Model 6

Here is the final sketch up model of my art gallery. I have stuck to main original outlines of my plan by creating a contemporary looking three floor building. The ground floor is the main gallery area. Consisting of two separate buildings. A large open plan room to hold different exhibitions and events, for this purpose it has very limited window lighting to allow adjustments to artificial lighting according to the exhibition or event. The second building is where the main gallery will be, this is also open plan with windows at the front and back of the building walls to bring in natural light to showcase the work and whilst also providing room for hanging work.

On the first floor the building is split into two different areas with a large amount of outdoor balcony room. The first room on the upper floor is again open plan and a with a coffee and snack bar, to rest and socialise after walking around the gallery and visiting the exhibitions. This area is attached to a large balcony space that overlooks the beautiful garden where visitors can also spend as much time as they want.

In the attached room is art studios with available art classes and art studios available to book to a private session. The is also an attached balcony where outdoor classes take place learning to paint the landscapes and views from the balcony.

On the upper floor is more gallery space to display public artwork open to the community express themselves and to display whatever they want.

Landscaping

The landscaping around my building consists of geometric shapes displayed through pathways through the garden area and displayed throughout the tree planters, ponds and seating areas. The geometric triangular pattern on the side of the building repeats itself through the use of the diamond shapes planters that vary in hight creating a triangular shape. This helps to blend my building seamlessly into its surroundings.
