Portage Pool runs a holiday schedule on all statutory holidays. On the following dates, all programs are cancelled and there will be a 1 - 4 pm open swim only: • July 1st (Canada Day) • August 5th (Heritage Day) • September 2nd (Labour Day)

PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS Private lessons are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority is given to participants requiring one-on-one instruction due to a disability or safety concern. Note: semi-private lessons can only be booked for two swimmers within one level of each other. For example a Swim Kids 3 student and a Swim Kids 6 student could not book a semi-private lesson together, but a Swim Kids 3 student and a Swim Kids 4 student would be permitted. Set:

This July we’re trying out survival swimming lessons at McArthur Place waterfront! These lessons aren’t meant to replace traditional swimming lessons at the pool, instead they’re meant to offer a low-cost option to teach people of all ages and abilities the skills that they need to know to survive an unexpected fall into water. In the case of poor weather, algae, or cold water, lessons will be cancelled. You will be called the day before or morning of the lesson. We will reimburse the cost of the lesson if 2 or more of your classes are cancelled. Dates:

Note: as Bronze Medallion is the prerequisite for the Bronze Cross award, it’s possible that candidates pass one course and not the other.
NATIONAL LIFEGUARD/AQUATIC EMERGENCY CARE COMBO Note that this course includes an Alberta workplace approved standard first aid award and is required for the National Lifeguard award, candidates cannot opt out of the Aquatic Emergency Care award (AEC).
