Onze reeks Symfonisch Goud bundelt het allerbeste van wat de symfonische muziekwereld te bieden heeft. En dat mag je letterlijk nemen. De reeks is opgevat als een reis rond de wereld, van Latijns-Amerika over Europa tot Japan. Voilà pourquoi DE SINGEL est co-commanditaire du tout nouveau concerto pour clarinette de Wim Henderickx, intitulé Sutra. Lors de ce concert, l’œuvre sera présentée en première belge. Vous voudrez certainement y assister, surtout si vous savez que la partie solo sera tenue par la grande clarinettiste belge Annelien Van Wauwe, dédicataire de la composition. Et qu’en plus, ce sera le très apprécié orchestre radiophonique du Norddeutsche Rundfunk qui viendra interpréter l’œuvre lors de sa première, sous la baguette de son chef de renommée internationale Andrew Manze. Elke ochtend rent de dageraadsgodin Aurora langs het hemelgewelf en kondigt de komst van haar broer de zon aan. Net zo, kondigt de naam Aurora Orchestra gloedvolle, hartverwarmende muziek aan. Het orkest van dirigent Nicholas Collon groeide in geen tijd uit tot een van de meest intrigerende ensembles van het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Muzikanten die keer op keer overtuigen met impressionante vertolkingen, waarbij ze vaak volledig uit het hoofd spelen om de muziek met elke vezel in hun lijf te beleven. Ook in de Blauwe zaal zullen ze Berlioz’ feeërieke Symphonie Fantastique als muzikale meestervertellers zonder partituur spelen. Het programma kleurt trouwens bijna helemaal bleu, blanc et rouge: met Maurice Ravels swingende Pianoconcerto in G, gebaseerd op de jazzmuziek van zijn tijd, en Thomas Adès’ meesterlijke herwerkingen van de muziek van François Couperin.

Chaque jour, Aurore, déesse de l’aube, court le long du firmament pour annoncer la venue de son frère le Soleil. Le nom de l’Aurora Orchestra évoque des musiques tout aussi chatoyantes qui réchauffent le cœur. L’orchestre du chef Nicholas Collon est devenu en peu de temps l’un des ensembles les plus captivants du Royaume-Uni. Les musiciens donnent à chaque fois des interprétations impressionnantes et convaincantes, souvent de mémoire afin de pouvoir vivre pleinement la musique. Ces conteurs magistraux réitèreront d’ailleurs l’exploit dans notre Salle Bleue pour la Symphonie Fantastique de Berlioz, œuvre féerique par excellence. Le reste du programme est tout aussi bleu, blanc, rouge avec le swinguant Concerto pour piano en sol majeur de Ravel, coloré par le jazz de l’époque, et les arrangements magistraux d’œuvres de Couperin par Thomas Adès.

In no time, the orchestra of conductor Nicholas Collon grew into one of the United Kingdom’s most intriguing ensembles. Musicians that convince time and time again with impressive performances in which they play completely from memory so as to experience the music with every fibre of their being. Also in the Blue Hall, they will play Berlioz fairy-tale Symphony Fantastique as musical master storytellers without a score. Indeed, the programme will be coloured almost entirely bleu, blanc et rouge: with Maurice Ravels swinging Piano Concerto in G, based on the jazz music of his era, and Thomas Adès masterful arrangements of the music of François Couperin.

Het programma van dirigent Edward Gardner lijkt hem wel op het lijf geschreven. Alsof hij met zijn eigen London Philharmonic Orchestra terugwandelt op zijn levenspad. Wagners wulpse schildering van de Venusberg, die meteen de toon zet voor Tannhäuser. Mozarts Klarinetconcerto met het energieke allegro en het wonderschone adagio, wereldberoemd dankzij The King’s Speech en Out of Africa. Elgars intrinsiek Britse Enigmavariaties: een reeks vermakelijke muzikale portretschetsen met een ondoorgrondbaar thema. Gardner knipoogt naar het vaderland waarvan hij nu al decennialang de muzikale uitstraling naar een hoger niveau tilt, naar zijn periode als muziekdirecteur van de English National Opera, naar zijn jeugdjaren en het eerste instrument dat hij zelf leerde spelen. Hij zal zelf meer dan tevreden zijn dat niet hij maar Roeland Hendrikx in Antwerpen de solopartij van het concerto vertolkt.

