welcome
In 2014 Leticia Carrillo, Clouthier’s widow, donated her house in order to establish la Casa del Maquío A.C. Her idea was to create in Culiacán a cultural, nonpartisan, secular, plural and inclusive space to train leaders and full-time citizens.
Artists, galleries, art dealers and entrepreneurs from Sinaloa and from all over the country represent the diversity in which we live. Together they contributed to la Casa 2022, modern and contemporary art, organized by la Casa del Maquío for the benefit of the artistic community and society.
By participating in la Casa subasta 2022, modern and contemporary art auction, you contribute in the development of la Casa del Maquío project, your house, everyone’s house.
photografic archive of la Casa del Maquío ©FRIENDSHIP IS A SENSATION OF FORTY ITEMS
An exultant fortune in our time, is that the possibility of having a piece of art at home, is feasible; that is why we are excited to offer you in a second auction at la Casa del Maquio, pieces of mexican artists, most of them contemporary, that we are sure deserve a space in that place you profoundly love. The aesthetic variety of the pieces you can acquire in this auction is remarkable. The personalities of the artists are evident and we have something to suit every taste. If you find yourself being seized by a fierce palpitation of your heart, don’t worry, the only way to overcome the Stendhal effect you are experiencing is to take home with you the object causing it, placing it in plain sight.
We have an engraving of Francisco Toledo with his gaze full of red dawn, Pedro Friedeberg and his hemispheric escapes. Have you seen the piece by Pedro Coronel? The fire of all fires, both serigraphs. David Alfaro Siqueiros, the third man in Mexican muralism, with a piece that needs no title. We have for you a 1996 lithograph of José Luis Cuevas. Genius. Beloved Leonora Carrington, who escaped from the arms of the world to arrive at Xilitla with her friend Edward James, presents us this
lithograph so you can make it your own. Of course, the precise imagination of Alejandro Magallanes could not be missed, and his serigraph on paper is in search of a wall.
We can’t think of anyone who knows about the land and let Hilda Lugo’s sculpture escape. Fritzia Irízar and that inquiry about the future of the landscapes, is for the best smile. Do you admire Gabriel García Márquez? Well, Miriam Molina too, although her butterflies are blue. Karian Amaya, Rotation of Celestial Bodies, marble sculpture of 2022, is to suit your taste. Irene Clouthier reminds us in the piece we offer you, the division of the world that we must think about even if it hurts us. You can also acquire something of Lanegra López, of course, Jésica, who imbricated a human perfection with another of nature.
With them, we offer a numerous group of pieces from artists that could be part of your dreams, of the human right to be in direct touch with art. For us, at la Casa del Maquío, it is our greatest pleasure to put at your disposal pieces of renowned and beloved artists.
