Joke of the Day A man escapes from a prison where he’s been locked up for 15 years He breaks into a house and inside, he finds a young couple in bed. He ties him to a chair. Wh...ile tying the wife to the bed, the convict gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he’s in there, the husband whispers over to his wife, “Listen, this guy is an escaped convict. Look at his clothes! He’s probably spent a lot of time in jail and hasn’t seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck. If he wants sex, don’t resist, don’t complain. Do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is obviously very dangerous. If he gets angry, he’ll kill us both. Be strong, honey. I love you!” She responds: “He wasn’t kissing my neck. He was whispering in my ear. He told me that he’s gay, thinks you’re cute, and asked if we had any Vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you, too.”

Rapper Ja Rule in NYC jail Jennifer Hudson Says Idol with July release date Should Call It Quits? By DJ J-Que

The Associated Press, Thursday, February 28, 2013, 2:26pm (PST) ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Federal authorities say platinum-selling rapper Ja Rule is in a New York jail with a July release date. RELATED: Stars who are aging in reverse The 36-year-old rapper left a state prison in central New York last week after serving most of his two-year sentence for illegal gun possession and went straight into federal custody in a tax evasion case. The Federal Bureau of Prisons says he has since moved from an upstate jail to Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, which houses prisoners awaiting court dates or having short terms left on their sentences.

Jennifer Hudson thinks that the show that made her famous should end its run while its on top. Hudson tells Celebuzz.com that Fox’s “American Idol” should go out gracefully. The 12th season of “Idol” premiered last week, but the show lagged in the ratings. Hudson — who placed third on “Idol’s” seventh season — still highly respects the singing competition. She says “Idol” has “changed the face of television.” Hudson adds that the show has “always been a phenomenon” and that she is proud to have been part of the “American Idol” family.

Saved by the Bell If you are from the 80’s then you will know what show is spoken about when you hear. Zack Morris, Kelly Kapowski, Lisa Turtle, A.C. Slater, Jessie Spano, Screech & Mr. Belding. Yes it is the show of 5 kids life in High School. It is no other show like Saved by the Bell. But that was then and this is now. Where are they and what are they doing now. First there was the "Beverly Hills, 90210" spinoff "90210." Now "Boy Meets World" is getting a reboot with "Girl Meets World." Could a comeback for the cast of "Saved by the Bell?" be far behind? Star Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who played Zach Morris, thinks the door is open. He told TMZ last week that if "Boy" can do it, "maybe we'll do a reunion as well."

Mark-Paul Gosselaar/Zack Morris The golden boy of the show, Gosselaar, now 38, had trouble saying goodbye to his character he is still can be seen in many show such as: NYPD Blue and now in Rising the Bar

Tiffani Thiessen/Kelly Kapowski Now 39, Thiessen stars in the hit series "White Collar" and has a 2-year-old daughter, Harper Renn, with husband actor Brady Smith.

Where are they now Mario Lopez/A.C. Slater Mario Lopez may not have A.C. Slater's trademark parachute pants or jheri curl anymore, but that hasn't stopped him from keeping busy since he left Bayside. He has been in many show but now you can catch him hosting X Factor, Believe or not and American best dance crew

Elizabeth Berkley/Jessie Spano

Following in the footsteps of fellow Bayside alum Lopez, Berkley hosted Bravo's popular but shortlived "Step It Up and Dance" in 2008. Since then, she has starred on multiple episodes of "CSI: Miami" and Showtime's "The L Word."

Lark Voorhies/Lisa Turtle Voorhies Found mild success on the soap opera circuit on "Days of Our Lives" and "The Bold and the Beautiful." But you can find here in many other movies Dustin Diamond / Screech Diamond, now 36, went from class geek to porn star when a 2006 sex tape of him and two women in wedding garb was released. In 2009, he released the tell-all book "Behind the Bell" about sexual escapades, drug use and hardcore partying among cast members.

Saint Patrick's Day or the Feast of Saint Patrick (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig, "the Day of the Festival of Patrick") is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on 17 March. It is named after Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461), the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland.

