Qualifying programs are - University Transfer, Business Administration, Heavy Oil Operations Technician, Heavy Oil Power Engineering, Environmental Conservation and Reclamation, Conservation & Restoration Ecology, and Applied Environmental Sciences. Conditions: To qualify, students must have graduated from a high school in the Buffalo Trails School Division within the last 20 months of starting at Lakeland College. The student must be in good academic standing (high school marks) and be entering a full-time program leading to a career in a "helping profession". The programs of study included within the 'helping profession" category may change over time and the Awards Committee has the authority to designate programs that are suitable for this award. It is the goal of this award to honor the Wainwright On Wellness project, which addresses mental health, and the social and educational needs of school age students. Preference will be granted to the applicant who is most likely to contribute to those objectives. Applicants must indicate school and community involvement on their application, as well as explain their intent to enter their chosen "helping profession". The following programs qualify: Child & Youth Care, Early Learning & Child Care, Educational Assistant, and University Transfer courses that lead to an Education, Social Work, or health related degree.
