Hassan and Aneesa have an older cousin called Aisha; she would really like to get married. Aisha asks her Mum and Dad if they could help her find a good husband.

Hassan and Aneesa’s Mummy, and Aisha’s Mum are in their painting class and are chatting about weddings. Their friend tells them that she has a son called Uthman who would also like to get married.

Mummy and Aisha’s Mum tell Aisha about Uthman.

“He seems like a nice man; I think I would like to meet him,” Aisha says.

Uthman wants to meet Aisha too so they can get to know each other.

Aisha goes home and talks to her Mum and Dad about Uthman, they all think he sounds like a very nice person. Uthman also speaks to his parents about Aisha and they think she sounds lovely!

After talking to their families, Uthman and Aisha pray salatul-istikhara in their own home. They need to ask Allah if it is a good decision to marry each other. Now they both feel happy and want to meet again.

Aisha and Uthman decide that they want to get married. Both families want to meet each other, they are having a good time chatting and laughing! Aisha’s Dad is her wali, he must look after Aisha and make sure that she will marry a good man.

Aisha is going to be a bride so she needs to buy her wedding dress. There are lots of dresses to choose from, Aisha feels very confused. “Which one shall I buy?” “Look at that one, it looks like a princess dress and it’s so twinkly!” Aneesa says. “It’s beautiful, I’ll buy it!”

Aisha and Uthman have already agreed what he will give her as mahr, a good bridal gift. Now the Imam says that they can sign some important papers called the aqdunnikaah, it is a special wedding contract where they have made promises to each other.

Uthman is going to give Aisha her mahr. “Hassan, can you give me the box please?” Hassan has forgotten which pocket he put the box in! He quickly searches all of his pockets, finds it, then sensibly gives it to Uthman. Aisha opens the box; Uthman has bought her a beautiful bracelet!

Uthman and Aisha are now married! Aneesa immediately asks Mummy “Can we go and hug Aisha now?” Mummy laughs, “of course we can!” The guests go to the bride and groom and say a special du’a, “May Allah bring blessings upon you both and bring goodness between you.”