Little is known of Patrick's early life, though it is known that he was born in Roman Britain in the fourth century, into a wealthy RomanoBritish family. His father was a deacon and his grandfather was a priest in the Christian church. At the age of sixteen, he was kidnapped by Irish raiders and taken captive to Ireland as a slave.[10] It is believed he was held somewhere on the west coast of Ireland, possibly Mayo, but the exact location is unknown. According to his Confession, he was told by God in a dream to flee from captivity to the coast, where he would board a ship and return to Britain. Upon returning, he quickly joined the Church in Auxerre in Gaul and studied to be a priest.[citation needed] In 432, he again said that he was called back to Ireland, though as a bishop, to Christianise the Irish from their native polytheism. Irish folklore tells that one of his teaching methods included using the shamrock to explain the Christian doctrine of the Trinity to the Irish people. After nearly thirty years of evangelism, he died on 17 March 461, and according to tradition, was buried at Downpatrick. Although there were other more successful missions to Ireland from Rome, Patrick endured as the principal champion of Irish Christianity and is held in esteem in the Irish church.

Verdicts in Steubenville high school rape trial By Andrew Welsh-Huggins, The Associated Press Two Ohio high school football players have been found guilty of raping a drunken 16-year-old girl in a case that roiled a small city and stirred reaction from activists online. Judge Thomas Lipps ruled Sunday in juvenile court that Steubenville High School students Trent Mays and Ma'Lik Richmond are guilty of attacking the girl after an alcohol-fueled party last August. The 17-year-old Mays and 16-year-old Richmond were charged with digitally penetrating the West Virginia girl, first in a car and then in a house. Judge Tom Lipps ordered Richmond held in a juvenile detention facility for at least one year and Mays at least two years. The juvenile system could hold them until age 21. Both were required to register as juvenile sex offenders. Mays and Richmond both apologized tearfully after being found guilty. "I'd like to apologize to her family, [the] community. No pics should have been sent. That's all sir," said Mays. "I'd like to apologize to you people. I had no intentions to do anything, I'm sorry to put you through this — I'm sorry, I didnt... " said Richmond as he broke down crying. Afterwards, the mother of the victim's mother, who is not being named, gave a statement to the media, saying: "It did not matter what school you went to, what city you lived in, or what sport you've played. Human compassion is not taught by a teacher coach or parent. It is a God-given gift instilled in all of this. You displayed not only a lack of this compassion but a lack of any moral code. Your decisions that night affected countless lives including those most dear to you. You were your own accuser through social media you chose to publish your criminal conduct on. This does not define who my daughter is. She will persevere, grow, and move on. "I have pity for you both. I hope you fear the Lord, repent for your actions and pray hard for his forgiveness," she concluded. The case divided the community amid allegations that more students should have been charged and led to questions about the influence of the football team, a local source of a pride. After the guilty verdicts, Ohio's attorney general said he will convene a grand jury to investigate whether other people should be charged in the case. Activist groups have questioned why people who knew about the rape weren't charged under state law requiring people to report crimes. Attorney General Mike DeWine said Sunday "this community desperately needs to have this behind them but this community also desperately needs to know justice was done and that no stone was left unturned."

'Oz' tops box office again with $42M By Todd Cunningham TheWrap Disney's "Oz the Great and Powerful" dominated the box office in its second week, taking in an estimated $42.2 million and raising its overall domestic total to more than $145 million.

"The Call" was in a relatively low 2,507 theaters and the R-rated kidnap thriller still rang up an impressive $17.1 million. "Burt Wonderstone," which was in $3,160 theaters, pulled just $10.3 million out of its box-office hat. That's about $5 million less than analysts projected for the PG-13 film, produced by New Line and BenderSpink for an estimated $30 million Check the 12 biggest movies so far this year Click here

Device stops texting while driving by stopping driving while texting

Some systems have tried to prevent texting while driving by shutting down your phone. But what if you prefer more drastic repercussions, such as stranding the offender somewhere with a car that won't start? The ORIGOSafe works by requiring you to insert your smartphone into a dock before the car can start. Should you try to remove the phone before the car is shut down, it sounds an alarm and locks you out of the system, preventing you from restarting the car until an administrator unlocks it for you. If you forget to turn the car off before removing your phone, you'd better hope your administrator is around, or you're not going anywhere 12 ways to improve your sex life

