Read inside Lees binne The case of the stolen castle P3 New Chief for Bakgaga Maake P7 Limpopo Skole Gala Uitslae B12 Mark Scott-Crossley’s bail application hearing was postponed in the Lenyenye Magistrate’s court on Tuesday. The Hoedspruit businessman handed himself over to police in December last year after a warrant was issued for his arrest. It is alleged that Scott-Crossley attacked
a local game farm employee, Silence Mabunda, earlier that month. During the incident it is alleged that he drove over Mabunda twice with his vehicle, and left him for dead next to the side of the road. During the application on Tuesday, the State and Scott-Crossley’s defence
submitted their arguments and the judge postponed the case to next week Friday to give her enough time to deliberate. Scott-Crossley applied for bail in order to return to Hoedspruit to manage his farm. He remains in custody until his next appearance. — Thabo Maenetja

Don’t fret IT source IT Running a business can be one of the most daunting projects you will ever invest your time into. Suddenly there are a myriad of additional aspects you never knew you had to deal with, and most likely won’t ever have the time to. But, there are things you need to know and manage, and then there are things you need to employ others to take care of as it is impossible for one person to be an expert in every area of a particular operation. In fact, big business experts strongly advise against the practice. Large corporations have specific departments that deal with specific things such as Human Resources, Payrolls, IT and sales. The most important and often overlooked component of any successful business is its ability to communicate with its clients, investors and staff. What happens when your network crashes and suddenly your entire operation is left offline? Could you honestly spare a week without internet access and email correspondence? “But, I’m a small business and don’t have the capitol to employ an IT technician, what can I do?” Simple really. You contact Boshoff
That’s right, you pay a monthly fee for unlimited IT support when you need it, where you need it. They offer various packages to suit your budget and are open to negotiation to ensure that you get the backup and sup-
port you need, at a cost you can afford. “Our services include traditional IT support such as network installations and management, hardware sales and maintenance and even Cloud-based activities,” said Spengler. “Some of our corporate clients have all started making the transition from traditional to Cloud with some amazing results. The future is here and we need to move with it if we are to keep afloat in the market.” Limpopo Business Solutions operate from their offices at 13 Peace Street from Mondays to Fridays 08:00 to 17:00. “Even though we have office hours, our industry really is a 24/7 gig and we are permanently on standby to our customers as their satisfaction is at the heart of our success.” The beauty of it all is that there really is no need to come to them. Just give Boshoff a call on 082-326-5624 and he’ll come straight to you. It is a recipe that seems to be working pretty well, just ask their top corporate clients such as Nedbank and Price Waterhouse Coopers. Start your own chapter wisely If you’re reading this, chances are you haven’t raelly given this sentence much thuought. Your brain has become so used to reading that you don’t register the words anymore. That’s why you haven’t noticed all the spelling mistakes. Reading is so trained into our culture, we do it instinctively. Sometimes our eyes bounce off a page of dense, boring text without absorbing any content, but for the most part it’s almost impossible to look at a word and not read it. There is no instinctual ability to read. Written words are actually just shapes randomly meant to represent sounds, and those sounds are generally randomly assigned to actual objects or ideas. It takes most people years of instruction and practice to learn how to read. Some people, with specific learning difficulties, struggle with the process for their entire lives. And that is where the expert tu-

But this programme is not just for kids. There are a number of different programme workbooks adapted
precisely to deal with a particular skill level which makes the programme accessible to anyone from primary school level to pensioners. “We teach a reader how to read faster and with more cognition of what they are reading through various exercises. Stolen Castles in the sky Screenshots of the suspect’s Facebook profile clearly showing the stolen goods.
A new syndicate, believed to be involved in the theft of jumping castles, is currently under investigation by the police in Tzaneen and Polokwane. Two jumping castle hiring companies in the area have opened cases of theft against a group of individuals who made off with approximately R80 000 worth of equipment. The group operated by ordering three or four large jumping castles and inflatable slides from these vendors and then disappearing. Months later, the victims would find their stolen items being hired out on the suspect’s Facebook page at a similar rate. Attempts to contact the individuals are futile as the supplied phone numbers either remain unanswered or do not exist. Identity documents and proof of residence provided at the time of the rentals are also fraudulent. “I sent an email to the address provided demanding that my goods be returned immediately or the authorities would be alerted,” explained one victim. “We received a phone call from a very confused Cape Town-based company later that afternoon in connection with the mail who claimed no knowledge of any jumping castles.” The victim is the owner of Jolly Jumpers Tzaneen. “In June 2016 a man hired jumping castles from us for a period of three days. The hundred-year wait A 105-year old blind man from Leolo outside Lenyenye, finally received a fully-furnished house from the Mopani District Municipality last week Friday and then passed away a few days later. The handover formed part of the municipality’s initiative to uplift the needy. The house, including furniture, was executed in conjunction with the Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs (Coghsta), Zorha Khan Developers, the Greater Tzaneen Municipality and Eternity Stars. Walter Lemao (105) lived his life in a shifty two-bedroomed mud-house which he shared with four of his orphaned grandchildren and was elated at the new roof over his head. His new home comprises of two bedrooms, a kitchen and dining room. The mayor, Nkakareng Ragoale said, “those who follow the Bible like me, if you live beyond the age of 100 you’re living a life of grace. In 2015, I heard a

