Access Hearing Aid Loop Headsets amplifying the sound from the stage are available to borrow from the Box Office. For patrons with hearing aids that incorporate the ‘T’ settings, necklace hearing loops are also available from the Box Office.

Theatre & Access Information

Wheelchair Users The Theatre is accessible to patrons in wheelchairs. There are accessible toilets and the auditorium has 4 wheelchair spaces. Please book these spaces when ordering your tickets.

Seating

The Theatre auditorium is built on steps. There are, however, 25 seats with no steps to climb. Please mention any special needs when booking.

For your safety & comfort Special Effects

Some shows may contain strobe lighting or smoke effects. Please ask at the Box Office for more information.

Children

For certain shows, babies and children under 3 years are welcome for a small fee and may share a seat with you. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Safety and Security

The Kenneth More Theatre premises are monitored by CCTV. The Kenneth More Theatre reserves the right to remove anyone creating a disturbance, whatever the cause.

Theatre hire

The Theatre facilities are available for hire for theatrical performances, conferences, charity events etc. The main stage has a full-height fly tower and a comprehensive set of lighting and sound equipment. The auditorium seats up to 358 people. We also have a number of other areas available; our Cowan Studio (which seats up to 50 people but does not have disabled access) and our downstairs Studio which is fully accessible. Car Parking

CitiPark are now operating the Clements Road multi-storey car park next to the Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre. They have upgraded the current systems with the latest technologies and brought in a new team to ensure security and to enable 24 hour access. There is ample space and it is reasonably priced.

Parking is also available in the Town Hall car park (immediately opposite the theatre ) on certain performance evenings. Please note, this is a ‘Pay & Display’ car park and no longer free to KMT patrons. There is also the Ley Street Multi Storey which is free after 7.30pm and manned. The entrance is situated on Ley Street behind the bus station.

The Box Office is open from 11am - 5.00pm Tuesday to Saturday. On performance days the Box Office closes 15 minutes after the start of the show.

In consideration of our patrons, latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable point in the performance which will be designated at the discretion of the Front of House staff.

In return we will be able to inform you of any major changes to your performance and the details of future events. Your details will only be used by the Theatre and not passed on to any third party.

The Wanstead Players are delighted to present Daphne du Maurier’s timeless story. In a Cornish house lives the widowed Stella, a woman of considerable gifts and beauty who regularly rejects proposals of marriage from her neighbour Robert Hanson. Cherry, Stella’s daughter, brings home her artist husband Evan for the first time and Stella is shocked by the bohemian incompleteness of their marriage. She finds herself attracted to Evan and soon they are passionately in love: although much is left unspoken, Evan eventually compels Stella to admit her feelings.

Set in 1887, the show boat ‘Cotton Blossom’ arrives at the river dock in Natchez, Mississippi with the Hawks family on board ready to entertain the local folks. The lives and loves of three generations are entwined and vividly depicted in a story that authentically portrays the background and atmosphere of America’s controversial past. The vibrancy of the musical is enhanced by a glorious score written by Jerome Kern including ‘Ol’ Man River’, ‘Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man’, ‘Bill’ and many more. First performed in December, 1927, Show Boat continues to captivate and inspire. Ground-breaking at the time, it was recognised as a new art form in American musical theatre. Check out this fantastic new addition to the usual KMT programme and make the KMT Cabaret a regular addition to your list of places to be and be seen! The shows begin at 8.00pm, but you will want to arrive earlier for drinks, appetizers and socialising. So join us and settle in for the perfect cabaret experience.
