Memphis 901 FC’s struggles continued last weekend, this time against one of the highest-scoring teams in the USL Championship league.

Having suffered a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Phoenix Rising FC that ended its 12-match unbeaten streak, last weekend’s match served as an opportunity for 901 FC to return to form.

However, San Antonio FC dominated from the outset at AutoZone Park, scoring three goals in the first half and barely breaking a sweat in a 4-0 win. 901 FC coach Stephen Glass was very candid about his team’s performance.

“They’re obviously very low,” he said, referring to his players. “It’s frustrating that we couldn’t get back in the game. I think we are going to have to get used to the physical aspect of these games.”

901 FC has now lost its last two matches by a combined 10-0. Glass credited San Antonio for its performance offensively, but felt that his squad let several opportunities slip away. “We need to start getting points on the board if we want to remain where we want to be.”

San Antonio forward Tani Oluwaseyi scored a hat trick in the first 35 minutes, and the visiting team needed no further inspiration, dominating the pitch the entire night.
