Cover The publication cover is an at-home interpretaion of many models from “Dazed” and”Attitude” magazine over the past year, all done in attempts to still produce fashion content during the midst of COVID-19. The recreation displays a bold yet fashion forward image that is going to grab the readers attention. I wanted to show a very minimal aspect with the look yet keep it very much in theme of “drag”.

DIVERSITY SHOOT The shoot focuses on showcasing and displaying diversity in the Scottish Drag Scene though an important figure in the community. The shoot was interpreted from pin up fashion creations by Mugler and to embody Lady Gaga for Vogue in 2018. This involves a very direct method of leaning into frame and trying to showcase their beauty to the camera.. Taking aspects further by doing bleached eyebrows and a bold silhouette perfectly captures the vision interpreted.

This shoot captures the essence of who and what “Latex” stands for. The shoots were both done to display a fierce potrayal of my Drag persona and showcase my uniqueness as an artist. Over the course of the past year I have discovered the branding behind Latex, this shoot helps display and reveal my journey through stylings and fashions.

ME, MYSELF & DRAG SHOOT (Shoot Concept 2)
The theme being so personal had to be explored over a series of shoots with both sides to my drag persona. This shoot captured the beauty and confidence i feel when in drag. Through stylings of other queer creatives in terms of clothing and hair it really does embody the collaborative nature of my character and always wanting to tell a story behind the looks. The shoot drew inspiration from i-D models over a number of publication covers that displayed a fierce onlook and still remained entirely fashion forward and embodied confidence.

Political shoot (Shoot Concept 1 & 2)
This concept gave life to an idea of showcasing the model in ways which remained true to themselves as well as push past the point of drag and bring a scottish heritage back into the publication. The shoot centres around a very strong topic and to juxtapose this it was best to highlight the model in both ways of a serious feminist look and to have fun and be uniquely themselves. The shoot creates a story with the model and users find themself to enjoy experiencing and hearing about the different political topics involved in the Scottish Drag Scene.

Financial Struggles SHOOT This theme was given life from the quote by Ru Paul to a Drag Race UK contestant, “I do not want to see you wearing any f*cking H&M”. It explored an inspired idea from the movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic” and merged it together with publications like Wonderland, creating a minimal yet effective shoot through the stylings and focus on the financial struggles the UK Drag Scene struggle with.