When walking alone don’t listen to music to loud. If you can not hear then you can’t protect. Plus listening to music low make your brain work better cause you force yourself to listen to it. If you have to take your ears plug off to speak then it to loud. When entering a place look around and take a mental image of how many people are around you, Size, Sex and weight. Knowing your surrounding can help you. Remember everything can be a weapon. When walking use your element of reflection to see who is next to you or behind you. Like a Store window as you pass by or a Car. Become a actor and what I mean is if you feel that someone is behind you do not turn your head to see. Because if you do you can be unbalance and will not be able to protect yourself. Instead act like you looking at a building or like you forgot something. This way you turn your body and be in balance and will not warn the person that you are on to them. Some people attack when they fill that. If you feel like the person is following you slow down a little for a about 6 sec so you can do #3 then speed up for a couple of seconds. If you notice that person speed up with you or slow down. Cross the street even if you don’t have to. Never walk near a building due to the lighting issue. Try to walk more in the middle of the sidewalk where there is more lighting and your view is much better. When someone stop you in the street look around and as strange as this sound place your bag in front of you. This way you can keep a eye on the person in front of you and you don’t have to worry to much of someone run by and taking it. Walking with someone does not mean to keep your guards down.

Rapper Tone Loc collapses on stage in Iowa The Associated Press, Sunday, March 17, 2013, 7:40am (PDT) DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Rapper Tone Loc has collapsed on stage while performing in Iowa. The Des Moines Register reports that Loc, whose real name is Anthony T. Smith, collapsed after finishing a song during a Saturday night concert in Des Moines. Three of the newspaper's workers who were at the show said people attended to Loc for several minutes before fans were asked to leave. Loc's condition wasn't immediately clear Sunday. It's not the rapper's first time collapsing on stage. Loc, who is best known for his 1980s hits "Funky Cold Medina" and "Wild Thing," collapsed and had a seizure during a 2009 concert in Pensacola, Fla. Authorities said he had apparently overheated. Loc also collapsed in 1995 while attending a Los Angeles Lakers game. The reason he collapsed wasn't given.

Matt Lauer hosting 'Jeopardy' could be hazardous Pop quiz a la "Jeopardy": Despite driving away morning viewers from NBC's "Today," he's in the running to host one of the most durable quiz shows on TV. If you answered, "Who is Matt Lauer?" you'd be right. Lauer is at the top of the list to take over the show from host Alex Trebek, who has emceed "Jeopardy" since the current version returned to the airwaves in 1984, reports the New York Post. Its fans are already bristling at the idea, with some on Twitter writing that they would be "done watching" if Lauer takes over the venerable quiz show. Unfortunately for those fans, Trebek is expected to end his run in 2016, when his contract expires. It's not hard to blame him. After all, he's 72, and he suffered a second heart attack last year. He has hinted that retirement might be in the cards, telling Fox News last year that he had been thinking about stepping down from the show. But messing with an iconic game show carries risks, even if the new host is beloved by TV fans. Lauer, however, is increasingly falling out of that category and would represent a huge gamble for producer Sony Pictures Television, a division of Sony (SNE +7.67%). Ratings at "Today" have suffered, with many fans blaming Lauer for former co-host Ann Curry's ouster. He's also criticized for having a huge ego and an even bigger $25 million-ayear deal, which is set to end in 2015. That has taken a financial bite out of NBC Universal, owned by Comcast (CMCSA -1.09%), which saw profits on "Today" dip by $50 million last year because of the show's sinking ratings, according to The New York Times. Given that "Jeopardy" surely is a big moneymaker for Sony, that should be a concern for the production company.

Lauer's downward spiral with TV viewers is marked by his plunging Q score, a measure of a celebrity's likability, which has fallen by more than half since Curry joined him as co-host in 2011, The Times notes.

Suspicious Bronx Fire Kills Girl, 7, Girl, 3, Critical By LORI BORDONARO and IDA SIEGAL NBCNewYork.com

A 7-year-old girl was killed and her 3-year-old sister is clinging to life after a fire that sources are calling suspicious ripped through an apartment in the Bronx early Sunday morning. Authorities responded to the fire on Grant Avenue in FleetwoodConcourse Village at about 3 a.m. Police say the children, who were in a fourth-floor apartment, were pulled from the smoldering fire unconscious and transported to Lincoln Medical Center. The 7-year-old, who police identified as Hazel Martinez, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her sister remains in critical condition. Fire officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but a source close to the investigation said a five gallon gasoline container was found at the scene and there is reason to believe the building's natural gas line was tampered with. Anita Harris, who lives just above the apartment where the children were, said smoke from the fire seeped into her apartment. "Horrific smoke, you couldn't see anything and everything was black," said Harris, who remembered thinking of the children as she ran down the building's stairs. "I just kept thinking about those kids, where are the children?" Neighbor, Malisa Johnson, described Hazel as a bright-eyed, friendly little girl. "She was in my granddaughter's class and would always say 'hi Mikaila's grandmother.'" Johnson said. "That's all I can hear in my head this morning is her saying that."

