Needlework for Those in Need

If you enjoy crochet or knitting and helping others, we have a surplus of donated yarn, so we are looking for folks to make crib/ child size Blankets and Afghans. See Chyrl or Ann for yarn.

Celtic and Old Time Fiddle

Mystery Grab Bag Card Making

It’s time to clean out my stash of ready to assemble card making kits. The stamping and embossing have been done for you. This is a great opportunity for beginners to see what card making is all about or for the experienced card maker to increase their supply of ready to send cards. The mystery comes into play because you do not know which cards you will receive in your packet of six cards. Cards that will be in the packets include birthday, get well, thinking of you, New Year’s Day, Easter, patriotic, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Come and have some fun crafting and getting to know someone new. Don’t delay, seats are limited to the first 18 people. Please pre-register and pay in advance to ensure your spot!

Bring in your sewing machine (in good working order) and learn to thread it, adjust the tension, clean and oil it. The class will include making a simple project – a Bowl Cozy. Decorative Bottle Lamp

Video Series – A History of Impressionism

In this video series we will explore the fascinating Art movement known as Impressionism, which emerged in 1870s France. Rejecting the rigid rules of the beaux-arts (“fine arts”), Impressionist artists showcased a new way to observe and depict the world in their work.

This is a fun outside fitness class that involves steps and movement using interval training. Be ready to move and get in shape with cardio and strength training. Please pre-register for these classes.

Join Dixie in an instructional class on how to stay safe and aware of your surroundings. Self-awareness is something very important to have to feel confident in your surroundings and prepared for any situation. This will be about a 6 mile hike/ walk. It will be on a trail that runs along the Holston River. We will see wetland, forest and

the remnants of the nuclear plant. Mostly level but very muddy in spots. Please bring a snack and plenty of water.

Laurel Run Falls

This will be a hike up to the overlook and then to the falls. This will be about 3.5 miles There is a creek crossing. If the water is down you cross on the rocks, If the water is up your feet will get wet. Meet in the parking lot of Laurel Run falls. No transportation will be provided by the center.
