Sus vaqueros destruyen el medio ambiente / Your jeans destroy the environment
Agua envenenada y enfermedades que llevan a la muerte, es lo peor que causan los pantalones vaqueros. ¿Qué causan los vaqueros?: matan los cultivos de algodón, los ríos se secan y el agua se envenena. Un par de pantalones vaqueros pesa alrededor de 0,6 kg y contiene en promedio 95% algodón. La producción de un par de pantalones vaqueros requiere 0,6 kg de sustancias químicas y toxinas y 12 000 litros de agua. El algodón es una planta extremadamente sedienta, para un kilo de algodón se requieren 29.000 litros de agua. El mayor cultivo de algodón está en la India y Pakistán. Estos países son secos y el algodón es importante para la economía. Para los cultivos se saca agua de los ríos. Entonces se secan estas zonas y el agua que queda para beber permanece contaminada. Esto puede llevar a grandes problemas y a su vez conducir a enfermedades y deformidades. *** Poisoned water and sickness, which leads to dead, is the worst thing about jeans. The largest cultivation of cotton is in India and Pakistan where it is dry and cotton are important to the economy. For the cultivation they have to take water from rivers. The rivers then become drained and the water will remain contaminated. Drinking it can lead to diseases and deformities.
W tym artykule chciałabym powrócić do historii, która miała miejsce 5 lat temu, działo się to dokładnie 26.09.2007 roku. Mieszkańcy Augustowa ogłosili protest przeciw opóźnianiu budowy obwodnicy z powodu ochrony doliny Rospudy. Gazeta Wyborcza donosiła: W środę, na rondzie, prawie każdy mieszkaniec Augustowa miał ze sobą jakiś transparent. Nawet gdy przyjechała policja i tłumaczyła, że za to grozi odpowiedzialność karna , mieszkańcy nic sobie z tego nie robili, wręcz przeciwnie, zaczęli się kłócić. Mówili: „Jak tiry mogą jeździć, to i ludzie mogą chodzić”. Dokładnie były to słowa Andrzeja Chmielewskiego z Obywatelskiego Komitetu Obrony Obwodnicy Augustowa. Ludzie krzyczeli, że wojewoda podlaski, Maciej Żywo, przekonywał mieszkańców, że nie ma żadnych opóźnień, a tu nagle okazuje się, że obwodnica ma powstać we wrześniu 2014r. Dziennikarze Gazety Polskiej powrócili do tematu obwodnicy. Upłynęło kilka lat, a w mieście, niestety, nic się nie zmieniło. Mieszkańcy Augustowa wspominają grupy przyjezdnych ekologów, którzy przywiązywali się do drzew i protestowali przeciw budowie. Oczywiście wygrali. Jednak pewien rolnik z Topiłówki, Ryszard Bartosiewicz, zauważył, że „zieloni”
przejeżdżali kolumnami samochodów przez las. Prawie wszystkie ptaki odleciały i bardzo dużo roślin obumarło, ponieważ nie było czystego powietrza. Gdy minął rok, okazało się, że dostawali za to pieniądze i wcale nie obchodzi ich żaden las. Uważam, że więcej krzywdy wyrządzano zwierzętom, gdy przejeżdżano przez las i miasteczko. Mogło także zginąć wiele osób z uwagi na niezwykle wzmożony ruch samochodów, głownie tirów. Mam nadzieję, że za niedługo powstanie, długo oczekiwana przez mieszkańców, obwodnica Augustowie.

*** In this article I would like to remind you of a situation that took place 5 years ago on 26th September 2007. The inhabitants of Augustów protested against delaying the construction of the baypass, which happend due to protection of Rospuda Valley. Gazeta Wyborcza writes that on Wednesday almost all the inhabitants of the city were holding banners. They were saying that if the lorries are allowed to pass that way, that means that they could be there as well. They were screaming that although governor of the region claimed that there were no delats, the baypass was meant to be con-
structed on September 2014. The journalist working for Gazeta Polska came back to the baypass topic. Few years passed, without any changes in the city. The inhabitants of Augustów are speaking about the
ecological groups, who were fighting agains the baypass. Of course, they won. However, a farmer from Topiłówka, Ryszard Bartosiewicz, noticed that “the greens” were driving through the wood. Almost all the birds were gone and many plants died as there was no fresh air anymore. After a year, it turned out that they got money and they did not care about the wood. I believe that the animals were harmed more, when the people were driving through the wood and the city. I hope that the baypass in Augustów will be soon created.
Z punču na námestí majú úžitok deti/ Punch at the main square Dňa 25. 1. 2013 okoloidúci ľudia na Martinskom námestí kupovali primátorský punč. Výťažok z nákupu poputoval do Univerzitnej nemocnice na detské oddelenie. Všetci mali jasný dôvod nákupu – chceli pomôcť chorým deťom. Ľudia si kupovali primátorský punč a zaplatili zaň príslušný poplatok. Celkový výťažok akcie bol 1.500 eur.
On 25 January 2013 people walking along the Martin square bought mayor’s punch. The money from punch was donated to university hospital for children’s department. Everyone had good reason for shopping – they wanted to help sick people. 1,500 Euros was collected in total.
