SUMMER 2020
COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES, NEW PROGRAMS, AND MORE!
Lac La Biche County
COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES The Bold Center partially reopened to the public on Thursday, July 2. The Cenovus Fitness Centre, Canadian Natural Walking Track and Cenovus Fieldhouse 2 are open for use, with COVID-19 safety measures in place. The Bold Center is open daily from 12-8 pm. A maximum of 20 people are allowed in the Cenovus Fitness Centre per one-hour time slot, so Bold Center users are strongly encouraged to call ahead to book workout times. Call (780) 623-3829 and press 0 to speak to a customer service representative. Workout time slots: • 12-1 pm • 1:30-2:30 pm • 3-4 pm • 4:30-5:30 pm • 6-7 pm Staff will clean fitness areas in between time slots and at the end of each day. Members and passholders will be given priority to book workout times in the Cenovus Fitness Centre. Cenovus Fieldhouse 2 and the Canadian Natural Walking Track do not require calling ahead. What can I expect when I arrive at the Bold Center? You will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms when you arrive. The screening consists of a checklist, and all personal information collected will be kept confidential. Users are encouraged to pay for their facility access over the phone with a credit card prior to arriving (in-person payments will also be accepted). Do I need to wear a mask? Wearing a mask is not recommended for recreation program or fitness class participants. We do encourage users to follow physical distancing protocols at all times (except those in family/friend cohorts). You may see Bold Center employees wearing masks when physical distancing is not possible, or if they simply feel more comfortable wearing masks. Will cardio equipment be spaced out, or will there be limited usage allowed? We can’t move all of our cardio equipment, so these pieces of equipment will have 30-minute time limits for the time being, to ensure all users have an opportunity to use them. Do I need to book times to use Cenovus Fieldhouse 2 or the Canadian Natural Walking Track? No, because these areas allow for easier physical distancing, but user numbers will still be monitored to ensure COVID-19 safety protocols are being followed. As the Province updates restrictions, we will post new information outside of all activity areas. Please stay home if you display any signs/symptoms of COVID-19, as you will not be allowed to enter the Bold Center. Change rooms and steam rooms are currently off-limits, so please come dressed for your chosen activities. Day use lockers are available to store belongings. The information above is subject to change at short notice, and will be updated as the Government of Alberta changes COVID-19 restrictions. Please call (780) 623-3829 for more information or visit boldcenter.ca.
