A year of entertainment at the museum The Camden County Museum in Linn Creek is the home of dozens of fun events each year. From local stage theater to socials and festivals, check out what’s in store this year. Jan. 27: Civil War & More Roundtable Discussion Group, 6 p.m.

Meet any Thursday for an old-fashioned sewing bee and social time with likeminded folks. Bring the project you are working on or one you would like to learn. Also bring a sack lunch, if you wish. March 5: Indoor Garage Sale & Market Place, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Many vendors with a variety of items. Free admission. Lunch available for donation. Museum Farm Market & Bazaar, 3-7 p.m.

Every Wednesday from now through December many vendors fill the museum and (in favorable weather) the lawn. A meal is available for a nominal charge. You may check the Facebook page of the market for the evenings menu. March 12: Docent Training, 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Training for all docents and volunteers connected with the Historical Society. Led by experienced volunteers who will explain the history of the Society, Museum building, and area. Topics to be covered include (but not limited to) the makeup of the organization, daily procedures, special events, opportunities and responsibilities. All interested people are encouraged to attend this training. Lunch is provided. Please preregister. March 18: Audience Participation Mystery, 6 p.m.

Presentation of “Touchtone “M” for Murder by Craig Sodaro. All the action and excitement begins promptly at 6 p.m. Cost is $20/person. Seating is limited and reservations are strongly advised. April 9: Spring Craft Show, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. 14 VACATION NEWS

Many crafters with a variety of items. Admission free. Lunch available for donation. April 22-23: Melodrama & Spaghetti Supper, 5 p.m.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for the first Dinner Theater of the 2022 season. The buffet style Spaghetti Supper will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. and the curtain will go up at 7 p.m. for the melodrama performance of “Peril on the High Seas ” by Billy St. John. Seating is limited and reservations are strongly suggested. Tickets are $20. May 14: Car Show, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

See a variety of makes and models of cars on display. In the event of rain this event will be held on June 11. $15 entree donation. May 21 : Trivia Night, 7 p.m.

Trivia Night All proceeds benefit the Cemetery Committee. June 3: Dinner Theater, 6 p.m.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6 p.m. dinner and 7 p.m. curtain for the production of “Cemetery Club” by Ivan Menchell. Tickets are $20 and reservations are strongly suggested. June 10: Ladies Luncheon, 12 p.m.

A noon salad luncheon, followed by a program. The theme of the Luncheon is “Bonnets and Bingo.” Reservations suggested. Cost is $10. June 18 & July 16: History Camp, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Camden County Historical Society will hold a history camp for children ages 9 through 15. Each session the children will learn about a different era in the history of Camden County and Missouri. The June 18 session will cover from the time of the Native americans to post-Civil War circa 1870. The July 16 session will continue from post-war reconstruction 1870 to the present day. Games, crafts, demonstrations and speakers are included

in the plans for this program. The hours are 10 am to 4 p.m. and the children are asked to bring a sack lunch The demonstrations and games are open to the public. June 25: Swap Meet, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Reservations suggested. Not part of season ticket package. Doors open at 5 p.m. for the 7 p.m. curtain. “Thumbelina,” by Vera Morris is the summer production from the Young Museum Players. Buffet style dinner begins serving at 5:30 p.m. Seating is limited so reservations are strongly suggested. Cost is $15. July 23 : Ice Cream Social & Classic Car Cruise-In, 6-8:30 p.m.

Enjoy an evening of entertainment and ice cream. Aug. 5: Audience Participation Mystery, 6 p.m.
