There’s no better way to explore Louisiana’s Playground than by taking a drive along the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road. Leisurely discover this internationally recognized scenic byway as it meanders through marshes, prairies and along natural Gulf beaches replete with wildlife in their natural habitat. Adventure Point, located at 2740 Ruth St. in Sulphur, features interactive exhibits on local bayous, marshes, prairies, Gulf wildlife, Creole and Cajun cuisine, and Zydeco and Cajun music. Have your camera ready to capture world-class bird and alligator populations as well as stunning scenery right from your vehicle. Feeling a little more adventurous? Explore several walkways right into the marsh, shell along more than 26 miles of beach, fish for speckled trout and redfish, or catch your own fresh Louisiana blue crabs. Explore Wetland Walkway, a 1.5 mile (loop) accessible walking trail right into the marsh; Blue Goose Trail which features a 1 mile paved walking trail to the western edge of Lake Calcasieu; as well as three recreation areas for crabbing and fishing, Hog Island Gully, Blue Crab and West Cove. All locations open daily during daylight hours.

Engage in wildlife exploration at the Visitors Center which features hands-on interpretive exhibits, talking dioramas as well as multiple over-water boardwalks. Open during daylight hours. Pintail Wildlife Drive, just south of the visitor center, is a three mile driving loop which features excellent locations for nature photography. Open daily during daylight hours.
