04. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT DESIGN CHARRETTE AND PROPOSALS

Design Charrettes

The general definition of hesitation is something that prevents you from acting or the worry that you will choose the wrong thing, which causes you to stop and consider your options.

defining various hesitations on the subject of intervention

- FEAR

Fear can be induced by changes in levels or excessive exposure.

- WAITING

Because there isn’t a residential building on the site to transport users from the metro station to their respected private spaces, users frequently wait for their bus, taxi, uber, or boat. Interactive waiting areas may help to activate the site by allowing visitors to interact with other visitors or the interventions. For nearby employees to relax and socialize, this space can also be used as a social space to unwind and have fun.

- LEISURE/AMENITIES

Because there is little to no access to food and beverages, the site is very open and large and is exposed to a lot of sun, having amenities on the site will result in that feeling of relief and positive hesitancy. As a public space that creates a levitated space for refreshments and the ability to take in the waterfront view while relaxing, elevators would be used to access these.

- UNFAMILIAR/UNKNOWN

Different architectural elements give the impression of being unfamiliar. Creating something that users are not familiar with would trigger hesitation

Case Study

Metro Exit Through Building

Creating different architecture elements as the exits of the metro going through the building creates the senses of unfamiliarity, as the standards is the pedestrian bridge to leave the metro itself and then maybe access a building right outside it from the ground but here metro users would have to go inside the building to enter and exit through the building and then outside. Creating something that users are not familiar with would trigger hesitation

ACCESS THROUGH RAMP/ STAIRCASE

Creating different architecture elements as the exits of the metro creates the senses of unfamiliarity, as the standards is usually an elevator or a escalator to exit from the metro. Creating something that users are not familiar with would trigger hesitation
