That time of year again- leaves start changing and falling, silage comes in, calves get weaned and sale prep is in full swing.

One of the big changes this year is how great it is to be in the cattle industry right now. Finally we’ve seen some good returns. The market was at a crazy all time high this summer. You could sell an old herdsire for about what you would have bought him for and have gotten a few crops out of him. Those old cull cows I’m sure helped a few people pay some bills too. It also really has played to our advantage with feed. Hay isn’t an arm and a leg and it’s pretty easy to find. Commodities are looking good to buy right now and if you have any in the bin, prices are looking like they could be on the rise.

We’ve spent a considerable amount of time watching, thinking and evaluating feedback on what cattle producers want from breeders. That’s no small job and it takes a lot of homework. I think we made an A+ on that assignment here though as you might see here. A strong representation in these pages of what we believe in and value. I hope you can see the passion, effort, dedication and how highly we think of this offering.

We appreciate your time is of great value and we continue to make ourselves available at your convenience to see these guys any time or answer any questions you might have leading up to and on sale day.

December can potentially be an unpredictable month with weather and can make it difficult for travel. Don’t let that put you off of bidding or taking in the sale. We have DLMS on site that day to broadcast the sale and have online bidding available. We can also take phone bids during the sale or we can make any arrangements to make this process go smoothly.

We welcome you to walk the pens to see the offering and their dams and enjoy a complimentary hot beef lunch on sale day. We are still offering our same sale terms of half cash on sale day and half paid in June of 2025. We will have insurance available to purchase at the sale as well.

As always, we’re excited to put this together here and hope to see you come out on December 5th to the ranch in Warner.!

THREE RIVERS 8062

A moderate 86 lbs birth weight combined with 1006 lbs weaning weight and 1674 lbs yearling weight, Big River had a 42 cm scrotal as a yearling and put up a large volume of semen. His Dam EA Blackcap 4053 is one of the best donor females on Ellingson Ranch. Big River’s progeny have explosive body capacity, ample bone, structural soundness and fluent mobility. He’s ranked top 1% for hoof, claw and angle EPDs and top 1% for weaning and yearling weight EPD’s.

DEER VALLEY GROWTH FUND

This bull was a top pick of many purebred breeders and he’s pretty tough to beat. He’s a gorgeous bull to look at. We were really looking for bulls to use on our heifers that wouldn’t sacrifice muscle and structure and still be nice performing animals at weaning with decent EPD’s and actual weaning weights. Did we ever win on going in on this guy. His progeny have not disappointed us this year.

Super proud of this bull. We used him early as a yearling and he really spread his wings showing his power in genetics behind him. He’s a home bred bull out of our own 48E who was a very broody female and comes from a super strong cow family. 210G is amazing footed, smooth and balanced. He has extra stretch to him and just moves really easy and can sure make the miles in the pasture. This dude is one of the best home raised herdsires we’ve had.

BC ROBUST 0807

We were able to view some sons of this guy before we knew anything about him and were blown away by his progeny. Robust is a bull to be admired for his length and thickness while maintaining the integrity of hoof structure and is from a different pedigree from anything else. Super excited to bring this crop of calves to you as we think he passed his traits on strong with this group.

A bull that is pretty new to the scene and is a maternal brother to Ellingson Badlands. He’s a performance stand out. He has a wide hoof base and great depth of heel and claw. He should be a real foot improver and a step in the right direction for the Angus breed.

Big time calving ease and performance combining a 62lbs BW with a 900lbs WW. Outstanding maternal pedigree and design with a breed leading $Weaning index. A thick topped deep sided bull.

A true star that has all the accolades. Only 80 lbs birth weight with actual 880 lbs weaning weight. He carries extra muscle and thickness and still has the sogginess on him. His mother is a first calver that ranks in my top list of producers. Growth Fund females, I’ve noticed here, are perfect footed and perfect sized and level teeted udders. 126M is in the top 11% weaning weight, and top 10% yearling weight. Can be used on heifers.

An extreme power house and is as thick as they come. A muscular moderate framed bull who’s deep the whole way through his body. Only 81 lbs birth and pushed scales down at an impressive 970 lbs at weaning. He’s out of another Growth Fund daughter that is going to be a foundation cow in years to come. He’s in the top 4% for weaning weight and top 3% for yearling weight EPDs for the breed. Can be used on heifers.

89M has a presence about him that commands your attention. He’s an extremely wide hind quarter with tons of depth of body and wide over the top line. His dam is a Growth Fund daughter that I am sure will be a top producer as years go forward. 89M is in the top 12% weaning weight and top 9% for yearling weight EPDs of the breed. Just look at his personal performance- birth weight of 79 lbs and an actual 930 lbs weaning weight. Can be used on heifers.

There isn’t anything more satisfying than seeing a sire group of bulls with the same phenotype stamp on each one and Stoney does that. 133M has the phenotype, soundness, thickness and awesome mother. She’s given us only one other bull calf her 1st year and daughters here producing very well for us. 133M is a bull that combines body mass, thickness and spring of rib backed by maternal strength all in one.

He has an ideal front end with excellent maturity and angus character. 35J is an excellent uddered cow and is a sister to Lot 1 from the sale last year. 35J’s first calf last year went to Bueckert last year. Strong maternal side on this guy too!

190M can be noted for his extra base width, spring of rib and style. Another calving ease Growth Fund son with an easy 70 lbs birth weight and 920 lbs weaning weight. If you’re a numbers guy, it doesn’t get much better than this. Top 2% weaning weight and 1% yearling weight EPDs for the breed. Can be used on heifers.

