Lessis more! Wedding trends for Spring and Summer 2015/2016 It is your special day and sometmes planning can be problematic. With the rise of media access to current trends such as Pinterest, finding good information about what is actually a trend can be difficult. The 2014/2015 wedding season was all mason jars, eclectic vintage and rustic chic with a traditional twist. Weddings were stacked with hints of metallic, peonies, lace and wild flowers in tiny little bunches. But what will the new season bring? The 2015/2016 wedding trends and styles will move away from the rustic and traditional, moving into a natural organic feel with edgy pops of colour. Hints of mint, hues of blues like cobalt and even some grey undertones with accents of yellow is on the rise. (Continue on page 3)

August 2015 (from page 2) Less is more when it comes to decisions for next season’s events. This means less shabby, but more actual chic that is a whole lot more simplistic and sophisticated. Details are still important and elevated with a personal touch, but the reception has a fun and relaxed vibe. A big trend for this season is a multicolour palette. Instead of picking just one colour, go for a colour combination. If you are going for something natural and organic, add pops of colour to make your wedding unique. Your wedding pivots around your wedding colours. Choose 2-3 primary colours and 1-2 accent colors to set the mood, unveil your style and reveal the season.
With all the options available right now, capturing your special day is worth considering an investment. With aerial photography, cinematography and go-pros, you can now capture memories like never before.

Meermin- of trompetrok silhouette “Sweetheart’ neklyn

Planning the perfect skin for your wedding day When it comes to wedding skincare and beauty prep, there’s no such thing as starting too soon! We asked Adele Wijma, a skin specialist and owner of Adele’s Beauty Salon in Tzaneen, for her advice on how to get your skin clear and luminous for the big day. Here are her top tips: 1. Plan your budget for your skin care and body care 9-12 months before your wedding day. 2. Consult with your skincare specialist and express any concerns and questions you have about your skin. 3. The therapist will suggest the following depending on your skin and your needs: * Chemical peels: smoother texture, soften fine, stimulating cell growth, pigmentation. * Micro needling: improves sun damage, uneven skin texture, restore volume, elasticity. * Non surgical luxury face lift: lift of the cheeks, jewels and eyelids. Stimulates collagen and elastin. * Dr Gys du Plessis for your bigger problems: Botox and derma fillers. Add volume to your lips. Botox reduce muscle movement, preventing future wrinkles. 4. One week before your wedding plan your waxing, tints, facial, manicure and pedicure, gelish or bio-sculpture, brow shape, self tan spay, luscious lashes lash extensions) 5. Body treatments that will give you that bride glow we all want: * Kalahari full body exfoliation with salt or red dessert sand giving you the glow all over.
* Back massage or full body massage for the wedding stress. Nothing is more horrifying in the midst wedding planning than an acne breakout. It’s tempting to try and kick your skincare routine into overdrive before you walk down the aisle, but don’t start scrubbing and slathering just yet. It is always best to consult with your beautician first. Come and refresh and unwind with a customise treatment at Adele’s beauty and slimming clinic.
The Do’s and Don’ts In Planning a Bachelorette Party
Your best friend is getting married soon and you are throwing her the perfect bachelorette party. Waar pas hy in? Wat doen die bruidegom?
August 2015 • • • • • • • • • • • •

Hierdie is ‘n groot dag vir julle altwee. degom is verby.

Wedding Photography Wedding pictures are a cherished keepsake and is the only commemoration of the many hours spent on planning one of the most important days of your life. You have only that one day; and your photographer can either give you gorgeous images that you will cherish for the rest of your life, or you will receive images that will not resemble your big day at all. Your wedding album should instantly take you back to your special day and become your favourite coffee table book. There is no secret formula or one photographer who fits every couple. What separates the good from the bad is in the eye of the beholder; after all, art is subjective. Just make sure you feel great about the person you hire and see a distinction in his/her work. Give careful consideration to your photography budget and invest as much as you can into that part of your wedding. In the end, you can’t afford to be disappointed when the curtains close on your wedding day. We caught up with well-known wedding photographer Louise Meyer from Hoedspruit, to give our readers some advice on how to identify a good photographer who will translate your experience and memories into images.
potential clients: 1. Clarity about the different packages that are available. The client must be 100% clear on what to expect. For example, the hours that the photographer will cover 2. The time span of the wedding must be discussed in detail. 3. The client must inform the photographer of any spesific photos that should be taken. 4. The most important is to complete a contract that will cover all the detail!
• What common mistakes do people make when it comes to the budget set aside for their photography? It is very unfortunate that there are many photographers out there without the expereince or right equipment, charging rediculously low rates for their time and work. A few good photos are shown to clients and they are made to believe that that is the quality they can expect. It is very difficult to give a guideline since photographers’ rates vary and can be anything from R5 000 to R50 000! Keep in mind that your wedding photos are the only visual memories you wil have to treasure and it can’t be redone.
