What happened #AfterDineo

Tzaneen’s agricultural community is lapping up the throws of heavy rains brought to the region in the aftermath of tropical storm Dineo which made landfall in Mozambique last week. Praia Do Toto in Mozambique’s popular tourist city, Inhambane, bore much of the brunt of the storm with winds in excess of 160 km/h ripping much of that city’s infrastructure to shreds. Seven people are confirmed dead thus far. South Africa was not as hard hit as its neighbours. Some strong winds and heavy rains were experienced in parts of

Limpopo over the weekend which have contributed to a sharp increases in dam levels across the Letaba region. Members of the Letsitele community reported more than 230mm of rain on their farms earlier this week, while parts of Tzaneen and Agatha reportedly received just over 200mm. For more on the launch of this unit and the opportunities it offers in the area of early detection, read next week’s Bulletin.