A real moderate balanced bull here. He’s from a strong cow family too. The dam has sisters with bulls in the offering and Grand dam 285A is still on the ranch doing her job. This guy will put some great replacement females in someone’s pen. Recommend for heifers

A good bull out of a solid Tiger family. 78G is good footed and uddered. There is lots of maternal strength here and a for sure female builder.

NGC 140C GREENBACKS 92G

He was Reserve Grand Champion at the Medicine hat bull show and sale in 2021. The most correct package I’ve seen in a straight horned bull. He carries the length, thickness, wide and strong topline, deep ribbed, big chest capacity and a sound, solid, big hoof under him with pigment and hair to top it all off.

As known as the “legend” around here. If you’re looking for a bull to bring females or males, this guy can do both. 103E consistently has left his mark with moderate, extremely thick and easy doing cattle that have gone on and consecutively got the job done. Whenever we pick our replacements, the 103E’s are the ones to watch for- the performance, udders, and feet are all there.

RSK 173D COMMAND ET 91H

Command puts everything together so well, right from phenotype to genotype. He possesses a massive hip, loin and testicles wrapped in a structural package that is hard to beat. His movement and fluidity are unmatched by many with everything planted on a big solid foot. Command completes the package with beautiful balance and appeal, great extension in his front with a skull and shoulder structure that makes me feel comfortable in using him on heifers.

LCI 91H LOUIS VITTON 207L

207L has been a favorite since he was young and boy has he developed well. Nothing lacking in this beautiful frame. He’s got a great strong wide top and has great depth and carries it deep throughout. He’s great length of spine but keeps everything proportioned to give him a great balance and profile. He moves so freely and is great footed. He’s in the Top 4% weaning weight, 2% yearling weight and 2% REA EPDs of the breed. He’s in the top 3% weaning weight and yearling weight EPDs of the breed. He’s perfectly footed and can really get out and move well. This guy is genetically stacked for longevity and quality.

Here’s a gorgeous eye-catching Command son who’s perfectly marked and just walks out with class. He’s a bit more moderate framed, but makes up for it in length and still looks balanced. For carcass, he’s in the top 1% for fat and 2% for REA.

Recommend for heifers

LCI 92G LARRY 39L

This guy and Lot 45 are very similar and they both are full horned pedigree. 39L is the full package and holds true to his sire’s traits. He’s thick all the way through and carries it deep into his hind quarter. In motion, his feet are flawless and hits the ground perfectly every time. Bulls like this make great cattle.

An exceptional bull with full horned pedigree. 51L is as deep as he is wide. Lots of frame and bone with muscle packed on. These 92G sons all have that thick curly hair and do well in the hard winters. He’s one of the good ones.

LCI J4 LIAM 75L 46

It’s hard for us to put this bull in here because we think so much of him. His dam is by far a superior female from a different pedigree and 75L himself is a real looker. He’s a full horned pedigree all the way back. He’s powerfully made with great conformation all through. Even more I’d Recommend for use on heifers You really have to see him to appreciate him.

We really think highly of 130L. His phenotype checks the boxes for us and deeper than that, his dam is a strong contender here. 60E has her Dam, sisters and daughters in the herd. We used this guy on a select group of our own females this spring. He’s a true rancher bull and will no doubt help build great replacement heifers.

Recommend for heifers

143L is easy to admire and catches your eye from a distance. Superior foot structure and great blanched profile, smooth muscle expression and well pigmented. He came out small and grew well. Recommend for heifers

LCI 91H LUCIEN

A true rancher bull here. Lots of bone, wide topped, deep ribbed and good strong top line with length of spine. He’s a full horned bull here that brings some different genetics. If you’re looking for something to breed your Sensation females to, this guy could be your answer.

Lots of muscle on this guy for a moderate framed guy and nicely balanced profile. A straight horned pedigree on him and the great feet that 92G brings.

LCI 92G LARKIN 110L

Full horned pedigree here all the way back in top and bottom. This bull can get out and move for a guy of his size, something you don’t always see when you get size and frame. A very even profile with a wide strong top. 47G is one of the best horned cows we have and has produced progeny working at Doenz Farms.

This guy is an eye catcher and I know he’ll make a beautiful crop. A moderate framed bull that also has a balanced profile with smooth muscle expression. His dam is a producer full out always bringing a good one and has progeny that went to work for Rocking P, Powell, Bonette and Arendt’s. If you want to build a cow herd, his bloodline could do it!

123L is excellent marked, free moving, long spined and thick strong topped. He’s the picture heifer bull but won’t let up on performance. He’s in the top 5% weaning weight of the breed EPDs and his carcass is in the top 1% for REA and 13% for marbling.

Recommend for heifers

Deep sided, freight train length and impeccable hoof structure and claw describes this guy. He’s in the top 4% weaning weight and 5% yearling weight EPDs for the breed. For carcass he’s the top 1% EPD for REA. He’s backed by a consistent producing female 226C.

LCI C002 LAMAR 62L 56

If you’re looking for a solution to foot and udder this guy would be it. His dam is flawless that way and her foot quality has passed down to this guy.I’d expect great females from him. 62L is more moderate framed, but doesn’t lack in length. I know he will do well in any rancher’s herd.

One of two 103E sons in the sale. This is the last crop of him and this guy would make him proud. Wide topped, smooth muscled and super easy doing as 103E’s progeny are. Top that off with great eye pigment and dark pigment- he’s a beauty. His EPDs say he’s going to bring you calves that will grow well and make the bank account happy.
