Czarny Dunajec Commune is a land which spreads at the foothills of the majestic Tatras, right by the green Beskids, somewhere between Rysy (2,501 m) and Babia Mountain (1,725 m). The commune is inhabited by Podhale Highlanders – an exceptionally colourful and intriguing group. We will find beautiful, idyllic views and fascinating attractions in this place which will not overwhelm us with crowds similar to the ones in Zakopane. Czarny Dunajec Commune is famous for magnificent, wooden buildings which we can admire in Czarny Dunajec, the seat of the commune, and Chochołów – after all this is a living, open-air museum which is a part of the Wooden
Architecture Route. The commune is also well-known because of boglands and the picturesque Cycling Route around the Tatras. Moreover, it is a spa where healing peat and geothermal waters are taken advantage of. On the basis of the aforementioned geothermal waters, the biggest attraction of the commune was erected – Chochołowskie Thermal Baths. Amateurs of nature, enthusiasts of an active lifestyle, fans of history and historic sites will be content there. Let us not forget about connoisseurs of regional cuisine – Podhale is famous nationwide for their delicious dishes.
