OBJECTIVE // The goal of this project is to identify a problem for a selected topic. The first step is to research and identify the target audience, competitor, and stakeholders. The second is to design a system to create deliverables that can solve the problem from the selected topic.
APPROACH // Lack of sleep is a problem. I created a campaign to help people get enough sleep. I developed a visual system that can convey a sense of sleeping by choosing colors that feel relaxed such as pink and blue. The deliverables can help the audience in every day life such as an alarm application, a website where people can chat with sleep doctors, and an event that can promote the idea of this problem to the audience.

TYPE EXPERIMENT
OBJECTIVE // The goal of this project is to design a poster series using a poem from a different language. Start by observing the structure of the poem and a letter form. Think about the feeling and meaning of the poem in it’s own language without understanding the words. Then do the same with a translation of the poem, and chose one word to create a poster series.
APPROACH // The word that I chose is trapped like a feeling of being caught in a trap. I started by exploring the type form in a manual way such as playing with type in water or soap. Next, I created an environment from what I saw in the poem. I brought the type into an environment and photographed it. I used black and white images to convey a feeling of sadness.

OBJECTIVE // The goal of this project is to design an application to address a problem. We designed a functional application that can solve this problem that can affect any of us on any given day.
APPROACH // The problem is I don’t know what I want to eat today. I started designing an application that can solve this problem. I used orange as the main color of this application because I wanted to convey a sense of freshness. I chose purple because sometimes cooking is hard, and I feel like it is a mystery. I also developed this application by studying and implementing principles of user experience and user interface.

OBJECTIVE // The goal of this project is to redesign a bad sign on the street from a business near our neighborhood. In this project, we have three deliverables that matched that business : a website, an application, and the booklet.
APPROACH // This project was a blast because I found an old sign on a street and brought it back to life by redesigning it. To create a good sign for Tatwong Kung Fu, I needed to know more about this martial art. I chose the colors and elements from a Kung Fu’s rope ,which was black and yellow, and to get attention from the audience ,I chose a tag line using lyrics from a famous song, Kung Fu Fighting.

OBJECTIVE // The goal of this project is to design a book from the Podcast “This is American Life.” Before designing it, we listened to a story, then created the system that can represent the story of podcast. Next, we designed a book by using a visual system we create.
APPROACH // From the podcast, I chose an episode called, “Mind Game.” This episode talks about misunderstanding, or how some people pretend in order to play with them. I chose an element from a construction of a brain, and chose geometric line art to represent a brain’s working interior. I chose the colors to convey a sense of fun because it’s about a game, and I wanted to show how people play with each other’s brains.

OBJECTIVE //
The goal of this project is to design a movie poster from a type experiment. The first step is to play with type with any medium, such as fire, water, soap, or etc. With the result of our type experiment, we started thinking about a movie that matches the experimental type , and created a poster series.
APPROACH // The movie I chose is named Chloe. The story starts with a couple. The wife thinks that her husband is cheating, and the wife hires a prostitute to catch her husband. The story works great but at the climax the prostitute lies about every thing that happened with the husband, and the prostitute wants the wife. The color of this project is pink, representing a sense of love and women. In addition , I got lucky because the letter L that I have from the type experiment creates a shape of lipstick that represents women.
