Musical TMD SQUARED in conjunction with TJD & D Productions presents

by OLA ROTIMI

Thursday 17th - Saturday 19th September

7.30pm evenings & 3.00pm Friday matinee

The Gods Are Not To Blame is a classic post-colonial interpretation of Sophocles Oedipus Rex within the context of African culture written by the late Ola Rotimi. The destiny of the main character, Odewale, was predicted at birth to kill his father and marry his mother. His father, the King of Kutuje village ordered his messenger, Gbonka, to kill him, but he handed over the child to a childless farmer. Odewale grew up and was informed of his tragic destiny by an oracle. Believing he was living with his real parents, he hastens to prevent this and flees the village. In a conflict on the road he kills his father, the King, and then marries the widowed queen. Although a brave man with the strength of a lion, Odewale allowed his weakness to lead to his downfall. Set in the very heart of Africa, this play is presented as a musical, first of its kind and sure to keep you entertained ‘til the end.

HMM return to the KMT this autumn with the musical theatre favourite, Little Shop of Horrors. Best known for its 1986 film adaptation starring Ellen Greene, Steve Martin and Rick Moranis, the show is set in a run-of-the-mill New York florist. It follows the journey of reserved young assistant, Seymour, from his discovery of a rather unusual plant to his secret love for his co-worker, Audrey. A classic boy-meets-girl story...until the plant starts making angry, carnivorous demands! With iconic musical numbers such as ‘Somewhere That’s Green’, ‘Skid Row’ and ‘Suddenly Seymour’, this quirky musical comedy warms the heart, gets your feet tapping and makes you give teeth-baring plants a wide berth - all in one show. Don’t miss out!

A stage play by Ian Gower and Paul Carpenter Adapted from the original TV series by Richard Curtis and Paul Mayhew-Archer

Thursday 12th - Saturday 14th November 7.30pm evenings & 3.00pm Saturday matinee

Jack Productions is proud to present the KMT stage premiere of this well-loved TV show. Life in the sleepy Oxfordshire village of Dibley is turned upside-down when the ancient Reverend Pottle dies and the diocese sends a new-fangled female vicar, Geraldine Granger, as his replacement. Her arrival is met with a mixture of wonder and horror from the assorted collection of rural yokels who call Dibley home. Autocratic head of the Parish Council, David Horton, is particularly appalled, and when it becomes clear that Geraldine does not intend to play second fiddle, he resolves to have her removed. In the run-up to Verger Alice’s spectacularly silly wedding, even David must admit that Geraldine is the best thing to have ever happened to Dibley. Relive the arrival of the new Vicar, be part of the congregation for Alice’s hilarious wedding and meet again the many insane inhabitants of the quiet village of Dibley.

BROTHER WOLF presents

Friday 11th Sept

Sunday 25th Oct

In 1941, Rudolf Höss, Commandant of the Nazi concentration camp known as Auschwitz, assembled his SS personnel in a secret meeting with the express purpose of introducing a new method for exterminating Europe’s Jews: Zyklon B, a deadly poison gas. Every soldier in attendance was sworn to secrecy, and no one questioned its usage. Based upon actual events, A Lesson from Auschwitz reveals how and why the Nazis did what they did. Recommended For: Ages 14+

During his final lecture on the duality of man, the respectable Dr Jekyll reveals his strange association with the mysterious Edward Hyde and the shocking truth about his identity: that Hyde, unlike other human beings, is not only fundamentally evil, but also the very definition of it. Combining edge-of-your-seat thrills with stunning physical theatre, Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic “bogey tale” is brought chillingly to life in this award-winning one-man show.
