January/February 2020 January 10 – 12, 2020 New Zealand Golf Men’s & Women’s Mid-Amateur Omanu Golf Course, Bay of Plenty Open to men and women golfers. Ages: 30+. Handicap Index maximum: Men 0-14, Women 0-24. Enter online at www.parnz.co.nz or www.golf.co.nz The 2020 New Zealand Men’s Mid-Amateur will be combined and played simultaneously with The 2020 New Zealand Women’s Mid-Amateur at the Omanu Golf Course situated in the coastal haven of Mt Maunganui in the Bay of Plenty region. The Championship is a 54-hole stroke play tournament by age group. The tournament will award two places to the 2020 Australian Mid-Amateur for the men’s and women’s winners (providing the winners are New Zealander’s) or the top placed New Zealand male and female competitors. This will include tournament entry and a travel grant to assist with flights to the 2020 Australian Mid-Amateur Championship including tournament clothing.
January 27 – February 11, 2020 Vietnam & Cambodia Golf Tour Siem Reap – Hanoi – Halong Bay – Danang – Saigon Enquiries to denise@parnz.co.nz or visit www.parnz.co.nz A rich and unique culture engulfs these two beautiful countries. Discover Vietnam’s and Cambodia’s timeless charm, the bustling day-to-day life of its delightful people and sample fresh fabulous food while playing some world-class golf. The tour starts in Siem Reap with a Cambodian style welcome, two rounds of golf and a sunrise tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat. We then head to Hanoi and on to Ha Long Bay with a round scheduled at one of Vietnam’s most recent golf additions – FLC Golf @ Ha Long Bay. Six wonderful days on China Beach in Da Nang includes four rounds of golf, a Vietnamese Cooking Class and time for shopping in historic Hoi An. The tour finishes in Saigon where, for our last game of golf, we travel to the tee up the Saigon River. A visit to the Cu Chi tunnels is included, and, a final night celebration dinner. This 15 night/16-day tour is 5-star throughout.
February 17 - 20, 2020 New Zealand Golf Women’s Senior Match Play Taupo Golf Course (Centennial), Bay of Plenty Field full – reserve list in place Open to women golfers. Ages: 50+ Enquiries to denise@parnz.co.nz The 2020 New Zealand Women’s Senior Championships will be hosted by Taupo Golf Club, in the Bay of Plenty. This will be the 72nd year of the tournament. The programme includes a qualifying round, competing for three prestigious trophies, before three guaranteed rounds of match play in eight divisions. Winners after three rounds will play on in the finals, in all divisions including flights and plates. The top division competes by “off-the-stick” match play: all other divisions compete in handicap match play.

March/April 2020 March 24 - 26, 2020 New Zealand Golf Women’s Autumn Foursomes Gleniti Golf Course, Timaru Open to all women golfers. Entries on line www.parnz.co.nz or www.nzgolf.org.nz This popular women’s tournament is to be held in 2020 at Timaru’s Gleniti Golf Course. The course was founded in 1928 and boasts being one of only three courses in the South Island to have views of Mount Cook, along with views of the Southern Alps. The clubhouse is an impressive sight, the original homestead and a popular venue for not only many club activities, but private and corporate functions as well. The format of the tournament is based on a 64 pair random draw published for round one, with multiple flights and plates following for the following rounds.

March 30 - 3 April, 2020 Mount Michael Central Otago Autumn Golf Classic Alexandra, Arrowtown, Cromwell, Queenstown and Wanaka Ages: Players from 20+ are encouraged to enter. Enter online at www.parnz.co.nz Now in its 12th year, the Mount Michael Central Otago Autumn Golf Classic is one of New Zealand’s largest amateur golf tournaments and is extremely popular with local and international golfers. The timing takes advantage of the late summer weather and the magical colours of early autumn. Five rounds will be played consecutively across the golf courses. Entry is open to men and women golfers of all ages. Maximum handicap index for men 32.0 and women 36.0 apply. In 2020 players are invited to ‘drop-in’ centres in Arrowtown, Cromwell, Queenstown and Wanaka so players have a fun meeting place for drinks with dining options! The 2021 programme has some exciting additions starting with golf on Royal Johannesburg, four nights in Kruger National Park, two nights on the 5-Star Rovos Rail, golf, wine and sightseeing in Cape Town before two nights in Hermanus on the Garden Route before a grand finish at Fancourt. The 2021 itinerary will be restricted to 26 golfers and will include a fascinating elephant encounter at Knysna Elephant Sanctuary.

The golf challenges include, Golf Digest Top 100 World #17 Golf Course – Cape Kidnappers along with the three best courses in the Hawke’s Bay region – Hastings, Napier and Maraenui Golf Clubs. This tournament is hosted over five days at the four golf courses, located in the fabulous Hawke’s Bay. The region is a major wine growing area on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. The main city of Napier is also the Art Deco Capital of New Zealand. The tournament field will be limited to 220 golfers, entries confirmed on a ‘first-in basis’.

November 23 - 26, 2020 New Zealand Golf Women’s Senior Foursomes Rotorua Golf Club, Bay of Plenty Open to women golfers. Ages 50+ Entries open March 2020 Refer www.parnz.co.nz or www.golf.co.nz This popular senior women’s tournament, a national New Zealand Golf event moves to Rotorua’s Arikikapakapa – a popular course and location to match this premium senior tournament. The format includes three days of handicap foursomes match play after 18 holes qualifying net. After qualifying, competitors are put into flights (of 16 pairs per division) which are seeded based on their net score. The first 128 (64 pairs) paid entries will be accepted. If required an additional division, as is often the case, accepting a further 16 pairs / 32 players may be extended.
