FOUNDER & CEO
Launched in 2017, The KNOW WomenTM began as a way to bring more attention to dynamic women doing remarkable things in the Phoenix metro. We knew there were an outstanding number of women impacting the community and making big strides in their industries. Our goal was to get those women out from behind their computer screens and into the public eye. Thus, we created the KNOW Book, a carefully curated publication that would feature vision-led women in a glamorous and authentic style. As the momentum grew and we recognized the need for more, we launched our Collaborative around the women featured in our KNOW Book. Our mix & mingles soon ensued and we witnessed incredible things happening. We saw our women doing business with each other, creating friendships, supporting each other, collaborating on projects together, and so much more. What started as a fun project to spotlight women, has turned into a full-blown movement. The KNOW WomenTM has expanded beyond its birthplace of Phoenix, Arizona; its aim is to launch in every major city across the United States and Canada.

In February 2020, I made the announcement of becoming the Fort Myers Ambassador to one of the fastest-growing women’s collectives in North America. Although I knew it would be a big responsibility, nothing could have prepared any of us for what was in store for 2020. This year has taught us to appreciate human connection more than ever. Personally, the year has taught me the importance of “diving in” versus “sticking your toe in the water”. It has been an honor to get to know this diverse collective of professional women who have challenged the status quo and have embarked upon the journey of chasing their dreams. As much as we celebrate each individual, there are common values among every KNOW woman inside of this inaugural KNOW Fort Myers Book. They act in spite of fears, understand the power of collaboration, and have a “service-first” mentality. You are encouraged to connect with the 70+ women featured in this book so that we can ALL continue to move forward, no matter how calm or treacherous the water on our journeys may seem. I want to acknowledge our local team: Carey Ralston, Leigh Clark, Sarah Newcomb, Charlene Towe, Alma Bruffy, Alicia Miller (just to name a few) for their leadership and patience. First inspired by CEO Gordon Bethune’s leadership story that turned Continental Airlines from one of the worst performing to a model for the industry, Cheryl Reynolds knew she wanted to make a similar impact. With over 15 years of travel industry experience specializing in sales strategy and partnerships, she is currently the Senior Director of Distribution Strategy and Revenue Integrity for The Hertz Corporation. She has previously held roles at Virgin America and United Airlines. A native of New Jersey, Cheryl is passionate about elevating women, serving on the board of directors for Dress for Success Southwest Florida. She organized a clothing drive for 72 Hertz locations partnered with a Dress for Success affiliate. Cheryl is a dual US-Italian citizen and her favorite vacation destination is Taormina, Italy. She lives in Estero and has been married to her wonderful husband Conrad for 13 years. They have two boys, Bram, 3, and Xander, 1, with a baby girl arriving in Spring 2021.

Carey Ralston started her Plant-Based journey in 2016 to help combat her anxiety and depression. She had no idea it would evolve into a successful business. At first, Carey only shared her recipes and food with her family. Shortly after, she began sharing her easy recipes online, performing small catering events, and volunteering in a local kitchen. Carey knows that transforming her kitchen is what transformed her life. Alicia Miller is the Executive Director at The Deaf & Hard of Hearing Center, whose mission is to empower SWFL’s Deaf and hard of hearing and their families through education, advocacy, and community involvement. She is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic planning of the organization. She is also in charge of fundraising, marketing, and community outreach for the local Deaf and hard of hearing community. Alicia has helped to increase the non-profit agency’s grant funding, created partnerships with other local organizations, and helped to raise awareness of the community’s large Deaf population in SWFL. Alicia is a dog-lover, avid reader, and loves Sign Language! She is also a huge college football fan and is currently the President of the SWFL Gator Club. NON-PROFIT KATIE SCHAIBLE-BOHANON TOMMY BOHANON FOUNDATION
Katie is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Tommy Bohanon Foundation. After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in Nonprofit Management from High Point University, she and her husband, a former NFL player, sought opportunities to support at-risk youth in Southwest Florida. Having grown up in Lee County, Katie and her husband, Tommy, were acutely aware that at-risk youth can fall through the cracks of society. They used football as their platform and springboard to create the Tommy Bohanon Foundation; whose mission is to encourage at-risk youth to reach their highest potential on and off the playing field. They succeed at this through their programs, scholarships, mentorships, and community outreach projects that the foundation develops and provides. Since the foundation’s inception in June of 2017, the foundation has raised over $100,000 for the Southwest Florida community and are working to double that in the coming year. Katie and Tommy have also been recognized for their philanthropic efforts both locally and nationally. Katie recently received the Humanitarian of the Year award and was recognized as a “Woman of Distinction” in Lee County. Katie is showing the community’s young athletes and future leaders, especially young women, that you truly can have it all. She has a fulfilling career, marriage and is also a new mom. Dance, one of Katie’s many passions, is fulfilled by being an instructor at the studio that she attended in her adolescence. Katie is leading her family and the community, with her heart and compassion hoping to leave a positive impact with every endeavor she is a part of.

LEAD Like a Girl, created in 2016, operates to empower, educate, and inspire young ladies in Southwest Florida. Leadership, education, advocacy, and development are the pillars of LEAD Like a Girl. Working with school district partners, middle and high school girls are invited to annual summits, various workshops, and a robust online community of support. Professional women serve as panelists, breakout session leaders, and mentors. School-based LEAD Like a Girl programs engage the girls with service projects and mentoring. Through community support, continuing education is embraced with The Cyan’s Bright Light Scholarship. A fund has also been created at Florida Gulf Coast University’s Community Counseling Center to provide mental health resources. Volunteering for Hunter’s Hope kick started Nickole Hendra’s enthusiasm for the nonprofit sector in the early 2000s. What became a means to fill some extra time has turned into a passion that still fuels her today. With over 15 years in the nonprofit world, she found an organization that resonates with her and her drive to empower and impact women, Dress For Success SW Florida (DFSSWFL). Currently serving as Executive Director, she leads the organization that helps disadvantaged women achieve economic independence by receiving professional attire for a job interview, a wardrobe when they land a job, a network of support, and career development tools to help them thrive in their professional and personal life. Since opening in 2010, DFSSWFL has impacted and empowered over 3,800 women in Lee, Collier & Hendry counties. A native of Ohio, Nickole has been a resident of Fort Myers for over 30 years.