Dan road to open in Feb The road between Dan Village and Dan Clinic is a contentious topic for the residents of that area. The road was scheduled for an upgrade from the current gravel surface to a tarred surface. The project commenced two years ago, but came to an abrupt halt last year when the engineers apparently encountered a problem with a waterbed beneath the surface of the road. According to Elvis Mabaso, owner of Delvis Construction who was appointed to conduct the project, the problem with the water was one that did not fit into their initial budget. “The road will be completed by the end of February, guaranteed. The delay came as we waited for the budget to be approved after we submitted a proposal with the project’s additional cost which was formulated by the engineers,” he said. According to him, the additional cost budget will be approved in their next meeting which is scheduled for next week. “Next week we will be on site to evaluate whether there are any additional costs which arose after we stopped working,” promised Mabaso.

Our Opinion
The Message
Less conversation
“A little less conversation, little more action please…” Elvis Presley had the right idea. It is my hope that this penny will drop among the members of our community too. Because despite all the warnings the media issued the farming community, a meeting was held, promises made and smiles exchanged between handshakes and curtseys – and the lights are still off. I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. Gone are the days where farmers saddled up their tractors and blockaded the entrance to the Union Buildings until their cries were heard and action was taken. Heck, if taxi associations have the power to bring an entire city to a standstill, then surely the hand that feeds that city possesses that same might?

We read often about ships on the sea that have sunk or that have washed up on beaches. If we compare our life’s journey to that of a ship on the sea, we see that the ship is launched, (we are born) and sets upon its maiden voyage, (we embark on our journey in life) the ship has to endure all types of weather ( we have to endure all temptations in life) sometimes these storms are so powerful that the ship surcomes and sinks, (we become so overpowered by sin that we forget about God). Sometimes the ship is found and re-floated, brought back to land and refurbished, and sets sail once again (we confess our sins and God forgives us and we are brought back into His family and we continue on our life’s journey). Yet again some ships are lost forever, (if we deny Christ we too become lost forever). The good news is that God never forgets about us and through this all He is by our side all we need to do is to reach out and take His hand, even in our dying moments if we confess Him as Lord He takes us back. Now a question comes up what about those who never believed in Christ, will they too be saved. God is a God of love and will judge these people on the day of judgement and I believe if they are willing to confess Him as Christ they will be accepted by Him. But why wait until the end and miss out on all His blessings. When Peter and John were brought before the Sanhedrin on false charges, they could have readily deny Christ as it would have made it so much easier for them, yet they do not do this and confess Christ as Lord. They go much further and tell the Sanhedrin in no holds barred that it is by the power of Christ that everyone is on earth and that “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” Acts 4:12. The Sanhedrin thought they were the law and it was only through them that people could be set free. Now the Sanhedrin are puzzled because after all Peter and John were by all means not learned men as far as worldly standards were concerned and were just ordinary men, just like most of us are. Yet they had this air about them that made them seem different and somehow learned. The Sanhedrin knew that they had been with Jesus and must have realised that in spiritual matters they had a great knowledge. If we read further we see what the Sanhedrin tell them to do, basically telling them to deny Christ. Peter and John’s reply is seen in verse 19 “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you or to Him? You be the judges” They go further and say that they will tell only the truth as they have experienced it. Will you be willing to do the same if you were tested, say in a Muslim country? Difficult as it may be and knowing that you may be killed for your faith in Christ, we all know the rewards we will reap in confessing Christ: Salvation. Referring back to the ship: will we sink and be left for lost, or will we be found and rebuilt. Have faith to continue on your life’s journey for God will not forsake you as others do. At the end of this service we make a statement: Father Almighty we offer ourselves to You as a living sacrifice in Jesus Christ our Lord. Send us out into the world in the power of the Holy Spirit to live and work to Your praise and glory. The emphasis is on the words “living sacrifice” and “to live and work” Therefor we asking God to help us in our endeavours to serve Him and only Him. Our ship is sailing are we on board. Amen