Woman who ate rat poison while pregnant charged with murder By Charles Wilson, The Associated Press

Prosecutors who charged a mother with murdering her infant because she ate rat poison while pregnant have asked the Indiana judge trying the case to take steps that critics say could stifle any sympathy jurors might have for the woman. Bei Bei Shuai's story has generated a wave of support from advocates who fear that her case could establish an unequal system that would effectively make pregnant women beholden to stricter rules than others under Indiana law. Shuai, a 36-year-old Chinese immigrant from Shanghai, was eight months pregnant and heartbroken after a breakup when she ate rat poison in December 2010. She was hospitalized and doctors detected little wrong with the fetus' health for the first few days. Shuai gave birth to Angel Shuai on Dec. 31. Three days later, the baby died from bleeding in the brain. Medical staff reported her to the police; her lawyers said it was a suicide attempt. Prosecutors charged her in March 2011 with murder and feticide, saying her suicide note showed she intended to kill herself and her unborn baby. Shuai's lawyers say Indiana's fetal murder law was intended to apply only to people who attack pregnant women. Her trial is scheduled to start April 22.

Facebook Lock-out Issue By Chris May PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — 3 On Your Side wants you to know about a Facebook problem that is affecting its members across the country. Users are saying they’re mysteriously getting locked out of their own accounts, and they can’t get answers as to why they were locked out. Karina Moreno admits that she’s addicted to checking Facebook. “Every single day, on my phone. If it’s not on my phone, on my computer,” says Moreno. Recently, Karina says Facebook locked her out of her account without any explanation. The page was still up, but she could not log in. “It asked me to submit a government-issued photo ID, so I automatically assumed it was a scam,” explains Moreno. When she contacted Facebook, she was told it was not a scam — Facebook really needed a copy of her identification. We found a number of people complaining online about the same issue with Facebook. “There’s a lot of people faking profiles and using them maliciously,” explains Chris Morran, the deputy editor of Consumerist. Morran says he understands why Facebook may want to verify people, especially following the Manti Te’o scandal. Facebook spokesperson Sarah Feinberg tells us the company doesn’t comment on specific users or specific enforcement actions, but she says the social media site sometimes suspects certain accounts are violating Facebook’s terms and conditions for things like the user being younger than 13 years old, bullying, posting inappropriate content and copyright violations. As for requiring photo ID, Facebook says they delete the data following verification. “As long as they’re within the law, they have the right to do what they want,” says Morran. “And you, as a consumer, have the right to not use Facebook.” Karina insists she did nothing wrong. When Facebook was contacted, the company restored her login and apologized, saying that her account was suspended by mistake. “I’m against Facebook now, completely,” she says. Facebook can’t explain why there’s been a rash of issues, but they did update their terms and conditions in December. The social media company tells us its software automatically picks up when terms are violated, but they won’t tell users exactly what term they violated because Facebook doesn’t want people to game the system.

Crews find man’s body in icy South Dakota river after he dived in to save 6-year-old boy who survived Crews on Saturday recovered the body of a second person who drowned in an icy South Dakota river while trying to save a 6-year-old boy, authorities said. A search boat discovered the body of Lyle Francis Eagletail, 28, in the Big Sioux River shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday, said Jeff Helm, division chief for Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue. Eagletail had been near the river in Falls Park Thursday evening when he saw 6-year-old Garrett Martin Wallace either fall into the frothing water or become obscured by the gathering foam. Garrett's 16-year-old sister had jumped in to save the boy and Eagletail followed. The boy later emerged from the river and was uninjured. The body of Madison Leigh Wallace, of Vermillion, was discovered Friday afternoon. Eagletail's body was discovered about 100 feet from Wallace's body in a part of the river that was about 12 feet deep, Helm said. It was an area on the east bank that crews had previously searched. "That just shows you how treacherous and how easy it is to hide such a thing in this murky water," he said. Witness accounts differ on whether someone pushed the boy out of the water or he popped up on a rock before being pulled ashore, Sioux Falls Fire Chief Jim Sideras said earlier. Emergency workers carried the boy away from the river wrapped in a blanket. About 45 people had been taking part in the search efforts Saturday, including a dive team from Pierre, Helm said. About a dozen family members of Eagletail's had remained at the river as rescuers searched for him. After the body was found, they immediately left to see it at a nearby hospital and did not speak with the media. The park had been closed since the incident and was to reopen at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sioux Falls Fire said. The city rescheduled an annual St. Patrick's Day lighting ceremony at Falls Park until Sunday. The city of Sioux Falls is named after the Big Sioux River's cascading waterfalls in Falls Park, a tourist attraction where people often picnic or pose for wedding photos. The park draws about 525,000 visitors annually, according the local visitors' bureau, and is an especially popular spot in the spring and summer. Thursday had been the first day in months that temperatures reached 50 degrees. Fatal accidents are rare at Falls Park. The body of 29-year-old Travis Hallan was found just north of the falls after his canoe tipped over in 2006. In 1999, 26-year-old Slavisa Andric drowned after losing his footing on rocks at the park. Omar Iasi Ibrahim Warsame, 43, had been fishing at the river in 1997 when he fell in and drowned.

