My One Week Journey with Z.E.N. foods The following pages will reflect my journey with Z.E.N. Foods I purchased a 7 day weight loss plan at a huge discount from a 1 day internet deal. I told the representative at Z.E.N. Foods that I didn’t want red meat, bleu cheese or eggplant in any of the meals. He said I should lose 5 pounds this week. This is my final day, look inside to see how things panned out‌
My One Week Journey with Z.E.N. foods I received my food the night before in ice packs. I put everything in the refrigerator ready for the next day. THIS IS MY LAST DAY. I’m really going to miss this!! See my summary of the journey on the last page herein.
Day #7 with Z.E.N. (Zero Effort Nutrition) BREAKFAST ZEN Harvest Granola with Greek Yogurt and Fresh Berries (OK, next to the breakfast burrito the other day, THIS is my favorite for breakfast. I could eat this every day! Just enough touch of sweetness and it filled me up. I’ve got a pep in my step!)
Day #7 with Z.E.N. (Zero Effort Nutrition) LUNCH Turkey and Roasted Vegetable Lasagna and Caesar Salad (I had an Open House today, so I had to eat this before I left when I was hungry. I never was one for Caesar Salad dressing, but, I sprinkled some lemon juice on it and it was fine. The lasagna didn’t look all that appetizing, but, it sure was good‌right down to the last piece of meat!)
Day #7 with Z.E.N. (Zero Effort Nutrition) SNACK Edamole with Flaxseed Chips (So, this looked like tortilla chips and guacamole. After eating it, I have a whole new attitude toward Edamole. I had to look it up to see what it was. Edamame (green soybeans) garlic, olive oil, cumin, lemon juice, diced tomato, hot pepper sauce and an optional chipotle pepper in adobo sauce. Great source of protein and fiber!)
Day #7 with Z.E.N. (Zero Effort Nutrition) DINNER Asian Pork Stir-Fry on a bed of Brown Rice (This was way more food than I would have normally eaten. But, perhaps, since the majority of it was snow peas, asparagus, onions, bell peppers and broccoli I realized I was doing things backwards in the past. So, in the future, instead of more meat and rice, it’s now, more veggies and less meat and rice.)
Day #7 with Z.E.N. (Zero Effort Nutrition) DESSERT Butterscotch Blondie Bar (Talk about melting in your mouth! I took little bites to savor the flavor. When I was down to the last morsel, I ate the strawberry and the experience was like eating strawberry cheesecake!)
I am the “Singing” Realtor in Altadena, Pasadena and the surrounding areas of the San Gabriel Valley in California. In Tune With Your Needs in Dena Land! Singing is my main love, but, I have to make some money some how until David Foster discovers that I can sing just as well as Celine Dion, Eva Cassidy and Lara Fabian!
As my schedule constantly changes on a daily basis, it’s difficult to shop and plan meals. I decided to give Z.E.N. a try to see if I could be more focused mentally and feed my body something nutritious for a change while on the go meeting with clients and fitting in classes at the gym. This year I’ve been through some health challenges. In February, I was ill for almost a month and wasn’t able to work much or go to the gym. In April, I was walking to my car in a parking lot and a woman backed her car up onto my foot, severely spraining it and injuring my Achilles. During that time, I still managed to sell a couple of homes and obtain a couple of listings. But, my health suffered. This July, I finally started feeling better and went back to my classes at 24 Hour Fitness. But, I knew my diet was lacking nutritional value on a daily basis. In March I turned 50. I had the best party EVER. Over 100 people showed up. I hired Robert Kyle and Stephan Oberoff to play their beautiful jazz and I was able to sing with them. But, looking back at the photos, I saw the 30-35 pounds that I’d put on in the past decade. I felt awful. I really wanted to look and feel good on my 50th. I purchased a 7 Day Weight Loss Program via a big discount through RueLaLa.com because I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford it otherwise. My consultant, Joe, at Z.E.N. was attentive when I told him what I liked and didn’t like. I was a bit concerned, though. What was I going to feed my weary husband, Chris, when he got home in the evenings from working a long, hard day supervising the renovations of the Big Blue Bus terminal in Santa Monica? Sometimes Chris even gets so busy he doesn’t eat his lunch. Joe said it would cost $52 a day to feed him. Well, considering our income has been limited for a couple of years, now, with hubby as a self-employed General Contractor (www.ceedubconstruction.com) and me as a self-employed Realtor (www.DenaRealEstate.com), we might go out to eat twice a month. $52 a day was too much for our little budget. After all, I’m a little nobody compared to some of the celebrities who are using Z.E.N. and can really afford this program. I managed to feed my husband a good enough dinner, just not as nutritious as what I had been provided with. During my 7 Day Z.E.N. Foods program, I felt fantastic. I was never hungry and I found myself more alert during the day. The meals were delicious and filling and I really liked the variety of foods that were delivered to me every day like clockwork! I managed to lose 4.25 pounds (maybe I would have lost more if I hadn’t missed the gym twice this past week)! All in all, I felt a little pampered during my one week program. Kind of like a mini vacation. I discovered a lot about myself. I really DON’T need to have a meaningless bag of chips or jelly beans for a snack. I can incorporate some tasty vegetables, fruit, or edamole and flax seed chips into my daily routine where what I eat will be good for my body. Although, my recipes will in no way be as good as Z.E.N.’s I am grateful for having the opportunity to have Z.E.N. Foods in my life for a week. Maybe one day when I’m famous, I’ll be Z.E.N.’s #1 customer and I’ll be their “singing” spokesperson!