New Chieftain accepted tho Maake, after she was introduced by Mrs Mohlago Maake Moagi. The meeting was chaired by the newly elected members of the Royal Council, Mr Matlatje Maake and Mr Phatudi Maake. The Bakgaga Ba Maake Community Trust chairperson, George Ramodike, said the trustees were chased and even denied to hold their organised meetings in the office since November 2015 by the outgoing royal council under the leadership of Mr Jerry Maake. “Our differences arose after I refused to authorise the payment of R76 000.00 from the trust‘s bank account to the outgoing Royal council since it was not budgeted for,” Ramodike said. He added that the previous council forcefully took IL Holdings’ community files which were kept by the trustees. The community members then resolved that the files be brought back to the trustees, in order to allow them to continue with the process of community developments. “This is a joyous occassion and one worthy of celebration by the community. We fought long and hard, and today we commemorate our own struggle.” — Phidelia Rikhotso

The newly appointed Kgoshikgadi Leganabatho Maake was officially accepted by the Bakgaga Ba Maake community, in an unprecedented meeting at the Traditional Authority hall on Sunday. Chieftain Leganabatho hails from GaMpahlele and was appointed by the Limpopo Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA) in 2013 when she was awarded a certificate. The chieftain will be Regent of the Bakgaka ba Maake after the retirement of Chief Mothoka Bessie Maake due to her old age. In acceptance of the newly appointed chieftainess the crowd in attendance stood up and shouted “Pula” as a traditional way of welcoming Leganaba-

Hanaczeck-Krüger dominates gala
Voor: Pieter du Toit, Zané Botha, Zanel Steenkamp en Jarika Stapelberg. Tweede ry: Alrich van de Merwe, Gustav Small, Doné Aucamp, Nicola van Heyningen en Lané Prinsloo. Derde ry: Elmé Ge-
nis, Ruan Hanaczeck-Krüger en Deané Toerien. Agter: Nantus van der Nest, Liam Meintjes, Bosman Hanaczeck-Krüger, Rhyno du Plessis en Erno Botha.
Regs: Ruan Hanaczeck-Krüger is aangewys as Limpopo se die beste 14-15 jarige seuns-swemmer en senior Victor Ludorum .
The majority of Tzaneen’s senior swimmers participated in the Limpopo Schools gala this past weekend. The annual championships were hosted at the Polokwane municipal swimming bath and provided top-class poolside action to onlookers and supporters. Ben Vorster High boasts some of the country’s most promising swimming talent within their ranks – a fact that became apparent to all, when the team returned home with no less than 36 medals. These included 10 bronze, 11 silver and 15 gold medals. Ruan Hanaczeck-Krüger is a name that needs no introduction among members of the provincial swimming frater-
nity. The 14-year old has taken the sport by storm and this weekend dominated his age group to take the senior Victor Ludorum as well as the award for Best Boys 14-15 years swimmer. As an all-rounder capable of recording qualifying times in all disciplines, Hanaczeck-Krüger seems to be leaning towards Breaststroke and Butterfly as he progresses. During the previous season he recorded an outstanding time of 29,81 seconds for the 50m Fly and 34,83 seconds for the 50m Breast. To put his times into perspective, current world champion Cameron van den Burgh’s time for the 50m Breast is 26,42 (Cameron is 28-years old). By comparison the current world record for the 50m Fly event is held by the Spaniard, Rafael Munoz (28) who touched the side in 2009 in just 22,43 seconds. The Limpopo team will be announced later this month. In the meantime, more information can be attained on www.swimsa. org or www.shamuswimming.co.za. — Joe Dreyer joe@bulletin.us.com

The junior runners did well with Janco Coetzee, Michelle Brummer and Bercha Venter crossing the line first. Francois Notnagel and Sancha van Niekerk led the senior pack. Runners up in the category for the junior boys were Jaco van Staden and Matt Myburg. In the junior girls section Leoné Slabbert came second. The Senior boys, JuanJacques Moller and Simoné van den Bergh finished in second place with Samuel Modiba and Jenelle de Jonge occupying the third position.

Merensky sent a team of athletes to Mpumalanga this past weekend to take part in a friendly season-opener on the grounds of Rob Ferreira High School in White River. The competition was tough as Rob Ferreira is considered to be one of that area’s top sporting schools. Other schools who participated on the day included Bergvlam, Middelburg, Penryn College, Uplands College and Curro Nelspruit.
When the dust had settled, Merensky rose to claim second position on the podium with their own Lourencia van Dyk crowned as best senior girls athlete on the day. Her compatriots, the girls U/17 relay team, managed to set a new record for the 4 x 100m event. They shattered the existing 53.52 seconds in a beautiful time of 52.70. The top five Merensky girls of the day were Zenesia Nukeri (shot put), Kesia
Pohl (shot put), Lourencia van Dyk (javelin), Lilly Pohl (shot put) and Salomé Lombard (shot put) with 845 ABSA points. The lightning quick 100m speedster, Reuben Caroto, claimed top honours for the Merensky boys with 774 ABSA points, with Noko Malatji (110m hurdles), Piet Maake (110 m hurdles), Dylan Herrendoerfer (200m) and Vutomi Mkhabela (200m) right on his heels.

Jason Bosman
Kagiso Hoaeane
— Joe Dreyer joe@bulletin.us.com