After big soda ban, NYC's Mayor Bloomberg wants to hide cigarettes New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, seen here holding a super-size soda cup while promoting a crackdown on sugary drinks, has announced a new public-health campaign to shield cigarettes from public view

By Tracy Connor, Staff Writer, NBC News

If New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg gets his way, stores won't be able to publicly display tobacco products and will have to keep cigarettes under the counter or behind curtains. The legislation announced Monday is the latest public-health crackdown by the mayor, whose ban on super-sized sugary soft drinks was shot down by a judge last week. The proposed law would "prohibit display of tobacco products" in most retail shops, Bloomberg said. "Such displays suggest smoking is a normal activity and invite young people to experiment with tobacco." He said it would be the first of its kind in the nation. A second law would impose new rules to make it harder to sell smuggled cigarettes. "These laws would protect New Yorkers, especially young and impressionable New Yorkers," Bloomberg said at a Queens hospital, adding that a decline in youth smoking has stalled out with about eight percent of young people lighting up. Bloomberg has also crusaded against salt in restaurant foods and junk food in vending machines.

Man struck and killed by N train in Times Square station

Liu kicks off mayoral campaign with sweatshop claim By Erin Durkin , Celeste Katz AND Bill Hutchinson / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

By Rich Schapiro / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

A man was struck and killed by a train in the Times Square station early Saturday, authorities said. The unidentified man was run over by an N Train below W. 42nd St. and Seventh Ave. about 8:15 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said. The victim died at the scene. No other details were immediately available, the spokesman said. Downtown N and R trains were running express from 57th Street to Herald Square.

City Controller John Liu officially kicked off his mayoral bid Sunday by touting that he worked in a sweatshop as a child - a biographical claim the Daily News debunked years ago. Speaking to supporters from the steps of City Hall, Liu pitched as cherished fact his childhood work alongside his mother in a sweatshop — but his parents said during the Democrat’s 2009 campaign for controller that their son's version of history was incorrect. "My dad took a job far beneath what he had had in Taiwan," Liu said Sunday. "My mom spent years in a sweatshop, where I often had to pitch in to make ends meet." Four years ago, The News investigated Liu's “sweatshop” story — his campaign had run ads featuring bleak factory scenes — and learned from his mother, Jamy Liu, that she never worked in a sweatshop.

Domino delivers! Master plan at former sugar refinery brings park land and hopefully high-tech jobs to Brooklyn By Jason Sheftell / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

A world-class arena, a hot hoops team, the most vibrant culinary scene in the country, and rising real estate prices — Brooklyn does not want for much. What it does lack, though, sorely, are companies who think it’s as hip as twentysomethings do and more parks. It would be the fourth-most populous city in the country, but Brooklyn has less parkland per acre than any urban area in the United States. Worse, no big company thinks Brooklyn’s cool enough to lay down serious roots, or money. Yes, the artisan loves the borough, but Queens has a much higher corporate profile. Citibank built a tower in Long Island City. Rolex and JetBlue followed. Brooklyn talks about becoming a tech hub, but Google lives in Chelsea, and Microsoft is on Sixth Ave. With Starwood, RBS, UBS and the soon-to-relocate website Kayak, Stamford, Conn., has more big companies. That could change soon at the former Domino Sugar factory. Developer Two Trees Management Co. asked lower Manhattan-based architect SHoP to rethink an inherited master plan for Domino, a site they purchased last fall for $185 million. The new plan added outdoor space and will use the historic sugar refinery as a commercial building totaling almost 4,000 jobs.
