Normbau Design Systems Normbau is a comprehensive range of colour co-ordinated architectural hardware offering durable, long lasting door furniture and accessories. The versatile range of levers and pull handles with a selection of size and fixings to choose from, are available as either solid nylon or steel cored for extra strength. A range of support systems is also available to help provide solutions to issues arising from the Disability Discrimination Act.

Special needs A large range of products including cloakroom fittings, shower rails and support systems for the elderly and those with special needs is available to help meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act. Nylon incorporates a unique textured surface to provide improved grip and is a poor conductor of heat, so, when compared to metal finished products it is more comfortable to the touch. The high impact colours are also particularly suitable for areas used by partially sighted people as colours are much easier to recognise when compared with stainless steel. Handrailing systems can also be supplied with a tactile sleeve to indicate to blind and partially sighted people oncoming flights of stairs or ramps. Normbau support systems for people with special needs are fully modular and can be built to individual specifications and are designed to meet the standard requirement of Part M of the Building Regulations. Product applications Normbau architectural hardware is in constant use in public and commercial buildings throughout the world and has a proven record of durability and performance. As Normbau nylon is coloured throughout, the colour will not fade or chip with rough handling, making the material an ideal choice for use in areas of heavy usage. Colour coding can often be of prime importance when selecting Normbau, particularly in commercial buildings such as schools, hospitals, leisure centres and care homes that require individual areas or facilities to be easily identifiable.

Fire Testing

The Normbau range of products is guaranteed against defect in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of purchase.

Critical products in the Normbau range illustrated in this brochure have either been included in successful fire tests or assessed to EN1634, further details upon application.

Standards Normbau products have been approved by the PSA to MOB H3PS high duty performance standards and lever sets conform to the European product standard EN1906 (1999). Fixings Pull handles are available with a selection of fittings to suit a variety of applications, including: bolt through; back to back; and face fixings which are available with or without a rose.

Normbau Material & Finishes Material Normbau nylon products are manufactured from high strength, polymide nylon that is: • • • •

Normbau products are also resistant to conventional domestic cleaners, disinfectants, dilute acids and alkalis. Hygiene To reduce the incidence and spread of harmful bacteria such as MRSA and E-Coli, Normbau nylon hardware offers built-in Microban antibacterial protection across a wide selection of its range. Incorporated into the polymer structure of the nylon during the manufacturing process, Microban reduces the risk of cross contamination, especially in the most inaccessible places and remains active for the life of the product. Environment Normbau has a policy of producing products that are cadmium free. Providing specifiers with the assurance that they are helping eliminate the unnecessary use of chemicals in the manufacturing process.
