great spirit that was at each room we visited. You think about school and kids dreading to be there and instead I seen kids excited for the day. This school does have a unique spirit and its own energy. Along our stop we got to visit the gym and the new weight room. Both boys and girls were fully engaged in getting their daily workout in. The positive vibes radiated from that room and the students. I was also learning this room is used all day long and great to see our kids getting t and healthy. I got to meet rest of the admin staff. I got to spend some time with Emma Phillips Asst Principal during a test lockdown. First the lock down was explained to me and it was great to see the school so prepared in the case of an event. Asst Principal Phillips loves this school as we talked about it. I meet Ass. Principal Lee Miller in the hall. I have had the pleasure of meeting him early at sporting events thanks to Athletic Direct Cody Moran introducing us. Asst Prinicipal Miller really gets in with the excitement of the kids will passing them in the hall. Durning our lunch period I got to meet Asst Principal Alicia Timmons and this lady is class act and loved our brief talk. I loved the fact the the staff and students meld together as one force. Yes this school does have a life of its own and it is hard to explain. You have to witness it to appreciate it.

A Look Inside Providence Grove High School Continued The next part was lunch break and I got to meet the terri c ladies that prepare the meals. I was impressed that lots of local fresh foods are offered to the students. It was a breath of fresh air to see all the choices the kids and staff have. Next stop was some more class visits from masonry class actually laying bricks to the chorus / band area. The excitement never stopped. Parents you need to feel blessed to have your students attend at this establishment. I got to speak to several teachers likewise their passion for the school to the students was hard describe how they all take pride in PGHS and their roles. Another thing that impressed me was when the bell rings and changing of classes the admin makes a point to be in the halls to greet kids as they pass by. Everyone has great pleasantries to each other and the staff. In my day in schools year back this was mass chaos but not here at PGHS it was like a well oiled machine. It was cool to have some kids I had in the past church classes and youth make a point to some over to say hi as they passed by. As I have heard the saying THE GROVE referred to by many at PGHS …. Well this term means more to me now after being able to spend a day among them. I look forward to being back and visiting again, wether an athletic event, a choral , a talent show or just to stop in to say hi. This is a welcoming school. Keep up the great job everyone at Providence Grove High School and special thanks for the county to let me have this great opportunity.

Eric Staley is the New Clubroom Manager and has changed prices on Beverages, more stock, and has food on both nights. He has a food truck that is at the clubroom on Friday night ..........6:00p.m. 'til 8:00p.m.items are different prices. He has a menu that he puts out each week of what he is having on Facebook. The Club Room at Liberty American Legion We have several folks that used to come but I had not seen in a while. Cool question and answers So in 1861 this was the of cial map. In the Liberty area you see Troy's store and Longs Mill...anyone know where these places actually are now? I'm sure just a crossroads but just wondering. Mud Lick in Chatham County we will leave for another time . Reply by Warren Dixon ( great wealth of knowledge for our community ) Longs Mill was basically around the intersection of Richland Church Rd and Liberty Grove (Kimesville Rd.). The “Troy’s Store” post of ce moved around. The actual Troy’s Store was about where Col. Troy’s guest house is. The post of ce changed with politics. If the Republicans were elected and the postmaster was a Democrat, the postmaster job went to a Republican in the area. The name of the post of ce stayed the same. Liberty itself didn’t have its own post of ce until the railroad came through. Everyone got their mail at Troy’s Store post of ce. At one time, the Troy’s Store post of ce was actually near the old Roush Racing building on 49

Happy New Year from Liberty Ruritan
What a night of good food, fellowship, awards, games, and a little business we had at the Liberty Ruritan December Christmas Celebration. Liberty Ruritan met at Dry Dock for their December meeting where we inducted our new members: Jean Bullis and Greg Carpenter, and installed our new officers: President Arthur Moody, Vice President Lisa Brower, Treasurer YoLonda Moody, and Secretary Kevin Maness. The club also earned a Membership Growth Award that was presented by Johnny Johnson, Zone 1 District Governor. The Liberty Ruritan Club also recognized Andy Sykes for his many years of service as treasurer. What a blessing he has been and will continue to be to the club. Thank you to all the Ruritans for all you do to keep our community a safe and fun place to live! We look forward to working together as a group in 2024.
If you are interested in learning about the organization, please reach out to a member or feel free to attend a meeting. Meetings are typically held the first Monday night of the month at 7pm. Holidays sometimes require us to meet the second Monday of the month. Remember, the Liberty Ruritan Building is available to rent. Simply call 336-622-1995.