Le programme dirigé par Edward Gardner semble conçu sur mesure pour lui, comme si, à la tête de son London Philharmonic Orchestra, il y retraçait le cours de sa vie. L’évocation sensuelle du Mont de Vénus donne le ton pour la suite de Tannhäuser. Le Concerto pour clarinette de Mozart, avec son allegro énergique et son merveilleux adagio, a été rendu mondialement célèbre par The King’s Speech et Out of Africa. Les Variations Enigma d’Elgar, éminemment britanniques, proposent une série de délicieux portraits musicaux sur un thème insondable. Gardner lance un clin d’œil à son pays, dont il accroit le rayonnement musical depuis des décennies, à ses années comme directeur musical de l’English National Opera, à sa jeunesse et au premier instrument dont il a appris à jouer. Il sera plus qu’heureux que ce n’est pas lui, mais Roeland Hendrikx, qui tiendra la partie solo du concerto à Anvers.

Het Chamber Orchestra of Europe, ooit ontstaan als geesteskind van Claudio Abbado, heeft doorheen de jaren een duizelingwekkend parcours afgelegd. De lange lijst van solisten en dirigenten die met hen willen samenwerken, spreekt dan ook boekdelen. Voor dit concert delen topdirigent Antonio Pappano en wereldster Janine Jansen het podium: een droomduo dat al verschillende bekroonde opnames op zijn palmares heeft staan. Depuis plus de dix ans, la rigueur historique de l’Insula Orchestra place la barre très haut pour les ensembles jouant sur instruments originaux. Laurence Equilbey, sa directrice musicale française, étudie minutieusement chaque facette de l’interprétation, en faisant appel à des instruments d’époque, en modifiant l’accordage ou la disposition des musiciens. Special FX, zo wordt François-Xavier Roth wel eens genoemd. En die flitsend klinkende bijnaam is hem helemaal op het lijf geschreven. Want door zijn veelkleurige muziektaal, zijn punchy vertelkracht en zijn wervelende podiumprésence heeft een concert met zijn eigen orkest Les Siècles inderdaad wat weg van een impressionante explosie in een Hollywood-blockbuster. Voor dit concert kiest Roth voor het feeërieke repertoire dat hem wereldwijde faam en zowat alle belangrijkste Europese muziekprijzen opleverde. Rimski-Korsakovs op muziek gezette duizend-en-een-nacht-sprookje Sheherazade koppelt hij aan Stravinsky’s Petroesjka. Met zijn opname van dat werk rijfde Roth eerder zowel de Edison Klassiek-prijs als de Deutsche Schallplattenkritik binnen. ‘Special FX’, le surnom flamboyant donné occasionnellement à François-Xavier Roth, lui va comme un gant. Grâce à son langage musical chamarré, sa puissance narrative énergique et sa présence scénique étourdissante, chaque concert qu’il donne à la tête de son ensemble Les Siècles ressemble effectivement à une explosion étourdissante dans une superproduction hollywoodienne. Pour ce concert, Roth opte pour le répertoire féerique qui lui a valu son renom mondial et lui a apporté quasiment toutes les grandes récompenses musicales européennes. Il associe Shéhérazade, conte des Mille et Une Nuits mis en musique par Rimski-Korsakov, à Petrouchka de Stravinsky. Pour l’enregistrement de cette dernière œuvre, Roth a obtenu à la fois le prix Edison Klassiek et le prix de la Deutsche Schallplattenkritik. Dans la Salle Bleue, vous pourrez constater que les louanges sont justifiées.

François-Xavier Roth is sometimes described as ‘Special FX’. And this flashy sounding nickname suits him perfectly. Because thanks to his kaleidoscopic musical language, his punchy narrative power, and his whirlwind stage presence, a concert with his own orchestra Les Siècles is like an impressionist explosion in a Hollywood blockbuster. For this concert, Roth opts for the fairy-tale repertoire that garnered him both global fame and virtually all of Europe’s key music prizes. He links Rimski-Korsakov’s a-thousandand-one-nights fairy tale set to music Scheherazade to Stravinsky’s Petrushka. With his recording of that work, Roth previously won both the Edison Classical prize and the Deutsche Schallplattenkritik. Onder elk abonnement staat per leeftijdscategorie de kostprijs vermeld van minimum tot maximum. De uiteindelijke kostprijs zal afhangen van jouw keuze. Each season ticket is numbered. You’ll also find this season ticket number with every concert or performance that belongs to a particular season ticket. Listed beneath every season ticket is the price per age category, from minimum to maximum. The final price will depend upon your selection. Within a season ticket, you can select a different category for each concert, according to your preference. Season tickets should preferably be purchased online via desingel.be

FRIEND OF DE SINGEL For € 10 you will become a ‘Friend of DE SINGEL’ and enjoy a € 4 discount on almost every performance. If you buy tickets for 3 different performances then you will have already won back your investment.
