The Royal Ontario Museum’s architectural design is its use of geometric shapes and angles. The building is comprised of various intersecting volumes, which creates a sense of dynamism and movement. This design approach helps to break down the traditional rectangular box shape of many museum buildings and adds a unique visual interest to the building.

I was inspired to study this museum as research as the harsh edges and sharp corners are similar to the geometric forms I studied from crystals.

The ROM's design also prioritizes natural light, with large windows and skylights used throughout the building to maximize natural light and provide stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The use of natural light helps to create a sense of openness and spaciousness within the building, while also reducing the need for artificial lighting

Another notable feature of the ROM's design is the use of materials. The building's exterior is made up of various materials, including glass, aluminum, and stone, which creates a contrast between the different textures and colors. The use of these materials also helps to reflect the changing light and weather conditions, which gives the building an ever-changing appearance throughout the day.
