Entrancing

Bath Bars These dazzling bath bars stray from the conventional shape of the classic bath bomb. Add any decorative dry botanical you please for a splash of colour and stack them into beautiful glass jars. Tie with a ribbon or rustic jute string for a fully eco-friendly gift. This recipe makes approximately 16-20 bars, depending on the type and size of mold used. Incredibly cost-effective, this recipe can easily be scaled up to make multiple gifts plus a little extra for yourself! If adding essential oils for fragrance, we personally love a blend of 40 drops lavender, 15 drops orange, 10 drops rose geranium, 5 drops ylang ylang essential oils!

top of your bars, place a small layer (i.e. Epsom Salts) to decorate the bottom of the molds.

1 cup citric acid 2 cups baking soda 1 cup cornstarch ¼ cup epsom salts 30 mL Earth’s Aromatique Hydrosol of choice (or water in a spray bottle) silicone bar mold or ice cube tray

OPTIONAL ADD-INS:

50 - 70 drops essential oils of choice

In a large bowl, mix the first four ingredients together. Blend well to avoid clumps. To the bowl, add essential oils and colourants (if using). If you would like botanicals dispersed through the bars, add them now and mix. Using hydrosol or water in a spray bottle, spray two spritzes at a time, and stir well in between. The objective is to add just enough moisture to bind the mixture together, and not so much that it sets off the chemical reaction that we want to save for the bath. Stop spraying

squeezing in your hand, it should keep its shape. Work used too much moisture if the mixture starts to expand, or the spatula and bowl are visibly wet. Add mixture into moulds and press in as hard as possible. This will make for a harder and more durable bar. Be especially attentive to the corners of the mold. Leave in mold and let dry flat for 3-4 hours. Remove from mold and allow to dry completely overnight. Store in a glass jar or your favourite sealable container.

Crystals are just like old friends: beautiful, relaxing to be around, and never fail to make you smile. These shimmering geode bath bombs look just like a quartz crystal! Naturally coloured and easy to assemble, it’s almost too pretty to use. Makes a show-stopping gift, especially when displayed in a reusable glass jar. Toss in the bath for a lovely bath ritual, and bask in the botanical wellness that nature offers.

Bath Soak Darlings Sometimes DIY doesn’t go the way you planned. Sometimes bath bombs, notoriously finicky recipes, don’t quite stick together. The beauty of do-it-yourself recipes is that even mistakes can be learned from, and we can still fashion visually stunning and high-quality gifts. If your Entrancing Bath Bars don’t quite stick together, that’s okay! We like to layer up the mixture in jars with an endless range of customizable colours and botanicals. If you like, you can forgo the moulds entirely, and make these Bath Soak Darlings entirely on purpose!

DIRECTIONS: Layer Bath Bar mix with epsom salts and colourful dried herbs or flowers of choice into a clear glass jar. For a decadent chocolate theme, try adding a layer of cocoa powder and crumbled cocoa butter!

Warmth & Light Natural Soy Candle

Candles are classic. This easy candle recipe is scented with your choice of natural essential oils, and clean-burning soy wax is an eco-friendly alternative to paraffin. An unbleached cotton wick ensures the most natural, clean-burning candle possible. Beautiful and elegant. Simple as that.

YIELDS 220ML JAR

1 ½ cups soy wax 120 drops essential oil (such as peppermint) candle wick putty wick placer 220 mL heat proof container DIRECTIONS: With putty, attach the bottom of the wick to the center of your chosen heat-proof container, such as a 220 mL glass jar. Gently melt the wax in an old pot that will not be used for anything else. While wax is melting (do not allow it to overheat), center the wick in the container with a wick placer. Place the canister on a flat, heat-safe surface. It can help to lay down old rags or paper towels to catch potential spills. Once the wax is fully melted, remove from heat. Add essential oils. Carefully pour melted wax into the prepared vessel. Let stand until completely cool and firm, or overnight. Lay scissors flat across the top of the canister and trim the wick. Decorate the container as desired.

Creamy Honey Mint Cleanser This honey mint cleansing balm is nothing short of refreshing. Formulated to work in tandem with the skin’s pH, it cleanses away the day without stripping away the natural oils that keep our skin glowing. As this recipe requires a preservative, look into Kolya’s selection of eco-friendly preservatives or conduct your own thorough research. Fresh, creamy, and made from entirely plant-based ingredients, this cleanser is fantastic for oneself or as a gift to the skincare enthusiast in your life.
