Founder & CEO
Launched in 2017, The KNOW WomenTM began as a way to bring more attention to dynamic women doing remarkable things in the Phoenix metro. We knew there were an outstanding number of women impacting the community and making big strides in their industries. Our goal was to get those women out from behind their computer screens and into the public eye. Thus, we created the KNOW Book, a carefully curated publication that would feature vision-led women in a glamorous and authentic style. As the momentum grew and we recognized the need for more, we launched our Collaborative around the women featured in our KNOW Book. Our mix & mingles soon ensued and we witnessed incredible things happening. We saw our women doing business with each other, creating friendships, supporting each other, collaborating on projects together, and so much more. What started as a fun project to spotlight women, has turned into a full-blown movement. The KNOW WomenTM has expanded beyond its birthplace of Phoenix, Arizona; its aim is to launch in every major city across the United States and Canada.

Ever since she was a little girl, Vanessa Silvana knew she was set out to be an artist and it wasn’t until her 20’s that she discovered her obsession for makeup. She auditioned for Laura Mercier as their Makeup Artist and was able to glam celebrities and her favorite designer, Rebecca Minkoff. After gaining personal clients while working she went on her own in March 2019 opening a salon in downtown Sarasota. Excited to excel in just one year, a pandemic hit forcing her to close the doors. This drove her to work harder and rebrand to LOCH NESSA MAKEUP CREATIONS. Vanessa has worked with MTV, TLC, Amazon Ads & Netflix. The name is her childhood nickname from her brother, and has turned into her creative signature. The Lily School for Child Development is a nationally accredited, inclusive preschool serving children six weeks to five years of age. Brittany was born and raised in Ohio, and attended the University of Toledo where she obtained a B.A in Early Childhood & M.Ed. concentrating in Special Education. She has been in educational leadership for twelve years with experience in non-profit, corporate, private, and home-based care. Brittany is passionate about educating the youth, as they are the leaders of tomorrow, and is dedicated to impacting future generations while empowering others to do the same. Children are the promise of tomorrow. Graci McGillicuddy has been committed to healing children victimized by abuse for over 35 years. Her dream of a place where children who have experienced abuse & neglect can heal, has now come true. The All Star Children’s Center is a refuge for children, a place where healing occurs, hope is restored and spirits are renewed. The 5-acre campus which houses a 12,000 sq. ft. Mental Health Treatment & Research Center, 6 foster homes, a clubhouse, playgrounds and more, provides abused children, when first removed from their homes, a nurturing, family style home environment and comprehensive, trauma informed treatment. All Star sets the standard in healing childhood trauma through innovation, science & compassion. Graci is happiest at the All Star campus seeing the transformation as the light comes back into the children’s eyes. Her greatest reward is receiving a hug from an All Star child.

As an Advisory Board member for the past 12 years, Terri helped create and has chaired “Cooking For Wishes” for Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. She also works with Easterseals, The Child Protection Center, The All Star Children’s Foundation, and more. Terri and her husband Michael co-founded the All Heart Fund and the legendary “Safari Sarasota” events – helping to build seven digital learning schools in some of the most rural areas of South Africa – giving thousands of young people chances to learn technology skills and help them enter today’s digital world. Hoping to help like-minded young professionals feel a sense of support and belonging in the area, she founded Emerge Sarasota, a 501c3 nonprofit that connects and provides a platform and resources for young professionals of color in Sarasota/Manatee counties. The mission of Emerge is to help foster a thriving, diverse and collaborative group of BIPOC professionals and allies, who have made a lasting impact on our peers and throughout the community of Sarasota. In addition to her philanthropic efforts, Samantha is a wife, mother, award-winning news reporter, and wellbeing educator. Her holistic, well-being lifestyle brand, Well + Wild Co., will launch in Sarasota in early summer 2022.

Previously, as Executive Director, Ms. Kasdan led a healthcare nonprofit providing nearly 1000 low-income uninsured residents more than $1.3 million in free care annually. Recognized twice as a Florida Top 50 Influencer, she is an accomplished keynote speaker, Junior League of Sarasota member, Board Chair at Making An Impact, and a Board of Director for several local and regional nonprofits.
