CALENDAR OF EVENTS OCTOBER 2 • The Pregnancy Help Center 5K Walk/Run for Life will be held at JJ Twigs Pizza & BBQ in Lake Ozark. Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the race starting at 9 a.m. Awards and prizes will follow the race. Cost is $15 before July 31, or $20 after. Kids 11 and under are free. At 8 a.m. festivities and food will be served. A bounce house, face painting, raffle prizes, kids’ games, and other entertainment will be held. This tournament gives amateurs anglers the chance to win big. Cost to enter is $140 for one day or $190 for two days. The tournament will be at Bear Creek Golf Club. Sponsorships are available. A hole sponsor is $100 or join a team for $85/ person. Noon shotgun with cash prizes and drinks. 13 • The 20th annual Citizens Against Domestic Violence Brunch will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. An online auction

will be held (opens Oct. 11 at 8 a.m.), with a live auction taking place at the Brunch. All proceeds benefit CADV helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Miller, Morgan and Camden counties. A variety of sponsorships are available. The guild is open to anyone with a fiber interest regardless of experience level. Craft booths, apple butter and pies, craft demonstrations, a quilt raffle and chili supper will be available. Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission free. Lots of vendors and entertainment will be held. Half of the proceeds go to the Elks charity funds to help provide a Christmas for needy families. taurants in Gravois Mills. Ride the bus for $5. Buses start at 7 p.m. Participating bars include: 10-42 Bar & Que, Hillbilly Yacht Club, Tony Gs, VFW, Lake Burger, Lil Bass Hole, and Maggie’s at the Lake.
