•FROM ABOVE THE TERMINAL RESEMBLES A GLIDER, WITH THE MAIN BUILDING AS THE ‘BODY’ AND THE ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE GATES HOUSED IN THE TERMINAL’S ‘WINGS’. •DESIGNED BY RENZO PIANO AND NORIAKI OKABE •THE MAIN BUILDING IS 300M LONG AND HAS FOUR STOREYS.
THE IDEA WAS TO MAKE A DIFFERENT DOMESTIC TERMINAL FOR PUBLIC ACCESS. SEEING THE CLIMATE OF NASHIK , THE WHOLE IDEA WAS TO MAKE GREEN SPACES INSIDE THE TERMINAL AS IT MAY HELP TO RELIEVE THE STRESS AMONGST THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN THE TERMINAL.
EXPERIENCE
THE STAINLESS STEEL-CLAD PASSENGER TERMINAL
THE FOLLOWING SKETCHES SHOW THE DESIGN PROCESS OF THE AIRPORT.FREE FLOWING FORM HAS BEEN ADOPTED.A SINGLE AMEBOID MASS IS SUBDIVIDED INTO VARIOUS FUNCTIONAL ASPECTS OF THE PROGRAM AS SHOWN IN THE CIRCULATION DIAGRAM. THE SKETCHES REPRESENT THE EARLY SKETCHES OF ZONAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE PLAN. THE IDEA WAS TO CREATE AN UNDIVIDED MASS OF SPACE . THE GREEN SPACES CREATED INSIDE THE STRUCTURE HELPS IN CREATING A CALM ENVIRONMENT.
CASE STUDY
THE DESIGN TRIES TO DRAW ATTENTION TOWARDS THE OZAR AIRPORT LOCATED AT OZAR, 15 KILOMETERS NORTHEAST OF THE CITY OF NASHIK, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA. IT IS OWNED BY HINDUSTAN AERONAUTICS LIMITED, WHICH USES THE AIRPORT PRIMARILY TO DEVELOP, TEST AND BUILD AIRCRAFT FOR THE INDIAN ARMED FORCES. IT IS HOME TO A MAINTENANCE STATION OF THE INDIAN AIR FORCE AND ALSO SUPPORTS WIDE BODY COMMERCIAL CARGO SERVICES.

• ITS NORTH SIDE HAS AN AIRY ATRIUM SPACE, 25M WIDE AND 30M HIGH, THAT EXTENDS THE FULL LENGTH OF THE BUILDING AND PROVIDES A VISUAL INTERFACE BETWEEN THE LAND (NONRUNWAY) SIDE, THE WORKING CORE OF THE BUILDING AND THE AIRCRAFT (AIR OR RUNWAY SIDE). •BETWEEN THE ATRIUM AND THE WINGS EACH FLOOR HAS A SEPARATE USE — INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS AT GROUND LEVEL, DOMESTIC ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES ON THE FIRST FLOOR, RETAIL AND RESTAURANTS ON THE SECOND FLOOR AND INTERNATIONAL DEPARTURES ON THE TOP FLOOR. WING A STRONG SECONDARY SYSTEM PROVIDES THE SHEAR SUPPORT CONNECTION DETAIL BETWEEN THE PRIMARY STRUCTURAL SYSTEM (TUBE) AND THE SECONDARY STRUCTURAL SYSTEM (RECTANGULAR GRID).

Mankhurd is a suburb in eastern Mumbai. Mankhurd railway station is on harbour line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway. The township lies on the Harbour Line and is the last stop in the city before Navi Mumbai. After Mankhurd, trains cross the Vashi Bridge before reaching Vashi, in Navi Mumbai. Mankhurd also has a railway line run by the Bombay Port Trust.
Domestic Violence Against Women is an age old phenomenon. Women were always considered weak, vulnerable and in a position to be exploited. Violence has long been accepted as something that happens to women. Cultural mores, religious practices, economic and political conditions may set the precedence for initiating and perpetuating domestic violence, but ultimately committing an act of violence is a choice that the individual makes out of a range of options. The gender imbalance in domestic violence is partly related to differences in physical strength and size. They are afraid of raising their voice against the violence.. While Financial Factors contribute to the problem, the These physical and mental health outcomes have social and emotional squeal for the individual, the family, the community causes of domestic violence involve psychological issues that we and the society at large. MANKHURD, NAVI MUMBAI
Unlike many ofthe railway stations in Mumbai, which have 'east' and 'west' sides, this station has a 'north' and 'south' side on either side ofthe railwaytrack. Dr. HomiBhabha Atomic Research Centre's employee township "Anushakti Nagar“, Naval Employee's Township, Mandala and Trombay are some nearby accessible places from the south side ofthis train station and P.M.G.P. Colony, Mohite-Patil Nagar, Sonapur, Mandala are some nearby accessible places from North side. BEST (Bnhanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport) public buses serve this station. Metered and non-metered auto rickshaws are common sight outside the station. There is a civil colony- SPDC Colony located about2 kilometres away from the station road. The idea was to create a space in between the dormitories that becomes their own private sit out space. The green patches shows that every one side of the dormitory is getting a view of green space , which psychlogically helps them to heal as its said nature is the best medicine. The children shelter is placed near the women dormitory soo that the women feels secured about their children and even the children feels secured that they are around their mothers. The central opening being a community space ( a space for the women and public to interact) becomes the prime space at the entrance. The space being quiet open has got a lot of greenary around which keeps the surrounding areas cool. The pathway is connected in such a way that the women walking on that doesn’t feels lost anywhere and the connecting pathways helps them to heal naturally. The idea was to keep a low roof height soo that they feel secured and homely in the building block. As mumbai being hot during summer and the structure being a low cost , an upper area is kept open soo that there is ventilation all throughout the day keeping the structure cool from inside. The idea was to keep interaction between women therefore the parapet walls are even used as the sit out areas which makes it an interactive space.
