Their routine includes regular visits from the doctor and the insipid Sylvia, who takes acting lessons from Madam. Life, for these ladies, is a well-regulated, peaceful experience until one day a surprise visitor arrives – Ursula, Madam’s estranged daughter… Hidden Meanings by Michael Snelgrove Rodney and George are to provide a dramatic interlude at the Sherlock Holmes Society’s annual congress. Events turn truly dramatic when George discovers the body of Rodney’s financial director, dressed as Moriarty, in Rodney’s cupboard. Singin’ in the Rain is set in the roaring ‘20s when silent movie stars are the biggest names in the world. Don Lockwood has it all – a string of hit films and a studio-engineered romance with the most beautiful actress in Hollywood – but with talking pictures on the way and a chance meeting with a talented chorus girl, things are about to change for Don and for Hollywood forever. Widely regarded as “the greatest movie musical of all time”, this stage version has been faithfully adapted for theatre performance and is filled with every memorable moment from the film as well as a downpour of unforgettable songs including “Good Morning”, “Make ‘em Laugh”, “Moses Supposes” and of course the title tune “Singin’ in the Rain”. You’d be Barking MAD to miss it!
Brand new, British musicals are few and far between - particularly those that can make you laugh and move you in equal measure. With strong characters, a lively and harmonious score, along with a feel-good approach to the storyline set in a background of 60s fashion and dance, IODS Productions is confident this musical show will win plenty of friends keen for a hugely entertaining evening out! Rita O’Grady works for the Ford Motor Co. plant in Dagenham, Essex. Despite performing the specialized task of sewing upholstery for car seats, women are classified as unskilled labour and paid much less than men. Encouraged by a sympathetic union representative, Rita leads the women of Ford Dagenham to stand up for their rights to achieve Equal Pay. This is a true story of a remarkable event in history told on a “conveyor belt of raucous fun”.

The year is 1905, and a Jewish community in Tsarist Russia is trying to eke out a living in its shtetl in the village of Anatevka. Faith and love inspire a generation and none more so than Tevye, a milkman who has a personal relationship with God in whom he confides all. He has five daughters, which in itself is a problem but, what is more pressing is trying to find husbands for his eldest three. Whatever wishes Tevye may have for his daughters, they have their own desires which will inevitably break with “Tradition”. Their stories highlight the differences between tradition and the ‘new way’ which the young favour. Anatevka itself is under threat and the Jews are being forced to leave their homes. Journey with them and their unforgettable music including “Matchmaker, Matchmaker”, “If I Were a Rich Man” and “Sunrise, Sunset” – Shalom Aleichem!

Like so many of his countrymen, Welsh born John Griffiths was destined for a respectable career as a teacher. But after years of facing down the Criminal Mixed of Greenford, another son of Swansea led him astray - he made his professional debut in a London production of Dylan Thomas’, Under Milk Wood. He’s since clocked up dozens of Shakespeares, plenty of panto dames, and theatrical masterpieces from Dickens to Agatha Christie. Even Africa hasn’t been spared John’s talents...though when starring in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Zambia he was threatened with deportation. But that’s another story.
Join the Palmerstone Stage School in this fun packed musical story, full of ‘spellbinding’ dance, drama and music. A wickedly witchy, wondrous tale not to be missed.
