GLAMOUR HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FOUNDATION
We bet that walking into a beauty store to choose a foundation is an overwhelming task. Two shades lighter and you’ll look grey and ghost-like, and two shades darker and you will have the obvious line of color difference between your face and neck. The foundation you wear should be a very close match to your natural skin tone and suitable for your skin complexion that you don’t end up looking too cakey. Follow this step-by-step guide to finding the right foundation for you

KNOW YOUR SKIN UNDERTONE
Skin undertone is the underlying shade of your skin. If you look better with gold jewelry then your skin undertone is warm and if silver jewelry compliments you better, your tone is cool. Warm complexion goes with shades that have yellow undertone while cool complexion is perfectly matched with foundation with pink undertones.
CHOOSING THE SHADE
Now that you know your skin undertone, to find the matching foundation shade to your skin tone, apply the foundation on your jawline to check if there’s any color difference between the face and the neck. Make sure to assess the foundation shade under proper light. It is also important to change your foundation shade based on the season. Go for darker shades in summer and in winter switch back to your lighter shades.
KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE
Choosing the right foundation depends not only on the shade, but also on your skin type. Foundations with a dewy finish are best for normal to dry skin as they make it look more radiant and glowing. For oily skin, opt for mattefinish foundation to keep your face looking fresh and less oily throughout the day.
DECIDE THE LEVEL OF COVERAGE
Based on the look, you will be able to decide the coverage level. For day-to-day use, you will want to look natural and simple so opt for light coverage. If you tend to have a problematic complexion with acne scars or want a long-wear foundation with no touch up in special occasions opt for full coverage foundation.
