Additionally, renovation efforts our underway on the hard courts, which is expected to be completed by mid-November. During this time, the Club has arranged for our Members to utilize the USTA’s pickleball courts complimentary during the court renovation. CLICK HERE to view step-by-step instructions for reserving a pickleball court at the USTA.

Lastly, the golf course closure for overseeding (October 21 - 31) will be closed through only one weekend and the range will reopen with modified hours beginning October 24. Thank you for your patience during this time, as this is an essential task designed to create Lake Nona’s healthy and pristine course conditions. I encourage you to please reach out to the Professional Shop for assistance in scheduling tee times at local courses we have partnered with for reciprocal playing privileges.

Thank you for your continued support of the Club. Your feedback is always welcomed and I look forward to seeing you and your families enjoying all aspects of Club life.

MATT COLLIS

matt.collis@lakenona.com

407.209.1241

As we welcome the fall weather, we look forward to a full schedule of golf events for the season ahead, which gets underway this month starting with the second annual B-52: Men's Fall MemberGuest, followed by the newly reformatted McDowell Trophy, an interclub competition between the best players from Lake Nona and Isleworth in a gross individual and team event. The McDowell Trophy will be hosted at Isleworth in 2025 and will alternate host courses annually. In other Club tournament news, the registration for the highly anticipated 37th annual Autumn Classic filled in just minutes and we are excited to welcome everyone back for a fun and active golfing season. Golf course improvements continue with additional tree pruning and clearing to further enhance the sight lines and course conditions and we are actively working on a long-term strategic plan to constantly maintain and improve our beloved course. It’s been nice to hear so many positive comments from Members seeing the developments around the course. Another great addition to our practice facilities has been completed, with the addition of a wedge game area. To the left of the range tee by the bunker green, we have dedicated targets staged at 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 yards with a closely mown area to hit from. Next summer, we intend to expand on this with the creation of greens to further enhance this facility.

Congratulations to Matt Franko, who won a Titleist GT driver at our TopTracer Introductory Session by hitting the closest shot to the pin - 3.6 yards! Well done Matt and enjoy your new driver! On Tour, Lydia Ko just can not stop winning! Her third win in four starts was completed with an impressive final round 63 which gave her a five-shot victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship. Leona Maguire valiantly battled at the Solheim Cup for Team Europe, but was unable to stop the Americans' victory on home soil. Leona's Solheim Cup appearance continues the amazing statistic of a Lake Nona Member having played in every Solheim Cup dating back to its inaugural tournament in 1990 when it was hosted at Lake Nona - what a truly unique piece of golf history!

COURSE NEWS

NICHOLAS

The golf course maintenance team has had an outstanding summer, focusing on cultural practices, tree work, and landscape enhancements. We are thrilled with the direction the course is heading as we prepare for overseeding at the end of October. This year, we’ll be overseeding the course in the same manner as the past two years. Poa trivialis will be seeded into all short grass areas, including greens, tees, approaches, and fairways, while the rough will be overseeded with perennial ryegrass. We’ve been very pleased with this process and are excited to deliver another season of fantastic course conditions.

As a reminder, the course is scheduled to close for overseeding on Monday, October 21, and will reopen for play on Friday, November 1. During this time, the range will be open for select hours on October 24 - 27 and 29 - 31. Please check the Club calendars for specific range hours.

Beginning in early October, Classic Golf Construction will be on-site to install four inches of fresh bunker sand. Please exercise caution while playing, as the installation will continue during course play to ensure completion before overseeding begins. We have chosen to start in October to reduce the risk of summer rains contaminating the new sand. I am particularly excited about the fresh bunker sand, which will enhance the overall aesthetic and playability of the course.

In addition to overseeding and the new bunker sand, we are also preparing the course for the second annual B-52 Tournament. Weather permitting, we will condition the course to achieve firm and fast playing surfaces. This is the only tournament where we get to present a fully Bermudagrass golf course, which is always a treat for us, as Bermuda is more resilient and allows us to push the course to its best possible condition as long as Mother Nature cooperates.

As always, please be mindful of your fellow Members by repairing ball marks, raking bunkers, and adhering to entry and exit posts to ensure everyone enjoys the course as much as you do. Here’s to another fantastic season ahead!

CATHY WILLIAMS

As we welcome October, and prepare for the return of many of our seasonal members and residents, we are extremely excited to see increased interest from international buyers, once again.

Locally, we continue to watch the real estate market very closely. While there is still pentup demand – We’re each working with very engaged buyers, who are searching for their perfect property – We have had several properties go under contract, which is unique for the end of the summer, and resale inventory is at an all time low.

If you have ever considered selling your property, would like more information about our listings, or would like to discuss the local market with our team, please contact us at 407-851-9091 or realty@lakenonarealty.com
