KOSHINO HOUSE ASHIYA-SHI, JAPAN IN 1984 • Koshino House was located at the foot of the Rokko Mountains in Ashiya City, East of Kobe. • Completed in two phases (1980-81 & 1983-84). • Made up of two parallel rectangular concrete boxes. • A fan shaped extension in the second phase contains the Atelier. • Awareness of the plan of the house when the visitor approaches it from above,if not its specific function from outside. • The building using design element of simplicity.
USE OF LARGE WINDOW
To allow large quantities of light enter to the building and offer a view of the garden.

Non Separated
The structure is separated from the exterior but connected underground in the interior. Giving an illusion of separation and yet is connected.
Alignment
The two rectangular blocks are parallel to each other and the later irregular shape is additionally added has one of its sides parallel to the structure too.
Scale and Proportion
Variation of scale from the view of section. The dinning room and living room have a double story height which is balanced by the small area given to the living and dinning area.

CONCLUSION Application of light and shadow concepts are same in Azuma House, enabling the sunlight to enter the building and sun movement creates an abstract pattern in the building.
COMPARISON Ando focus on simplicity concept which concentrate on the inner feeling. Connection between the building and the nature bring out a natural feeling in the interior.
Absence of diversity. Combination and arrangement of the building promote to the total aesthetic effect. With the use of same materials and same esthetic value and openings.
