Bula Ladies! Welcome to the 2019 Sheraton Fiji Denarau Women’s Golf Classic and welcome to Fiji, the perfect choice for a winter-sun holiday. This year, we will again host another group of fabulous women golfers coming from golf clubs all around New Zealand, Australia, Fiji and for the first time, the Seychelles. In total 38 golf clubs will be represented! This is our longest running tournament, celebrating 17 years in 2019. The popularity of this Fiji tournament just blows us away each year – ‘word of mouth’ advertising works every time! Back in 2003 when 11 girls entered our first Fiji tournament, it was like a family outing. Who would have ever guessed all these years later we would regularly have full fields of golfers each year? Welcome back to our tournament regulars who have been coming to Fiji for their dose of sun and cocktails for many years. In 2019 we will also see the return of some golfers or ‘old hands’ from our very early days, this time bringing new friends, thank you! Welcome to the ‘newbies’ who we know will quickly get into the swing of the social activities. Bula to the Denarau members, the local Fiji girls always add to the festivities and local flavour for the week. The secret is well and truly out as to how much fun this tournament is and how fabulous Fiji is as a golf holiday destination. The Denarau Women’s Golf Classic is presented by The Sheraton Fiji Resort which is a 5-star luxury resort owned by the Marriott group of hotels, the largest hotel chain in the world! Big changes are coming for the resort later this year and in 2020, with a multi-million refurbishment across the whole property and the golf course, making he resort world-class. We can’t wait! The Denarau Women’s Golf Classic tournament format is a 54-hole pairs competition playing Foursomes, 4BBB and Combined Stableford rounds. The stableford scores from each of the 3 days play contribute to your overall pair’s total. The opening round is a fun teams Ambrose Day where you get the chance to ‘mix n mingle’ with girls from other golf clubs. We have fun daily prizes and at the end of the week we recognise the overall winners. And yes its true, after 17 years we’ve never had a pairing take out the title twice! In 2019 we have 3 past champions in the field so maybe the record will be broken? The tournament week theme for 2019 is the ‘A Walk on the Wild Side’ which came about as a celebration of our first hosted golf tour to South Africa this year. Have fun with your fancy dress! From our team at PaR nz Golfing Holidays, we love seeing you all in Fiji each year and love working with the Fijians. Thank you for your fantastic support and good luck for the week! Vinaka Denise & Kim The PaR nz Golfing Holidays Team, your Tournament Hosts

History of the Theme One of the reasons for the tournament’s popularity has been its infamous theme. But in fact, it was never our idea! Right back in the beginning we supported our naming sponsor Sun Latte Milk by wearing their brand colour orange. Along came Regal Salmon in 2007 and the ‘fishy’ theme idea took hold. From there the girls went wild filling up their suitcases each year with all sorts of fancy dress outfits.
